- Here's the review of the new upgraded version of the Proxima PX1703. The question is though, is it an homage of a Zodiac or a Christopher Ward?

Wow that is the lumiest lume I've ever seen on a bezel! A really nice looking watch all around, and ideal dimensions for me (6.75 inch wrist). Love the black boarders around the indices. I've wondered why all white dial watches don't have them - the indices just blend into the dial without them. However, the lack of a black boarder around the date window struck me right away. It could really benefit from one. And I think a lumed date wheel would really work great here. Excellent review!
Absolutely. Yeah, a black border around the date window would finish it nicely. Making that date window lumed would take it to the next level. Cheers.
I also have this watch and agree with your review. Great build quality and wears great on 6.75 in wrist. The added micro adjust bracelet took a great piece and made it better.

You’re definitely consistent and fair. I also think this is currently Proxima’s best watch. I really appreciate Proxima including the new clasp for their $200 plus watches. I think Proxima is ready to start branching out to more original designs though. Thanks for the great review.
Thanks. Yeah they seem to be heading the same way as San Martin, so maybe we'll see some more original designs soon.

Próxima could take it to another level by moving the date to 6 o’clock position, putting a black border around it and luming the date wheel! I agree with you that the hands could be slightly longer. Also I will get the PT5000 version..

Yeah a lumed date wheel would be a cool addition. I always prefer having the date at the 6 o'clock position as well.
Great review, they have made a cracking watch there 👍 . I like the CW case, but I'm not keen on the hands CW use, so I actually prefer this. As you say, I wish the hands were just a little longer, but I've seen worse. If they do a version 2, a black rectangle drawn around the date window, ideally the same size as the nine o'clock index would really finish it off or swap the date to six as you said.
Cheers mate. Yeah it is a cracker. But as mentioned, with a couple of little tweaks it could be even better.

Really nice man. I need something with a bit of orange. My only real gripe with Proxima is, the lack of alternative bracelets. These scream out for BoR, as well done as their oyster style are. SM have nailed it with different bracelets. Proxima should definitely step it up
I'm wearing my 1697 and that says limited edition on the case back as well. It's the black and gilt one and definitely not limited haha

They really are both quality pieces. Is that orange sand dune 5303 homage from IX & Dao? I don't think I've seen that one.
I have one and really like the style (and the price).
However, mine have some rough edges, like the caseback, some links if the bracelet and the clasp.
I don't feel it on my wrist but on my hand when I put it on.
The case may be inspired by CW, but dial and hands are clearly homaging Zodiac! Sadly they adopted the biggest flaw of the Zodiac which is the minute hand, it's just too stubby.

Good video and review. The watch looks great! However, I held off picking this one up. All three hands are off.
Thank. Yeah they are all ever so slightly shorter than would be ideal, but it still looks good I think.
The color is a bit too much for me. I really love it but I wish they offered a different color black or gray…maybe even a light mint green. Great review!

I was going to get this, i already have the all white dial with black bezel, but then I bought a zelos mako 3 in the cracked ice colorway. I might still do it at some point. 😅
Zelos do make some great watches. I've only fairly recently got into them myself. But I have 4 now though. Making up for lost time I guess 😆

Wow this watch is brilliant, I got the PX1697 a year ago and it's been fantastic. Really wish I waited awhile to get this one instead!

I like the green one, but we’ll see once there’s more reviews and images out there, kind of hesitant to spend almost $300 on an aliexpress watch
Apart from the few minor issues I mention in the review, it's a great watch... It's one of my favourites at the moment. The build quality and specs for the money are good when compared to the bigger brands.
Like the case, dimensions, colour scheme, bracelet etc but feel like the branding is off with these. I like the logo they use on the crown, maybe they could use that to make it stand out a bit more. Dial just feels a bit empty to me. I feel these kind of design elements are the last piece of the puzzle for a lot of the Chinese brands to really go up a level

Yeah they just haven't updated the pictures from the older version yet. It still shows the older style clasp too. But they do mention the clasp being updated. I'm guessing the crown was upgraded at the same time.

A couple of little tweaks and it would be even better. But I'm still really happy with it as it is though.
I would probably buy one of these if it had a sterile dial option. Something about the brand name/logo annoys me. Sounds like a budget SD card manufacturer.

Nice watch but it seems every watch coming out these days is 39mm , just too small for a lot of blokes . I hope they start making 40, 41, 42mm again soon .
