Taylor’s first album, White Sugar, was released in 2009. Since then, the Wednesbury, England, native has navigated an international career distinguished by heavy touring and the release of six more albums, including her new Reckless Heart, which draws on her songwriting, vocals, and fat Telecaster and Les Paul tones to provide a well-rounded summary of her art.
We caught up with Taylor on a recent gig at Nashville’s City Winery, as she led her band through the final dates of a club tour that would then lead into summer festivals. She gave us the lowdown on her current road gear, including a pair of T-style Fenders and a Gibson Les Paul-hinting at two of the pillars of her inspiration: Collins and Free’s Paul Kossov. Love Joanne Shaw Taylor's sound and gear rig. Very british bluesbreaker. She is amazing. 1966 was when i was born in San Fransisco. Her guitar is as old as me.
I've been a fan of JST for at least 10 years, but only found this today. She is just amazing live. Control and energy is what she has. She reached that level of playing where you can't see what she is doing. I've seen her live twice and she is awesome. And she still seems to be down to earth.

I love her live performance - saw her in berlin this year - and how basic her setup is, it´s all about playing and the feel of the blues, not about the gear. Joanne is one of my favorite blues artists.
She is gorgeous and has a beautiful soul. Most of all i love her playing. She isnt afraid to rock out a bit and i like that, God Bless you and your band and family. i could talk to her all day.

Saw Joanne when she played on a Trower tour a few years ago, had never heard of her til then, I was well impressed.
If you haven’t yet seen Joanne live I humbly suggest to so when you get a chance.
Saw her last year in Phoenix at Music Instrument Museum. The acoustics in the theater there are phenomenal.
Cool story about Albert Collins. I saw him several times when I lived in the Chicago area . Also remember seeing Deb Davies with him a few times. Albert loved to play .
They mentioned Albert Collins played Bassmans however he also used Quad Reverbs.
Love her ! She was at Kent Stage in Ohio a few year’s ago, great band , she is super cool!

I've seen JST four times, met her four times and she is the most humble and gracious person you could ever meet! She puts on an absolutely amazing show and hangs around afterwards to meet fans! one of the BEST shows you'll ever see! Don't miss her! :D

Anyone watching this that's not familiar with JST, her singing is as just as good, if not better, than her guitar playing. She's the whole package.
Apparently not familiar with singers. She is a terrible vocalist. I never,ever 7nderdtand a word she is singing or saying. And noone else does either. I've been saying for years she needs a vocal coach. Without one she will never achieve above garage band singing.
But one hell of a guitar player.

Seen her from the early days in the clubs and the set up hasn't really changed that much. If your happy and it works why bother.

I think she is an ok (ish) player but there is nothing special there in notes, for me anyway. I have tried to listen to her a few times.
ALLAH TAALA ABDALRAHMAN Yes I agree. Lovely person but as a guitarist she fills bars with way too many notes and not enough melody. It seems to be the fashion these days. Can you name just one famous guitarist who plays slower like Albert King? I can’t.
Go see her live, it makes a lot more sense, she puts on a great show.
I hate when people talk about 'vintage' guitars. That thing was built within living memory. The entire vintage instrument market is a fictitious con dreamed up by the major manufacturers. Christ, nobody gave a blind toss about Les pauls until Slash. A telecaster is a cheaply made bolted together piece of shit. A 200 year old violin might be vintage. A fifty year old mass produced plank is not.

Meh, her voice is "passable' as an "almost" Amanda Marshall clone, but her songs seem prosaic and regurgitated and her guitar playing is surpassed by just about every 16-year old I see in the local guitar shops.
