You team Eruption or Daybreak?
Daybreak!
Eruption
Daybreak
Daybreak is better for (Calamity) bosses so you know my choice
ERUUUUUPTTT
-Two legendary solar pillar weapons. Do you have a favorite?
No. They are tools for spesific tasks. A preferance would be meaningless.
-I like the solar eruption.
I too like the solar eruption.
playing gow as I read your comment
@@seanzc5230 the movie or the game
god of war moment ?
Draupnir: day breaker
Blades: solar eruption
Axe: ….
Good choice, boi
I used to be a Solar Eruption guy, but I'm slowly liking the Daybreak more and more
i think bolth are great but if i need stuff for moon lord like terra blade or influx waver i would use daybreak but if i need an item for pillars like vamp knives and scourge of the corrupter then i use eruption
I agree, it mostly depends on playstyle and setups (scenarios too) but I personally prefer the eruption for hordes and such, and daybreak for bosses and tangier enemies due to its debut being more potent.
Literally me
most people are like you
Thanks
3:35, did anyone else noticed, that for the daybreak he had a lower dps, and a lower health ogre, the solar eruption had much higher dps, and had to fight against an ogre more than double the health (10000 hp ogre for daybreak, and 26000 hp ogre against solar eruption)
Oh damn you're right! Must've accidently spawned a tier 2 version oops. My bad guys, explains why it killed it so fast -_-
@@sockrteez another win for solar eruption
Honest, the daybreak v solar eruption thing boils down to whether you want direct aim or DOT
@@evandrofilipe1526 Actually, since the solar eruption adds 100 dps that isn't on the dps meter and the daybreak adds 800 dps that isn't on the dps meter, the daybreak wins.(nvm it doesn't)
@@sockrteez:DD
both?
both?
both
both is good
**nods in approval**
Real, but As a mostly Warrior, daybreak is my favorite weapon and it is definetly better for moonlord, so I choose daybreak all the way
@@Meowlegend7 truly, many times have I finishedd of melee playthroughs by killing lord with daybreak on a broom
@@Meowlegend7 eruption underrated
Solar Eruption is my favorite in terms of looks and mechanics, but Daybreak was by and far the better one against Moon Lord. It even holds up against Calamity Mod weapons available at that point in the game.. Daybreak did what most Calamity weapons couldn't for me. I used it for my first Moon Lord kill, I can 100% vouch for it, even though I doubted it at first.
Have you ever had that scenario where you are trying to interact with a chest but you accidentally fire the solar eruption and need to wait 2 seconds before the animation ends, and you hit the attack button again (accidentally) in annoyance?
@@dirtprime1379I felt this in my soul
when i was stumped on my first ever calamity run, i turned to the daybreak, and it spilit open the heavens and killed moonlord insanely fast. will always remember
touhou fan lets go
Solar Eruption is the best weapon in the game for low skills mugs that can't beat moon lord cheeseless like me
Ever since its buff, Daybreak has cemented itself as the best single-target melee weapon against Moon Lord, while Eruption can secure hits against the Pillars and their enemies pretty effectively.
The solar eruption is by far my favorite general use since it kills masses of enemies and goes through walls, but the daybreak is my go-to favorite to kill enemies from a distance. Especially for Moon Lord (before Zenith) I like it a lot since you can focus on dodging while shooting hundreds of them into Moonlord.
Dex spotted in the wilderness.
it is dex from vampire survivers
Here's the thing, the stacking damage bonus of the daybreak doesn't go away if you switch to the solar eruption. I like to use both at the same time, swapping back and forth when the lingering damage of the daybreak starts to wear off
Unless you're getting right up in the enemy's face though, Daybreak still has more raw dps than the Solar Eruption, so there's not really a point in switching.
It seems that the duality of weapon choices from the pillars were a deliberate atgempt to try and reduce the pain that they are. You beeline for your pillar, craft both weapons, and now use the one that excels in crowd control for the rest of them before switching to the other for ML.
I think a video about all the OOA armor would be cool, especially because they’re super underrated, also both eruption and daybreak are great
I don't think they're underrated. Most videos I see about them are people praising their stats.
@@duderino6171I mean in terms of people using them outside of hybrid builds. Most people also only use the tier 2 armor, and not the armor that comes after mech bosses.
Everytime i played meele i ignored both weapons because i simply dont like them. I rather use the terrablade and/or that betsy sword
Daybreak for bosses
and eruption for crowds
debate ended
Due to the Terra blade+ atk spd being crack at pillars am now been converted into the daybreak enjoyer as its even much easier to clear pillars with the Speed Terra blade compared to the solar eruption for me.
Tbh, I dislike the wasy the pillar weapons completely outshine literally every weapon option you'd have for that class, when compared to how diverse the options were post-golem leading up to the lunar events, which is mostly exacerbated by the lunatic cultist being a pushover.
That being said, while I dislike how these weapons completely outshine other options, the way these weapons compare to *eachother* is really well done.
i love that both weapons are usable in different scenarios and play styles. hard to have that in this stage of the game
Very high quality, good video :D
“more than enough to craft both”
me getting 20 solar fragments:
Daybreak anyday.
>has insane range
>has the best dps debuff in the game
>much more spammable and easier to hit than eruption
>the buff makes it so that even if you miss some of your throws the explosion after the initial hit acts as you hit a segment twice wich gives ALOT of dps when you consider the stacking feature
Solar eruption is amazing when you can come close to MLs segments but 90% of the fight i would be using daybreak as the extra range and more consistent damage helps much more.
Eruption is much better for the classic lighting your way and mob wave feature but daybreaks explosion gimmick made it pretty strong against wave type events too
When you said "has insane range" I remembered someone on discord saying that Daybreak shouldnt be melee because it has long range. It was cancer to argue with them.
@@Meowlegend7 I mean they are kinds right as many throwables are considered ranged but like daybreak is LITTERALLY a spear lmao
@@kyarumomochi5146 really
unless your dogwater at aiming
daybreak DESTROYS moonlord
but for solar eruption its good for cheese strats and pillars/events
The Daybreak absolutely clutched up when I beat moonlord for the first time the other month, on master mode.
Love that weapon, was just able to fly away taking advantage of the increased speed on the Fishron mount alongside rod of discord to fly across the map just lobbing it at the same place and harldy moving. Barely survived a wipe when my friend died just letting him teleport after me trying to heal up a little bit.
Honestly, ive never really had to think which one i liked more since i just use both when i do melee builds and iam at the pillars/moon lord, both are great!
Calamity Weapon comparison/showcase would be very interesting!
Is solar pillar weapon good?
Depends on the context: Solar eruption? Yes. Daybreak? Yes.
Answer:
Carry both after Moonlord. Daybreak before it.
I like the Daybreak because I fervently believe that the Solar Eruption plays like a Summoner weapon, and I wouldn't be caught dead associating with the dissociative combat gang
Imagine if Red gave Daybreak a little bit of homing. Like it could miss, but its easier to hit targets. (skill issue)
I've always preferred the Solar Eruption for three reasons, those being that it goes through walls, which is indescribably useful, it can hit multiple enemies at once, always nice to have, and that it just feels more satisfying to hit enemies with than the Daybreak, especially because of the explosions.
i thought it was going to be an eruption is superior situation just because of how much people love it, and i thought i would be the unpopular daybreak guy. i'm glad to be surprised.
The daybreak is my favourite moonlord killing weapon, the solar eruption is great too, too bad that they both get outclassed immediately once you acquire a zenoth
i never thought about getting both ngl maybe ill try doing that
You guys forgot the most important solar pillar weapon: Solar Flare Pickaxe.
Make a video on the Frostbrand, it's a amazing early hardmode melee weapon that's easy to get. I found it very useful and underrated due to how simple it is to obtained and versatility
Back from my 3 week hiatus but say I think 201 of asking for a pirate staff review😂
really enjoying the content, I've been watching for over a year. do you think you will ever cover modded content?
Now I’m curious will you do one for the Nebula, Stardust, and Vortex weapons?
I am personally an eruption user but i like the daybreak alot too. Also at 4:30 i've realised you got a slime staff whilst killing the moon lord which i find silly
When do we get full game progression guide with your best recommendations for weapons at every stage of the game for each class with honourable mentions and dishonorable mentions and other stuff? Like a full 30 to 40 maybe 50 minute long video going over everything in the game would be so entertaining and good to eat dinner while watching.
I craft both if I can, but if I only have enough for one, I go solar eruption to deal with the other pillars easier, and it can still deal with the moon lord well
Solar Eruption
1. High damage if up close
2. Melts stuff and can go through wall
3. Great crowd control ability
Daybreak
1. Throwable, making it feels safer to use
2. Very own debuff called Daybroken that stacks, dealing higher and higher damage the more you stack
3. Explodes when it hits a tile or after a certain amount of time on an entity
Both of them have their own bad things
Solar Eruption is harder to use as it requires you to be close for consistent dps. Which isn't something you'd wanna do in expert or master mode
Daybreak has consistent dps and can be thrown, making it a go-to for many players. Consistent dps but it doesn't have as good dps as Solar Eruption when getting close. Also not too good crowd control ability and can't hit through walls(minus the explosion)
Eruption
It’s awesome as a budget Zenith and as long as the nurse stays alive, the Moon Lord cheese strategy still works. I have been testing out the daybreak and wow it’s cool, but eruption goes first for me.
'The Ultimate Showdown'
Of ultimate destiny perhaps?
I used the solar eruption to kill moon lord. I felt that the fact that it can hit enemies multiple times, and can also hit multiple enemies made it better to use. Also, it's higher DPS can be compared to some calamity weapons.
Daybreaker as u said is more ideal for bosses but solar eruption would be more ideal to carry with u all the time for me.
I like the daybreak because I just use it for single target dps, which is mainly the moon lord. SE close range is great and all, but its dps falls off exponentially the further away from the target you are. Also, I prefer using the terra blade/flying dragon for crowd control
I wish Whip-Sword Melee Class Exist, no, flail is different, I meant whip-sword where the attack animation is the same as solar eruption and it has small damage but multiple damage instances, just thought it would be cool.
I feel that the flying dragon performs the solar eruption’s job much more reliably, so I mainly use it alongside the daybreak
So basically the solar eruption is for multi targets and events, and the day break is for single targets and bosses, also correct me if I'm wrong but i think you can shimmer the other fragments into solar fragments so you can get both the solar eruption and daybreak
Daybreak is great with tanky or low investment speedrun builds, since a lot of the dps is from the damage over time effect
....Huh
- Well thought out
- melee weapon
Bruh, its basically turns you into a literal tank
The Daybreak is definitely better for moonlord because it is important to keep your distance during the fight and it has more dps since you cant really get that close with the solar eruption, meaning it will do less. Even if you miss with the daybreak you get a much more comfortable fight due to the range.
i remember being super disappointed that daybreak wasnt an actual spear. although i much prefer it to the solar eruption i still wish it was a traditional spear rather than a javelin type weapon
Honestly, I prefer the eruption for how it allows less focus on aiming, allowing you to dodge the moon lord's bullet hell a lot easier
use the daybreak for stacking up damage and use the solar eruption for crowd control and doing high DPS
I have used the solar eruption so much I can hear its swing sound whenever I see it in a video.
Solar eruption for farming and worm bosses, daybreak for single-target or EOL.
Daybreak for single target, Solar Eruption for multi-target
The ultimate showdown of ultimate destiny
1:29 wait till they find out about nebula
Daybreak for single tough targets, Eruption for hordes. Keep em both on hand
Agreed
Hear me out, use both.
Daybreak to get them lower with over time damage, then hit with Solar Eruption for heavy hitting damage.
Can you do the other celestial fragment weapons? :)
The solar eruption just goes so hard
In my opinion the melee pillar weapons are the perfect in balance. When I'm playing melee I always use both because there a great combo.
I feel like slowly swapping from the Solar Eruption to the Daybreak is something we all did as time passed.
vortex beater vs phantasm will be very interesting
There is a tiny issue for both of these weapons tho, and that issue is the Terra blade
It has much better croud control and knockback than Solar eruption making it (in my option) better against the pillars and its easier to aim and deals simmular damage to the daybreak making it better for the moonlord as well
How Terra Blade does the same dog as Daybreak??? Am I missing something???
@@redblob8259it doesn't
@@redblob8259 You can boost terra blades dps by a lot with the right setup (must be on master bc you need all 7 accesory slots)
Armor: beetle (scale male)
Buffs: tipsy, exquisitely stuffed, rage, wrath (also you can use stuff like ironskin, regen and swithnes )
Accesories: celestial shell, fire gauntlet, mechanical glove and the rest is optional but I like to use fast wings, soaring insignia, master ninja gear and frozen shield
Reforges: violent on all accesories
legendary on terrablade
Deffinitly try that buil in one of your playthrous its very good
@@redblob8259 The terra blade is crazy with the right set up
Armor: beetle (scale male)
Buffs: rage, wrath, tipsy, t3 food buff, ironskin, regen, swifnes
Acesories: celestial shell, fire gauntlet, mechanical glove + 4 accesories of your personal preference
Reforges: violent on all accesories and legendary on terra blade
Deffinitly try that out in one of your playthrous its really good
what shader pack are you using, I searched up "lights and shadow" but i couldn't seem to find the one you are using. Help!
It took me until now to realize the Zenith is just an Eruption on Crack.
For solar pillar, I think the crawltipede and corite are the most annoying enemies because this is hard to dodge the attacks and deal high damage.
Also if you get melee speed buffs the daybreak becomes the ultimate carpet bomber
I just ended up using both they both serve their role well.
at the moment I vastly prefer the daybreak, I think it look awesome and what could be cooler than throwing solar javelins to smite your foes?? That being said, if the solar eruption was made into an actual flail it'd be a lot closer imo
I honestly don't even agree with the statement in the beginning about the 2 summoning weapons. The stardust cell staff is a lot better than people think. I still prefer the dragon myself as well, but I wouldn't say that it's a no-brainer. I still consider the stardust cells with every playthrough I do
After the buff, I think daybreak is much better on boss fights. I used it in zenith seed playthrough, at the moonlord fight
Tbh i used solar eruption each time I’ve killed the moon lord; the way i fight it just means i get tons of dps through close range fighting
Personally i use the daybreak cause of the stack and because it shares the same name as a scp
I like them both but im struggling to dodge moonlord attacks i use daybreak more often
I love the daybreak and solar eruption equally
The eruption is for crowds and eviscerated them easily
And the daybreak is for single target damage, like bosses
oh wow, ive always seen people use solar eruption for moon lord, i never realized that daybreak is actually better for moon lord.
Always been a daybreak guy will never change
The duel the universe was created for!
My first play through I went with eruption for ease of aiming and second play through used it for moonlord cheese. About a quarter into the video but I think it really comes down to aim and skill. Eruption is easier to use and has a lower ceiling daybreak is harder to aim but you get range. So for a newcomer 100% eruption on full melee, if you try a little and go full melee classic moonlord won't be too bad but in higher difficulties where player defense matters less the daybreak can prove safer
Not the cell staff disrespect
I used to prefer the Solar Eruption but after using the Daybreak to defeat the Moon Lord, I prefer the Daybreak.
What’s the best way to learn how to play the game? Should I watch a guide or just mess around in game until I figure it out
I’m sorry, did you just call the Scourge of the Corruptor “less than ideal”? We need to have a chat
I saw the statistic about people being subscribed, and I went to check the button, thinking I'd already subscribed
I was no longer subscribed
Starting to believe those youtubers saying there's a bug lmao
Love how balanced both are.
I wanna see the phantasm vs vortex beater
Daybreak good for moonlord and terrablade good against events and high mobile bosses. They live in the harmony, so comparison just needless
When I was playing FTW first time, i used daybreak and firstattempted Moon lord.
I just think that the solar eruption looks goofy as heck. Like what weapon is that even supposed to be?
Simple
Solar Eruption for AOE
Daybreak for Single target DPS
Use both, its like comparing greaves and helmets, comparing one or the other is pretty useless when you can get both with minimal added effort
my entire first playthrough was mage. The entire game. I loved it SO much. I destroyed the pillars and obtained these two weapons... and immediately fell in love with them. They're incredible. Their design is gorgeous, they're super powerful, and best of all- they're actually balanced unlike certain other pillar weapons.
I usually go for solar eruption first because i know i'm dying to the moonlord in my first attempt and solar eruption is was better while facing the pillars
Im doing a flails only run and im so sad the solar eruption isnt counted as a flail
I use Daybreak for DOT, and then switch to Solar eruption for my main damage
Solar Eruption's Ogre had 26000 hp, but Daybreak's Ogre only had 10000 hp, You gonna say anything about that?
