I just realized that anecdot told by Gedeon is actually from the journal of Polish nobleman, Jan Chryzostom Pasek. He quotes the story of a man who participated in battle of Vienna in 1683 and after coming back home, dressed in Turkish clothes, he indeed scared his own father to death. "Prank Gone Wrong" 17th century edition.
I think that the script should be written in Latin to keep the spirit of that century ;-) That was a language of well educated people in our Commonwealth, not only of the Catholic Church. Many World-known Polish authors of that era published in Latin.

I think its a natural battleplace for so many different styles of swords to cross each other. You have the Rapiers and the Longswords fo the west and the northern powers but also the curved sabers that are more distinct in the east and south.
@@cuffzter Rapiers were really common in france, longswords all around europe used by soliders, sabers were most popular in poland, russia, baltic, and turkey. Not correcting you or anything. I just want to clarify some things.
Have you considered adding Eastern elements? It would be interesting to see Tatars and Ottomans with Yatagans and Kilij and their fighting style. It is 17th century Poland afterall, right?

Given how revolutionary the gameplay is, they totally could've coasted on that and just phoned in the soundtrack, giving us something lackluster, but it's great!
The Demo was refreshing! I'm sure you hear it all the time, but I loved Bushido Blade as a kid. This has the spirit of that game, but this leans towards a simulation rather than arcade action. This game stands out.

There is nothing worse than English dubs giving people "accents" which are supposed to speak their own native language. If a native Polish conversation is portrayed in English, I want the speakers to have native English accents, not fake Polish ones.

If you show me someone who is supposed to speak Polish, or Ukrainian or whatever, dubbed in English and he speaks his English with some some kind of foreign accent, what you're telling me is that this person is speaking Polish with a foreign accent.
In the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth the official languages ware Polish, Latin and Ruthenian. Also German with Yiddish dialect and Baltic languages ware vastly used. Smaller minorities ware as diverse as Scots and Tatars, so for the authenticity there should a multilingual, mixed language version with the subtitles, something like the communicate in the one of the official languages, or Polish mixed with latin, as they used such a combination and swearing or comment in native ;)
Lore : Bounty Hunter finaly find 2 Bandit and the fight keep on untill they need a draw and they drink all together and respect each other. (It make sense that way)
One question: Will we ever get swords and characters from Asia? Like Chinese dao, katana, Khanda, shashmeer etc Edit: The game is set in 17th century Poland No luck for eastern swords.
China is a big market today so the chances are there. Its not far fetched for a mongol or a chinese soldier and even a japanese sword user/ninjas to show up similar to Samurai Shodown. But yeah, don't expect anything since the developers are not making any promises for East asian characters to show up yet.
The three male characters wield the Polish Szabla, which are a part of the common Steppe sabre tradition and influence, together with Turkish Kiliç, Iranian Shamshir, and Chinese Dao. Only the two girls uses Western European styles and form of sword. If anything for a 17th century Polish-Lithuanian game, an Ottoman character wielding Kiliç as their adversary is a must.

the dev said somewhere else that hed love to add a katana wielder at some point. Also, as someone else pointed out, it could benefit him to add a chinese swordsman too for marketing purposes. I mean its not difficult for the lore either, just do a shortcut of some asian prisoners, or some asian traders with armed body guards which end up fighting and there you go :) To me the most important thing is that theyll keep the game as simulating\as real as they can. I think that as long as it stays 'short meele range oriented' they literally can add every sword they want.

It's set in the 17th century Polish Lithuanian Commonwealth. The guy in red who is referred to as a bandit is a landless polish noble, 10% of the Polish Lithuanian Commonwealth population were nobles who often turned into adventurers or bandits. The old man and the other guy are both Ukranian Cossacks, I presume the old guy is a Ruthenian noble in the PLC but I might be wrong. The girl is Swedish from what I remember but I don't know anything else about her

So if the guy tried to fire it anyway, it would make him seem like very slow or stupid to most of the audience. At the same time it's unlikely that those viewers who don't understand why she poured the drink in the first place would then understand why the gun doesn't fire when you show them that it doesn't.

There's "Potop" 1974 or "The Deluge" in English, a classic Polish film based on a Polish book from the 18th century bearing the same name. "Colonel Wołodyjowski" 1969 and "With Fire and Sword" 1999 are part of the same trilogy with "the deluge" 1974. There's also a TV show produced by History Channel "Zrodzeni do Szabli" 2019 meaning "Born to the Sabre".

I would much prefer if the final product had OG Polish VA with an option for subtitles. For authenticity.

Hyped for the Game playing the Demo usually about an hour a Fax day. Just for good measure ;)
Iv'e already got the demo it's a bit weird. I'd like to change the attacks to my mouse. The gameplay feels like it could be going somewhere.
You can rebind the keys in the setting, not sure how well it'll work with mouse though, since there are four buttons for attack.
