Here's the review of the Baltany S4056. The best Explorer homage, or the best vintage Explorer homage?

That brown dial is just lovely. Looks beautiful and I'm glad Baltany went with this instead of artificially aging their black dial to get that tropical dial look.
Same here. It looks fantastic doesn't it?
@@HonestWatchReviewsHWR certainly. Though I'm surprised people actually went for the black dial rather than this one at Baltany's website. This one fits with the fauxtina lume and you get a beautiful sunburst brown dial and not some grody faux-tropical dial.
@@tdugongAgreed mate. I'd go for the brown dial as well... 😁
That's insanely good. I'd call the more recent release the actual vintage homage, but in any case. Baltany did an outstanding work and i'm definitely getting one.
It's a stunner isn't it?
Could you please do a video changing the bracelet for some straps? To elevate the look or make a little bit of a field style, great review by the way!!
I know what you mean about the fauxtina, but it works really well on this watch. Another great video James, keep it up.
Cheers mate 👍
great review i bought the same one in black and i love it
you forgot to mention the black nato strap that comes in a box
@@yuvalkogen4602 Thanks. I'm glad you're enjoying yours too. I don't think mine came with one, from what I can remember.
Great review, that brown dial is gorgeous, 36mm is just too small for my wrist, so pleased when you said there is a 39mm will take a look
Thanks. Yeah it's good that they have both options.
Absolutely love the brown dial and light patina on the indices. Truly beautiful combination.
It's a little stunner isn't it?
Yes, a real GADA. I picked up the 39mm version on the latest "Ali Anniversary sale", and can confirm that Baltany made the updates to the 39mm version as well; signed crown, all brushed bracelet and signed clasp. I'm in the middle of moving and have been wearing the Baltany Explorer nine times out of ten, forcing it to endure some really rough treatment, and the watch has handled it all like a champ. Definitely my favorite Ali watch so far. So I might actually pick up the 36mm version as well, even though the 39mm version feels ideal with my 19,5 cm wrists.
I've been finding it hard to take this one off too. But I have to so I can test out other ones I have in for review.
Which dial colour did you go for in the 39mm version?
@@HonestWatchReviewsHWR True, the pros and cons of doing reviews 😅
I went for the "Amber Enamel Red" on the 39mm, that I guess i would refer to as the "brown" dial. But then I see on their web that they also have a "Tropical brown dial" with printed indices for the 36mm that looks nothing like mine. By the looks, mine is the same dial as your 36mm. Slightly confusing. 🙃
@@springbay1 Interesting 🤔
They also offer the 39mm with the SW200 movement for an additional $150. Any thoughts on which movement is preferable between the NH38 and Selita SW200? I like the smoother sweep of the Selita but have heard there have been issues with it. Great video!
@@alank.2245 I personally would be paying that much more for the SW200. If they offered it with a PT5000, then I'd probably go for it... As that's also a clone of the ETA 2824, like the SW200. But it costs a lot less, as it is Chinese and not Swiss.
Great review So do you think this model is better than the San Martin explorer 36mm?
@@neilparkin2008 Thanks. Yes, I do.
I have the Baltany 9039 and I love this brand - such wonderfull watches
That one is very nice too. I love mine as well. Which dial colour did you go for?
I can confirm this is a great watch. I've got a ton of affordable watches but I wanted something that looked great in the office (where there's Longines, Omega) and for v formal events (but wanted to spend
"Champagne tastes, cider money" 😆 I like that.
Nice watch and a fair review. I’m not sure on the vintage look but I’m sure others will love it. I’ve got the Cronos explorer in blue and it’s exceptional in its execution with many positive comments from friends. It also has the choice of movements as I’m not a big fan of Seiko movements.
I couldn't tell, but do you like that dial ?? LOL
Baltany make a cracking watch and this is no exception.
Oh did I forget to say? 😉😆
Nice watch even though the bezel looks too thick IMHO. I wonder if this is due to the tophat crystal and if they had fitted a flat crystal they could have avoided this issue.
If I was in the market then it would be a hard choice between this and the Addiesdive AD2112.
Your photography makes it look fantastic 👍. I think the brown dial and that beautiful crystal make this Baltany much more appealing than the standard black/white Explorer homages (or the original) with flat sapphire.
Thank you very much mate, I appreciate that.
Yeah I agree with you there. It just adds a little something extra doesn't it?
Nice review, good looking watch, the dial is clearly the star of the show. My only issue is the proportions of the hour and minute hands. Feels like the hour hand could be a touch longer and the minute hand a touch shorter but 🤷🏻♂️
i love you so much! I recently just found your nkuwan and i’m in love!! Your videos are so fun and you energy is just MWAH! keep living your life
Err bit creepy 😳
Stunner. I like the brown dial as well. I’m a “Date Only” guy, but I may make an exception for this one. I really had no interest in vintage style watches, but Baltany is slowly converting me. Thanks for the great review! Now that you mention it, the Baltany logo could be a tad lower.
Isn't it just? I absolutely love it... Especially the dial.
I think it's the best explorer homage with that chocolate colored brown dial. The sunburst works really well with this color. The indices are big and readable and the proper movement is a bonus. Still, I'm not a 36mm fan. I like the 39mm version. Thanks for the review.
Yeah absolutely. I love the sunburst brown dial... As you could probably tell from the video.
Hi.. i have a question.. is the brown dial rounded from the edges?? Or it’s just s reflection??
I really hate those Rolex type casebacks. If I needed to open it up to regulate the accuracy I would have to find a special tool. Why couldn't Baltany just use a normal caseback? Pretty much an automatic deal-breaker for me.
Cracking review, I love mine, stunning wee watch
Thanks very much. Yeah it's a stunner isn't it?
Love me some vintage dials. It would have to be a good sale before I'd buy one, but it does look good.
Well you know AliExpress, there's always a sale not too far away.
Is this and 39mm s204035B the same brown dial ?
They offer this brown sunburst and a rather dull matte black. I would like a glossy black instead. But on the positive side: Baltany do what San Martin Martin refuse to do: give us proper no-date movements.
A glossy black dial would have been nice.
the outer dia is 36 mm , what is the inner glass dial dia?
Hey mate, just curious, what do you do for work, and what watches do you tend to wear to work?
I'm a Night Support Worker in a homeless hostel. I've just finished a shift now, and I was actually wearing this one.
@@HonestWatchReviewsHWR cool, do you tend to just wear anything to work or do you wear dresses down stuff, like field watches and the like?
@@jamessaund Pretty much anything really.
@@HonestWatchReviewsHWR damn, that's worthy work. Honest work for an honest watch reviewer
@@kennethg9277 Thank you.
I like their watches but 36mm is just too small for my wrist. 😢
@@seranadesongs That's unfortunate. What size wrist do you have?
Im just confused between 36 & 39…. My wrist size is 6”
I'd say that the 36mm would be best for you then.
I really like this. Would def have the 39mm version
The brown or black dial?
@@HonestWatchReviewsHWRthey call it RED on Ali ?
@@serenityinside1 Yeah I don't know why... It's clearly brown.
I like this style of watch but getting tires of homages - Baltany build great watches - this watch without the Arabic 3,6,9 and Mercedes hand and I would order today.
Yes the brown is realy great, very nice...i remember an old rolex day date in gold with brown who was realy great, rolex have to think in copy his homage...
Now that would be something 😆
Called RED on Ali not brown - I’m confused! 🤔
@@serenityinside1 Yeah it is odd they called it red for some reason.
Can you get the Sellita in this one like in the 39mm version?
Not as far as I know, no.
I keep seeing different colour versions f this but never pull the trigger and I don’t know why?! Not a fan of the new logo
What other colours have you seen other than the black one?
@@HonestWatchReviewsHWRthey said Red enamel on their site now NOT brown !
@@serenityinside1 That's the same one... They just call it red for some reason though.
really really nice watch
I know right. Are you tempted to pick one up then? 😉
@@HonestWatchReviewsHWR I am afraid not. Just put an order on a Grand Seiko yesterday... Take care!
@@cedarcanoe Very nice 👌 I'm guessing you won't be buying anything else for a while now then?
Beautiful watch, but too small for my gorilla 8 inch wrist. Pagani "Air King" will have to suffice...
How about the 39mm version then?
@@HonestWatchReviewsHWR that brown dial is gorgeous. However, the "in between" dial 5 minute markers of the Air King and the green second hand and writing on the Pagani really do it for me. Guess I better get both...👍
@@klstay Now that's a plan 😉
A shame they didn't just scale down their 39mm version to 36mm in terms of proportions. The larger bezel really ruins it for me.
Are you tempted to go for the 39mm version then?
Only chinese brand that achieved something important, giving emotions.
Hopefully it's a good one.
I just don't understand why manufacturers like Baltany or San Martin don't bring out independent watches with a simple design.
This watch with sword hands and round indices instead of numbers would be a no-brainer for me. For me, it's just a cheap (albeit good!) Explorer copy.
Great watch, 38.5 diameter would be better..
36 is too small for me, but regardless I won’t buy a watch now without an on the fly clasp.
So, the 39mm can't tempt you either then?
Best watch I have found with an explorer dial is the Dryden Heartlander
That does look quite good. Although it is quite a bit more expensive though. Which is to be expected.
Che prezzo ,,io ho un super clone Rolex Explorer della clear factory ,ce lo dà un anno pagato 400 euro ,,ma è semplicemente magnifico,,devo dire che sono di una quantità ottima ,,
Voglio provare questo marchio !
660 ft equals 201.168 meters. The dial is a LIAR!
Man, your better than that. The click bait title is unwelcome to a regular.
It's not clickbait... I'm asking the question. Also I genuinely think it's the best Explorer homage that I've reviewed... And I've reviewed ones from Bliger, Phylida, San Martin etc.
I’ve got the 36mm version and I just simply love it! The watch is immaculately finished, the lume for a GADA watch is great and that crystal is the best crystal I have on any watch. There is a fault with the clasp that gets stuck when trying to take off the watch but as the watch is otherwise so good, I can get past it! Great review!
@@ladykoala208 I'm glad you're enjoying yours, and that you liked the review too 👍
It's perfectly fine. It's phrased as a question and almost all channels are saying the same thing. Absolutely fair
How's it clickbait when he's asking a question ?
It's a watch review channel so everything is an opinion to start with so nobody can state what's the best or worst.
I believe no man can say no to #nkuwan
New friend here sending may full suppor nkuwan
