This Mass was sung on October 15th, 2023 at Ave Maria Catholic Church.

Hi Sarah! I'm an organist at my parish and occasionaly direct the choir, but always struggle with directing Gregorian Chant - I don't know how to do it. For what I've heard in the recording, you do it greatly. Did you learn it somewhere? Is there any manual book? Any tips?

Hi! To be perfectly honest, I'm very new to chant conducting and am still learning as well! However, here's a bit of info that may be helpful:
Get a Parish Book of Chant (it's full of chant hymns and useful information in the front and back!) or download it here media.musicasacra.com/books/pbc_2nd.pdf learn what the ictus is if you don't know yet, and use the info in the book as a guide to finding where the ictus should be placed and identifying the groups of 2 and 3. Mark the music that you want to direct, drawing all the ictuses and circling the groups of 3.
