This is the best video! Thank for the helpful information. We saw progress after just one day of implementing your suggestions! You are helping athletes all the way in Arizona. Thanks again!
My daughter's a 1st time hurdler (8th grade), she loves it, but is getting very little training from her coaches, so we're going to do as much as possible on our own with your help
Great to hear! We have a full course that really goes into the details which could really help if she isn't getting good training from her coaches th-cam.com/video/saXeCg1Azjg/w-d-xo.html
Yay! Thank you. Some basic hurdling tips to help with continuous movement through the hurdle. Very, very helpful to laying a good foundation. I liked the talking. That's what coaches do...and we love them for taking the time to care and share. Now that we covered the lead leg, what about the trail leg and the arms?
Yes, when starting out it's especially important to get in reps using proper technique. If you practice bad technique you will develop bad habits that will become very hard to break as you progress.
Are you talking about the drill at ~3:00 min? If so that one is ~2 hurdle lengths. Set the hurdle to the lowest position, tilt it over until its flat on the ground, mark that spot and repeat at that spot. Quick way to measure out the distance when setting up.

Just have the standard hurdles set to their lowest position. The distance apart in the second drill is 2 hurdle lengths (you can use the hurdles to measure).
@@OutperformOfficial I’m currently doing that, I started with 70 cm hurdles, next month I’m gonna try with 80 cm and I will increase the height until I am able to overcome 1,06 m hurdles.
@@simonegranelli4009 Some hurdlers have exceptionally "springy" legs. I am 6' 0" and one of my toughest competitors in the 110m HH (39") was your height. You can do it. College high hurdles (42") may be a different story for you. Three-stepping is mandatory.
@@doughoffman9463 Thanks for your answer. I decided to switch from 110m hs to 400m hs because hurdles are shorter, but I knew that some hurdlers are around my height, for example Eric Edwards Jr, who is 5 ft 9' and run in the 110m hs.

Thanks Kenneth! Here is a video on the trail leg th-cam.com/video/tqCkXXAG61Q/w-d-xo.html
I started hurdling and would you say repetition helps? I am fast and I can easily get over a hurdle but my form is not the best

It really helps. Thanks!
Thanks for the video😀😀😀
Love the video. Wanted to know how far apart are the hurdles for this drill?

@@OutperformOfficialThank you so much 😊
Great video with some great info guys!
Thanks!
The best guide👍👍
Thank you, glad it was helpful!
Does anyone know what height collegiate men should be using on the stationary lead leg drill?
Depends on their height, hip mobility experience etc. Typically you can start lower ~ 36" and work up to 42" (106.7cm)
@@OutperformOfficial cool, thanks 👍🏻
So what your saying is it is ok if your lead leg is straight over the top as long as I am leading with my knee?
You got it!
How far apart are the hurdles set on the lead leg drill you demonstrated?

Both legs are in the the starting blocks, lead leg is in front.
If I am 1,75 cm high (5 ft 9’, I think) am I tall enough for the 110m hurdles? Or should I try with the 400m hurdles with lower hurdles?
Start off with the lower hurdles and work your way up.
