    I'll be back here after the release, but I feel that I'll agree with your review. As told today on IG (Bruce V), i don't like so much "Midnight Sun", i am not really appreciating that kind of voice in that kind of song. I know that we can't have everywhere the "Devin and Anneke" effect, but this duet really left me "meh".
    BTW, I am pretty biased when we talk about Kreator (as Cattle Decapitation and Obituary) and yes... i've pre-ordered the cd (but not the collection set).
    P. s. I am more into the "new" Kreator sounds even if I agree with the comment read there about "too much blahblah Satan", but the box "Under the Guillotine" is just fire and I will be never thankful enough for the raw rage expressed in albums like "Extreme Aggression" or "Pleasure to kill" (anyone said "Slayeeeerrrr", there?).

    Nice review! Haven't received the vinyl yet but I found all three singles underwhelming and uninspired, plus I think the album title is quite cheesy. BTW, Future Tense by Sanctuary is another song containing the word future. Cheers!

    I've tried but the modern Kreator sound just doesn't work for me that well. I pretty much tap out at Extreme Aggression, and really, I play Endless Pain and Pleasure to Kill the most. I did see the band live about five years ago and it was a great mixed set of new and old, and they still brought it live.

    • @PossessedByMetal666
      @PossessedByMetal666  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I can understand that, EA! And yes, it's great that the band still plays some old stuff live. 🤟👊

    • @bschuler6216
      @bschuler6216 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed. Although I really, really do dig Enemy Of God. But of course Kreator has never again sounded the way they did on Pleasure To Kill & Endless Pain (not even on Terrible Certainty, where the ridiculous, relentless, brutal, sloppy sound of Kreator got more produced and refined). No more songs sung by Ventor either, lol.
      But today, I wouldn't even label m.j them as thrash. They're more of a Stockholm Melodeth/traditional Metal band that puts one or two thrashy bits on an album.
      Hordes Of Chaos was super thrashy, BUT it lacked any melody or songwriting, & bored me to disdain.

  • @paulseidler1644

    Jealous you got an early listen! Lol. I have to wait til June 10th. I loved the singles, including the experimental midnight sun so I just have a feeling that this could very well be my favorite modern Kreator release. The last 2 albums were front loaded with quality but seemed to lack in the later tracks. Something about this release seems to be more...creative than Kreator has been in recent times.

    You've made me so curious! I've sat and mostly just listened to the video with my eyes closed trying to imagine what the songs sound like. One more reason to be disappointed the release date got pushed back a week.
    PS - No Future (Cattle Decapitation)! Also... Future of Mankind (Judas Priest), As the Future Repeats Today (In Flames), Dead Eyes See No Future (Arch Enemy), Future Madhouse (Gamma Ray), Spirits of the Future Sun (Soilwork), Future Ages Gone (Warbringer), We Are the Future (Stratovarius), Future On Hold (Amaranthe)... But I got a little worried when I heard your review Jason, but when I now have thought about it a day or two I’m not worried anymore because I have liked every Kreator album to date.For me the problem with newer Kreator is not the music but the lyrics,Satan is real and those type of lyrics, I would probably liked them 40 years ago but now they are just stupid 😔
