Yes, I once had someone spit take a double shot of whiskey, out there mouth and nose, even choking, when I said “here’s my clean tone,” and was using a Fuzz Face, with my volume knob down, for that great clean a Fuzz Fave can get. What made him nearly choke, was when I said “it’s my clean, snd I can still do this…” as I dined my volume knob, and the Fuzz came wailing. He was not expecting that, and his eyes looked so confused. 😆 He realized what was happening immediately after, but you really brought that memory back. Thanks.
Having your printed comments on the screen as you're going through the sounds is a good way to do it. It was easy to understand and listen at the same time.
I love that you said just flip the knobs and switches! I love playing around with new things trying to just figure it out without following any instructions!! This thing sounds awesome!!
Yet, at $400 the statement that “…not even studio compressors can do…” doesn’t matter, because no one will use this for what those studio compressors are used for. We’ll see how “classic” it becomes. I’d love to have one, but everything in the Chase Bliss video, I can do with my board already, except the noise gate, which I never use, unless recording. Even then, I hardly ever use them. The stereo spread, and tones are no different than things I do with multiple pedals, or just with the DSM Humboldt a drive lot boost and the Blackout Effectors Whetstone, with a stereo pedal at the end of my chain, that does the same thing this pedal does. Except I can choose stereo panning, or in parallel, with ability to change how fast it pans, and even volume and depth of the right and left spread, so a Parallel mix, has more options. Again, I’d love to have one. EQ and/or volume, is all on needs to make a gain tone, like what this pedal does. Will it sound as good? Depends on what one likes, and uses to get those tones vs. this Clean pedal.
Awesome pedal, and great demo! It's great to see a pedal that has a ton of vibe that can be applied in a wide musical context! I'm looking forward to seeing how this will sound on my acoustic rig!
It might be just me but u needed a extra second or two to read as and listen to what you were doing other than that great demo of this nice piece of gear that I now want
This may possibly be, my 1st Chase Bliss Pedal purchase? I'll bet it would sound incredible, paired with a low-gain Quality Overdrive? They really pack alot of tonal versatility into their pedals. Nice Demo. oNe LovE from NYC
@@seanervin7183 Oh they do.. you get lots of bang for your buck with CB pedals..tons of features,I have Mood1, 2,Blooper,Lossy,Onward on my Pedalboard..endless fun..
"Dusty" mode is exactly why I use the Revv Tilt Boost with the drive switch engaged all the time. This is all in all a pretty cool pedal, and it might just be the pedal that replaces my Para EQ and Origin, because it is a single box!
It seems promising. Someday, some musical genius is going to do with that pedal what Kevin Shields did with a vibrato bar, tons of fuzz, and a reverse reverb: make albums that girls and boys in their 20s play on repeat for over a year. Or not. Alls I know is that there are two types of pedals: ones made by amateurs who understand fourier sequences and general wiring: and these contain a lot of good, classic effects. Then there's the second type: ones made by electronic engineers. Dangerous in the wrong hands, but capable of doing things that type 1 isn't. Clean is type 2. As someone who's just a few credits shy of a M.S. in mathematics, I've been around for a lot of "which STEM field is the hardest". The conversation lasts until someone says "electronic engineer", and then everyone shuts up because critics agree.
I like how it looks, I like the idea, I like the sounds. But most of all I like that I don't want it. I just 'finished' my latest board and I'm super happy with it, so the last thing I needed was another chase bliss pedal on my radar. But well done, it's going to be killer for the right people out there. I do however think it's maybe time for CB to revise their typical pedal format. It's pretty dated now and whilst it works well, I think there are opportunities to improve via a V2 hardware interface
Blues players would say "this isn't a clean tone this is a heavy crunch tone only a 1945 Les Paul Deluxe plugged straight into a serial # 5 or lower Dumble is considered clean tone smh"
I used to play with a compressor but felt naked without it years ago. I felt like it became a crutch and wanted to be able to control the volume and response more with my playing. I feel like it also brings out more of your own signature feel without one.
I went through the same journey, I do love compression but there’s nothing like playing a gained up amp and using the volume knob and playing for different tones.
"What if clean was as interesting as dirty?" Jamie West-Oram of The Fixx. The King of Clean. The only player ever whose tone I tried to duplicate. Never got there. If I can get close with this, I'm definitely interested.
@@RhettShull ok, before I even hear any of the songs on the album, here is my suggestion. My living room amp is a 2 watt Fender Greta. To achieve any reasonable volume it will get dirty. Will this pedal allow me to crank it yet get clean tones? (Not a genuine question, because thats not what the Greta is for, but an answer would be appreciated anyway)

Bass part was from - “I’ll stay” D’Angelo and the rh factor, originally Funkadelic
Modern classic in pedal terms, I also like the design.
