You can work in us, shitting on us gov and say what they done is shitty and disgusting, and you will not face any reprecussion or anything close to that. It's different with china gov in context, like you can't really "openly disagree" While work there cause the gov will not let it slide and riot/tencent sill be given hard time because of it. Means you need to asslick the gov and pretend everything is good when you choose to work/associate with china (as a country ofc not the people). I understand that the news in the west is what people in the west watch to see the rest of the world, but it’s through a narrow lens. Albeit that most people who believe Xinjiang mass genocide of the Uyghur population has never stepped foot into Xinjiang once or even China at that. I know it’s hard to make the move to travel, but I want to stress that not everything you see in the western media is true. Someone once said that people can lie to you, but your eyes can’t. What you see is what you see, so go out and see the world yourself and then judge it. Don’t let others judge the world for you.

    1. China gov limit the amount of children the immigrant are having thus effectively cutting their growth to minus but they still can marry local people and get assimilated (this is consider genocide btw)
    2. The immigrant need to follow China culture and laws obviously
Imo i think it make sense, if u don't limit the growth of the immigrant there will be palestine and israel situation again where Israel who was coming back from the holocaust overwhelm the palestine whos been in there for quite a while with number of new people born and indoctrinate that they need to take their land back

I respect his decision but the Xinjiang bit was just expected to someone who's never been there.
Its a great place, ppl might think the Uyghurs are oppressed there but they're not, local government body there are mostly Uyghurs. People live in harmony there (my relatives are literally mixed). Sadly you won't find the full context in western media because of sinophobia

Respect the reasoning behind his decision but I do want to mention that the “genocide” in xinjiang he’s talking about is western propaganda at its finest. There are initiatives in China combatting extremists for spreading terrorist material but there is no targeted killing or genocide for Uyghurs. Not all extremists in China are associated with Uyghurs either.
I’m fully expecting my post to be bombarded with comments like “So did the CCP pay you to say that” amongst other sinophobic remarks and just want to say I will not be responding to anything non constructive.

The man have all the right to express his own opinion and his view on why he doesn't want to go. By no mean in this clip he's stating a moral high ground above other or that people who are going doesn't care about these issues. If anything, sideshow got more of my respect for having a firm stand on these controversial topics while risking his own livelihood. People going to say he should also address the atrocities done by the western world (since he's from the west) or else he's just a hypocrite, and I completely agree, but do not diminish what the man had said.

The fact he brought all this up and talk about Gaza is quite confusing. I don’t think he knows much about XinJiang, not more than some Western narrative.
