Minor correction to the lighting section of the video as kindly pointed out by viewers, when using HDRI's be sure to set the "Legacy Gamma" value to 1, as opposed to 2.2.
That will save you having crazy blown out images 😁

Thank you so much for taking the time to explain all this. I started using blender 4 years ago and after 2 years I already felt like I knew the shader editor like the palm of my hand, which is the only reason why I didn't want to switch to Octane. Despite it looking so freaking cool just having all my nodes switched and renamed seemed unnecessary. Now I get it, they're fundamentally more complex.
Definitely gonna be checking some of your videos dude, thank you so much!

Definitely need more tutorials on octane, I wanted to use it badly but shaders are so frustrating for me because I used cycles so long and I can create so complex materials with my eyes closed, but when it comes to new engine it’s always a pain, your videos about octane are not just basic stuff that no one gonna use in real projects, so it’s really helps when things shown on real projects like the one with product render, definitely helps a lot for understanding some nodes

17:27 you actually do have F stop section in Cycles as well, it's under DOF and under Aperture.
25:47, it's true the noise options in Cycles are kinda limited compared to Octane and Redshift but actually adding more noises in literally the most requested feature in Blender on Right click select, so hopefully in future they'll add those other types of noise patterns in Cycles as well. But funnily you can find more noise types under the displace modifier lol
Vertex displacement in Octane looks very dope. In Cycles, adaptive displacement is something I use and it's really really good. Instead of subdividing something a million times, you just use adaptive sub d and Cycles basically subdivides the object based on how far away it's from the camera gradually. Really cool and saves so much memory and yet gives a better result.
Tbh, now with real-time GPU viewport compositing in Blender, it's easier than ever to use post effects like bloom and glow, lens distortion and CC in the viewport and have everything be work in real-time on GPU while being procedural and node based. But if you want something like this in Cycles, there are many addons for that, Quick compo is one of them.
Octane seems like a great render engine and combining it with Blender is amazing. IMO Octane is really good for those who want photoreal renders out of the box without much tinkering or too many nobs for flexibility. I personally mostly use Cycles because it's fast and it supports both CPU and GPU and it runs on NVidia, AMD and Intel GPUs and it's very well integrated in Blender and it does everything I need it to do but it's not perfect like every other render engines. Cycles can also give you photoreal results as well but you might have to tweak a few things a bit just like any other render engines like Arnold or Vray or Renderman and use maybe ACES or AgX color transform instead of Filmic for that as well as do some compositing. Cycles is used pretty much by 99% of Blender users and can produce high quality renders for animation, movies, VFX (Makuta used Cycles in the movie RRR not only in Blender but also in 3DS max with Cycles port and also RealByFake uses Blender and cycles for movies and TV shows) etc. as well. But if you're already familiar with other render engines and depending on what you're doing, it gives with the result that you want with the familiar fast workflow then absolutely. The more 3rd party render engines Blender support, the better it is for users who are using Blender. The more the merrier. But I'm a bit curious about if you're gonna use cycles in future or not or you've fully switched to Octane.

The only thing i notice is that you didnt put your RGB image for the HDRI at a gamma of 1. Blender needs this to handle the colors and values properly. You dont have to do this with textures ui believe. But Your HDRI doesnt blow out when you put it to Legacy Gamma 1.00

In the xompositor you need to take the denoise pass to get the denoised image. I think its implementation in the virwport is wrong. Wowser they implemented octane in a very confusing method with some panel not being active but settings still work. For instance, that focus point, even though it's in that inactive panel it can still set items. That's really bad UX design. I also don't understand why they don't use a pinhole or none focus portal nt by default. Same as that user needs to do a tons of work before getting started. Really wonder why they made a custom build, but not took the time to really setup defaults properly
