Thank you for making and posting. This is where the majority of my people originate. I was adopted into a wonderful family. My adopted mother is from a proud Ulster-Scot family, so I grew up with some of the culture. I did DNA testing with several companies, and everyone I was related to were descendants of Montgomery's, Snodgrass's, Liddell's, etc. This is like looking at a family tree! The legend is that the Montgomery people originated in Wales, so it fits with this.
David Melville is the name left September 1956 and never knew that surnames emanated from Renfrew. And being an ex pupil of Blythswood Testamonial and Renfrew High School I am sure quite a few folks will read this with a deal of interest, great to see the photos of the old town, my thanks.
