Back in the day before the kits, guys would change the K Frame for an 8 cylinder K but of course back then those were fairly common in the yards. Not so much now!! Good thing you're holding on to the /6 those are great engines.
Your transmission yoke needs to go into the transmission at least 2 to 3 inches more. U need a A body Mopar 318 rear dump exhaust manifold for drivers side.
thanks so much for the feedback! i really appreciate it. i’ll see how far it goes in right now. I read that i was able to use the same driveshaft from the slant so i assumed i was good. I do have a longer driveshaft from the van i got the 360. i might have to shorten that one. I actually just ordered that exhaust and received it yesterday. fit perfectly. 👌🏼 again i appreciate it! any of feed back i’m all ears.
The reason that exhaust manifold isn’t fitting with the power steering is because that’s a passenger side manifold. Not only that but the casting number is 3418623 which makes it a 71-73 340 manifold. Kind of a pricey manifold to be grinding on.
thanks man! hope your well. it’s almost street ready just battling driver side header and power steering fitment issues. After that’s figured out i’m good 🤙🏼
it was a 100$ ebay hedman hedders trans adapt kit. This was the listing “Set Conversion Motor Mounts 225 Slant 6 to Small Block 340 360 for Mopar A-Body”
the mounts i ordered on ebay didn’t come with markers on them. i installed them and when i dropped the motor in they were reversed so i pulled it back up and swapped them. took an extra 10 minutes but then dropped right in.
@@DrivewayProjects Thank you, I'm still confused. The kit I got for the 8 cyl - has two different sides. The mounts to the block on each side are different and the frame pads are different too. One pad is thicker than the other. I'm trying to figure out which pad goes to which block mount and which mount goes on which side - I'm working alone and trying to get it on the first go. Heh, Heh.
Crappy red paint work. UGLY wheels. And swapping the 6 for a V-8? YAWN. Anyone can do that, when turboing the /6 and making it fast would be much more special!
Turbocharging would be a great move! yeah i feel that the paint isn’t the best at all and the wheels are just rollers 😂 off of a ford explore. thanks for the feedback 👍🏼

Good progress! Looks great
thanks 🙏🏼 i appreciate it!
Cool video. I'm blown away you could use the same driveshaft... The 904 and 727 are different lengths.
4 inches different length!
It’s just temporary to move it around the driveway. It worked! but i’m having another shortened.

This is correct. Manifold for the driver side should come up and over.
Looking good brother

What motor mount kit did you use? I have a 73 Duster and I’m wanting to do the same swap

727 transmission
The one thing I needed to see was the motor mount configuration. Anyone know which side is for which mount? they're both very different. thanks

and mine were identical. The 225 were different. one small and one big.

Slant 6 is way more reliable.
I would have used the money to recondition the stant6
that’s the plan! I’m going rebuilt the slant and have it on the side. It’s definitely a cool looking engine with those long runners.
