Might guy didnt actually need all 8 gates... The studio later revealed in a live Q&A guy realistically only needed to use up to 6 but they wanted to end the season with a "bang" with a cool and flashy fight (which they always do with their season finale fights)

I'd argue All Might is far stronger than anything Guy's 7 gates have shown. Although the 8th gate is still far beyond anything All Might could handle without the speed to outlast it. Especially since he lacks the additional quirks One for All has with Deku

Awesome! Glad you reacted to this one as it’s one of my favorites! I was actually betting on All Might when I first watched this, but that was probably more of my MHA bias coming in.
Fun fact: While in this fight Might Guy went up to the eighth gate, the cast later revealed in a live show that Might Guy really only needed to go to the sixth gate to defeat All Might. They just had him go to eight in the animation for the entertainment/coolness factor.
