Enphase prepopulates available grid profiles in the installer app based on location and allows the installer to pick the correct profile. Does Hoymiles require you to actually go to the POCO and manually retrieve that data?
How does the end user / customer app stack up? I use Enphase for my own house and the app is top notch IMO, and customer service, for the little I needed it, has been really good. I want to use Hoymile for my next system, mainly for the output, so my fingers are crossed the app is good too
@@ebsanu No, not yet. I can say that they use a DTU ( Data Tracking Unit(?)) that communicates with the micros. Enphase has a comm unit (I think its the Envoy) that lives in the Combiner box, and its alot more pricey than Hoymiles DTU ( its was 250, Enphases Envoy is 900). The consumption CT, like Enphase, has to be wired up by the installer. For Hoymiles it installs into the DTU, for Enphase it installs into the Combiner box. Hoymiles told me a Combiner box is not needed for their installs - just the AC Disconnect ( if its a grid tie). The only experience I have personally is Enphase since thats on my house. I like the app very much and have little to no complaints. They still actively update it, ( though theres not much left to add IMO). Its the micro inverter output that is really drawing me to Hoymiles BUT its Im wary about it being as tried and true as Enphase. I find that my micros ( IQ8+ 's) lose output around 27 - 30 degrees. Not by much, 5% max, but I really wonder how a Hoymiles can handle heat if its pumping out even more juice, especially the 4 in 1 unit. The specs say its about the same as Enphase, I just have my doubts at the moment. I feel all that heat may shorten the lifespan of the units.
It's similar. It can do consumption with the addition of a particular WattNode meter and two CT's. The meter connects to the DTU via RS485, and that allows you to have consumption monitoring, and export control if desired. I use the export control, and connect my microinverters to a 51Vdc battery through a resistor. It works great to energy-time shift.
Can you do that for UK based systems Looking to diy(with approved electrician final connection) One of our energy suppliers removed the criteria for solar specific qualification in order to feed in to the grid.
Any recommendation for a balcony setup with a micro inverter. I was trying to find the ecoflow equivalent for Canada/USA...

Did you end up finding out how the app is?

I'm getting a hoymiles system installed. Does it show you consumption like the enphase app?

Hey @solar goat, Do you have any videos on how to setup zero export?
Did you find a solution for that?
I can set up DTU Installer App accounts for DIY installers.
Can you do that for UK based systems

Can you do this for me? What will you need?
As soon as I see the word CLOUD I get suspicious somehow.....
