This is what differentiates him with his rival, LeeChongWei most of the time. You can clearly see it in their body posture, not saying LCW is bad but LinDan just simply gives off a king's aura. Even the way LinDan celebrates like a sparta or somewhat.
LCW is probably more skillful than LD, but LD mental strength is really what gives him the edge over LCW. History would have been different had LCW won the few close calls in those big games, but LD just had the better mental fortitude.

And neither of those guys could match peak LD. Prime LCW got close in skill but lost 70% of the time. Momota would have been crushed. We're currently going through a very weak era of badminton where probably only Axelsen and pre-accident Momota would even compete in the Golden Age with LCW, LD, Chen Long, etc
Lcw was never a real rival 27 to 11 is 71% Victory to ld, n 100% in all important finals like Olympics n world championships, lcw wasn't a long rally player and was less strategic than LD
Not true ... the scores were extremely close in some of the big finals against LD where LCW were leading in the final stretches ... its a rivalry, sometimes things keeps tilting one way in close matches so the h2h hides how close those matches were ....
