At my first look it looks like they did. The game definitely could use improvement, but honestly if released today it would fare better than GEvo. My main issues with GEvo were stability and connection issues, and I don't remember experiencing any in Mecha Break. And while not the only reason, it was probably a sizable reason why a lot of players left GEvo.
Oh hey, Zander the Legend! Something I do miss about Gundam Evolution was the smaller community, because you got to kind of personally know the aces. Here’s to a fresh rivalry in Mecha Break. I’ll be waiting and watching.
Never knew about Gundam Evo before now but it seems cool, sad it's gone, feels similar to Evolve Stage 2 to me, really cool game but I never got to play it before it shut down
O man how much i miss Gundam Evolution. Break is s a cool little game though, i hope is full release will be good. O man watching all the names in the Gevo gameplay gave a lot of newtolgia (like smothie king haha) Being two shot by Barb, i felt that as a Hyperion main.
Gundam Evolution had so much potential. It was a real shame that Bandai did not want to properly support it. I'm hoping the same won't be true for Mecha Break. I definitely enjoyed the CBT while playing with some friends from GeVo.
@@zanderthelion9537 the big problem with Gundam Evo was that whomever made it didn't feel like they know Gundam as a whole, much less making it feel like one. The hero shooter genre sure didn't fit the Gundam IP outright, but the roster they ultimately picked & grown made it even more questionable. The era & suits they chose were too inconsistent, you'd have grunt suits like Zaku & GM going against actual hero units of the series like Nu & Sazabi. Not to mention their choice of weapons & G-maneuvers that often didn't fit nor even were shown in the source material, like Exia using its daggers as primary thrown weapon instead of its short GN Rifle on its sword. People who doesn't know Gundam might not mind this much, but this is a big turnoff to Gundam fans. So without Gundam fans to carry it, and without hero shooter crowd that demanded better gameplay, maps, & customization...it's bound to die off. At least now, it's on the hands of fans with fan servers.
@@TheRibbonRed I agree on many of your points. The suit selection was weird and should have covered a wider range of series. There was definitely issues with the G-maneuver balancing and pure laziness with the 00 suits all having the same g-maneuver. For customization, what they should have done was use it as a pseudo way to include more units in the game. The original Gundam could have also included the Gundam MK-II skin. Zeta could have had OG Wing. The GM could have been from multiple UC series. Maybe some of the abilities would start to not make sense but they didn't anyways and would probably make a lot of players happier. Unfortunately it was clear that whoever was in charge of the project (be it Bandai or someone else, I'm not sure who made all the calls), just didn't really care about the game. A lot of the support was just lackluster, almost no advertising of the game (I lucked into finding out the game had already released and didn't even know there was a competitive scene until the following January, they should have advertised in game), and never addressed a lot of core bugs in the game that never stopped happening. I'm hoping the same won't happen to Mecha Break. Like GEvo, it has a lot of potential.
Gundam Evo I loved it, wise there was a severs we could still play it on but if there is one thing I know about Japaneses company is they will protect there copy rights like its there life and milk it for all it has.
WHY gundam evolution? its a completely diferent genre! its like comparing gears of war with overwatch. look at the game mecha break is literaly based on, GUNDAM EXTREME VS.
I'm sorry that you didn't like the video. I have not played Gundam Extreme VS as I did not own a PlayStation at the time. I just thought it would be fun to compare Mecha BREAK to the last team based mech game that I played. Is there a type of video you'd prefer to see in the future? I'd love to hear some feedback.
@@zanderthelion9537 its not that i disliked the video. i just found the comparison nonsensical. as for the game, you could look up its gameplay. and you understand what i meant. gundam extreme vs is hands down one of the best gundam games ever made. still being played competitive to this day.
@@marcosdheleno Oh I see what you are saying about GXVS now. I definitely see the similarities to MB. It's a cross between MB and traditional fighting games. Next time I'm at an arcade I'll see if they have a GXVS game. I'm in the US so it sounds like it'll be rare for me unfortunately.
@@marcosdheleno I'm still watching a video about EXVS and it definitely supports theories that Bandai didn't care about GeVo because it seems like they don't care about any of their Gundam games as apparently they didn't even advertise games related to EXVS. Which, as a gundam fan, is very disappointing. At least EXVS is getting more support than GeVo did.
@@zanderthelion9537 they probably wont have it in the arcades. extreme vs has a weird japan exclusivity. you can get the ps4/5 version that has basically every dlc(at least it did when i saw it, dunno if they released more) AND yes, it is a fighting game first.
I'm sorry you did not like the video. I thought it would be a fun comparison to make as I was not expecting to enjoy MB as much as I did GeVo. Is there something you'd prefer to see in the future?
Use to play Gundam Evo so much, it had so much potential. This looks really interesting and I hope the developers put a lot of effort into this game.

I don't know if I'd call myself a legend lol! But I'm definitely looking forward to playing with and against former GeVo rivals :)
