The maker of this canoe can add floats to the side (that you can snap on) - to add even more stability.

Just a little FYI, Silver springs used to be a zoo. You can walk or ride the trails from the campground towards the headsprings and see a lot of the old cages.

After many years of motorhome, travel trailer and 5th wheel camping, we jumped into truck camper life and bought an Arctic Fox 811, we love it and hit the road when we can.
I took out my back seat to mount my fridge. You could remove the back seat and mount a slide that your bike or bikes. And have more room for stuff, you always need my stuff room. 😀

That is such a cool row boat…it should be called a Row-a-gami because that’s what it reminded me of when you were putting it together. Great underwater video…looked like the manatees were playing opossum at the bottom of the lake, or were they sleeping?

Wow we need one or two of those (we have 3 Boston that all love the water). I’ll throw out a couple suggestions for you’re storage need’s since I’ve had several 2500 rams and used them to haul our lance 825 truck camper. On ours I made a bar that attached to the ladder that the front fork’s attached to once the front wheel was removed. The two bikes stowed vertically next to each other, you could also stow the folded canoe on the ladder as well but it may not be as easy to lock down. As others have mentioned remove the rear seat or remove the larger 1/2 of the back seat. This one is just a heads up, if you have the transforce tires on the truck plan on replacing them at 20,000 miles and if you havent done so already add airbags and a bigger rear sway bar. I wouldn’t do a front rack either!! Safe travels. We head towards Florida on Friday! Can’t wait!

Many years ago, I used to canoe the silver springs river while recovering from ACL knee surgery. I actually went down to Gainesville Florida for the surgery. The Shands Health Center had one of the top knee surgeons down there. My (then) girlfriend arranged the initial appointment. Got cut into two days later. Florida is a difficult place for a kid from the mountains of Montana to adjust to. Hot, humid and full of big bugs and snakes. But I survived, though the relationship didn't. I'm glad I went down there to experience Florida. I now know that hot humid country is NOT a place for me. Does Silver Springs still have the monkeys living amongst the trees there? When I was there, the monkeys were quite prolific. Carey On!
They do still have the monkeys and although we think we have heard them before we have yet to see them. Would love to though!
@@CareyOnVagabond back in 1988-89(?)[my memory is slipping a bit.], the monkeys were everywhere. I seem to remember that they had become a bit of nuisance back then. Carey On!
You need to do the canoe every 3 months so you dont forget how 😊

If feels like you traded a van garage and roof garage for a truck back seat. I think a 4x4 van probably wiuld have bridged the gap between the promaster and a 4x4 pickup, unless you are really wanting to step it up in the offroading department.
It wasn’t really the storage that caused us to make a switch. It was a number of things. The biggest was probably after 6 years full time in a van we wanted something different. So far we’re loving it:)
That was WAY too cool! We just saw tons of manatees at Blue Springs State Park (FL) - but not from a fold up canoe! Another nice FL State Park if you're in that area. You guys make us want to consider different rigs - we're going to the Tampa RV show - you never know!

Having that exact truck and planning on getting the Cirrus 820, I am curious what your gas mileage, handling, etc. is like. I know when I pull my boat, it drops from an average of 15+ down to about 8 or 9 mpg. Maybe you can do a video on that someday? I am really enjoying your content, keep it up.
Thanks. So far so good. I had air suspension with an on board compressor. Handles well. Haven’t checked mileage much yet. Lots of in town stop and go traffic getting about 10 or a bit better.

Here it alternates with rain, snow and cold. I have started making fishing flies as a new hobby, but it may be a long time before I get to try them. Super nice to see you again.

Not sure of the material in yours, but even with my aluminum or fiberglass canoes, I keep ‘em on grass vs. any hard surfaces. Looks sooooo cool!!

I'm impressed by how stable the MyCanoe was as well! Especially when you stood up. We are considering inflatable kayaks, SUPs, or something like that. Possibly. It would be hard to access though. As we spend more time in it we are realizing we actually have a good amount of storage!👍
