@@DanieleFisichella Genuine question how was that a roast? 😅 I just specified that as actors they probably are good at roleplaying, given the profession they chose etc .
A D&D (or any other role playing) game with a good GM (Game Master, or DM Dungeon Master) and a good group is a weekly 2-4 hour guided improv/mutual storytelling. Nothing like it, and it can be one of the best experiences in the world. A bad group and/or a bad GM can make it no fun, but keep looking till you find a good one. It is worth it. @@taylaparaha8628 Don't worry ! There are two ways to roleplay a character : the "My character says/does [action/sentence]" way and the 'playing the role' way. You don't have to play the role, you can just describe the actions and words ^^ play this game, it's a fun experience with a good group.
I think the DM told the story perfectly and they all genuinely seemed interested and excited, especially Joe and Gaten. I don’t think people realize it’s a story telling game, an rpg, so the DM played his part perfectly! Even the cast played into it and acted to their roles.
@ONLY COURAGEOUS PEOPLE ARE ALLOWED TO WATCH MY VID thats an odd advertising campaign. good luck with that. I didn't click the link to your channel, btw.

Idk why people are saying they look bored in this or that they don't want to be there. I can't really tell with Priah, but the others seemed pretty invested. They were always asking questions, building off of each other, and acting in character. All of them got excited about rolling high and doing damage too. Maybe it's just some people not understanding the game, but to me, they seemed to be having a good time (especially the longer it went on). I had a lot of fun watching!
"Can't really tell with Priah" shut up??? Finn looked the most uninterested if you wanna play like a fool. Priah just seemed to concentrate more- why single her out? The shade in your comment? You're an actual piece of shit
To me they seem to be concentrating, rather than looking bored. I got the impression that Gaten was the only one who had much experience playing D&D, so the rest of them were just thinking hard to keep up with all the twists and turns of a game that they weren't 100% familiar with.
@Boss Like she was probably really nervous!! Dnd is really fun but there’s a lot of elements to it and a lot of ways you can be criticized for getting something wrong so playing for the first time in front of such a big audience must’ve been kind of hellish ngl. This was lots of fun. It was great seeing Gaten as into it as he was the Christmas one, and great seeing Joe so excited by the game as well. Glad Finn was less purposely troll like as he was in the Christmas one. Priah seemed a little unsure but it was pretty awesome when she threw the nat 20 like Erica did in the show. XD Would LOVE to see (even if it took some serious work to plan) the ENTIRE cast take part in one big D&D finale adventure at the end of Season 5 (and bloody finale include Noah & Caleb - but especially Noah considering Will spent an entire season wanting to play D&D and getting ignored). :P
Yeah it was cool to see Gaten rocking the hellfire club shirt, which was my favorite addition in this season. Joe is also funny just like his character in the series
Gotta agree with you re: Finn - he really needed to be reminded (a couple of times) at Xmas, that there were other players in that game who shouldn't have had to compete THAT much for the ability to simply participate. Took me a few tries to even finish it, due to his limelight hogging ways. Yikes....
He also seems to have a wonderful imagination. That speech to the undead & what he said about death & the orange sunset light he radiates was great. You could tell he was actually enjoying this.
I can't get over the dynamic of the party, We got two characters that are the funny names, and two normal sounding names. Bonus points for Priah using Lady Applejack in both the show and IRL. It feels great.
as a dungeon master, i have to say gaten did WONDERFULLY. they all did well, but he stood out to me. i don't know how much expirience he has with dnd but he was very in touch with his character and i would love to have him at my table
I love how Lady apple jack came in at the end and absolutely DESTROYED Vecna! It's also cool how in the Stranger Things 4 series she actually did help the fire club win. So this is very full circle!! Love it!!
The fact that Dustin and Erica were the last 2 left and lady applejack rolled a nat 20 right at the end is soooo perfect. I want to see what the book is but its a one shot
Finn's reaction to the Lady Applejack 20 at 1:19:25 gave me a huge 1st season Mike vibe. That happy akward kid feeling to him because of how invested he was by the end. Nostalgia hitting hard😂
so excited for this and joe being in it! so keen to see eddie in volume 2, we need more joe content especially with joe saying he didnt undertand d&d this is gonna be hectic
Very interesting how he slices up the rules into narrative, just asking for rolls based on options he gives to the players. Feels more choose your own adventure from their perspective, with a focus on roleplaying and letting them feel like they're in control without really knowing how any of this works. God level DMing.
It's great to see. And although many groups are of like ages (based on friend groups) it's not that uncommon to see a wide range of ages around a table. Especially if it's a game intended to introduce new players. I'm in my fifties and the last game I was in (it did happen to be D&D) the other players were aged 12-17.
I can only image what Season 5 is gonna be like. My mind is already blown with what they have achieved so far and where the story line is going in the Season 4.
I love how Joseph also plays the audience at times. Like when they're really getting into a scene and he goes "mm love it." or "you're all amazing." I love how he can enjoy the game from both aspects. I'm new to RPG's. I plan on trying D&D after my current adventure is done but I just love to see that type of enthusiasm along with Gaten. I LOVE how into it he gets. He's definitely a veteran in this game, yet so nice to encourage the shyest of players to let loose and come along this adventure, sorta like a comforting blanket ensuring you are safe. Then there's the GM. AMAZING. He can truly set the scene and embody whatever villain or NPC needed. I enjoyed this experience. Felt as if I was there as well.

Since I’m seeing a lot of hate just wanted to say as someone who has never seen DnD gameplay or played the game I found this video really entertaining and cool and not boring in the least😂 I’m actually very interested in this now
It really is. I have played D&D and other role playing games like it since the 80s. It's so insanely different, I wish everyone in the world could try it. It's not just "fantasy" with orcs and elves and dwarves. There are super hero games like it, military combat games like it. Cyberpunk games (Shadowrun is my favourite role playing game of all). Vampire games. Spies. Space battles. Pick a genre, make a character, make an adventure. There's a structure, there are rules, and there are crazy dice to roll. But that's about it. It's all just a framework for this kind of crazy collaborative story telling that you can't even believe if you haven't experienced it. The best part of it, if you do it right, is realizing how incredibly creative you can be, how creative your friends are, and how crazy stories can just be born out of a group of people screwing around and having a good time.
I am just so impressed by the Dungeon Master. He guided these newbies in such a way that took none of their agency. And he helped them without ruining the gameplay. Some DMs can get too intense. While I know he was briefed to be chill because these are kid actors, I wish more DMs would run their games with kindness like this especially with newer or more casual players. B. Dave Walters just gained a new fan in me.
"Vecna's dead!" "So it was thought, my friend. So it was thought." Just now realizing the foreshadowing in this. Critical Role is amazing I think you might want to check it out
I love that they had the universal D&D experience of latching on to some random npc that wasn’t supposed to mean anything to the story
I feel like maybe they were aware of Stella before the game or maybe they just are naturally good role players since they did seem to know the NPCs and have some sort of chemistry with them.
@@thilypad557 I guess they all are professional actors so that probably gives them some headstart in the roleplaying department of the game.

@@DanieleFisichella Genuine question how was that a roast? 😅 I just specified that as actors they probably are good at roleplaying, given the profession they chose etc .
D&D seems like an improv actor's dream come true. So many characters to embody and winding story to push forward
Joseph trying to not to laugh the whole time and Gaten having a blast is just beautiful 😂
They're all such great actors. Priah and Joseph are a lot shyer than I thought, and they play very outgoing and outspoken chracters.
Priah seems like she wasn’t sure at first maybe a little nervous but eventually she warmed up to it and enjoyed the story telling aspect of it
@Boss Like i think priah is just shy, she seemed like she wanted to participate but was hesitant to
To me they seem to be concentrating, rather than looking bored.
I’m nervous enough for joining my first campaign next year and it’s just with some of my closest friends
I absolutely love the fact that Gaten is the only one (apart from the Dungeon Master himself) out of the group to wear a Hellfire Club t-shirt. God I love him

Glad Finn was less purposely troll like as he was in the Christmas one. Priah seemed a little unsure but it was pretty awesome when she threw the nat 20 like Erica did in the show. XD
Would LOVE to see (even if it took some serious work to plan) the ENTIRE cast take part in one big D&D finale adventure at the end of Season 5 (and bloody finale include Noah & Caleb - but especially Noah considering Will spent an entire season wanting to play D&D and getting ignored).
Yikes....

Can we just talk about Joseph sitting with 3 actual kids and is playing Dungeons and Dragons😂 This is hilarious to see outside of the show
It's great to see. And although many groups are of like ages (based on friend groups) it's not that uncommon to see a wide range of ages around a table. Especially if it's a game intended to introduce new players. I'm in my fifties and the last game I was in (it did happen to be D&D) the other players were aged 12-17.

As someone who is used to playing basketball as a game, this is on a whole other level of creativity and intellect.
I’ve never known anything about D&D, but this was fantastic. I really enjoyed it.
You should look into playing. This is pretty much like what most D&D games are like compared to a lot of other games you may see online.

I am just so impressed by the Dungeon Master. He guided these newbies in such a way that took none of their agency. And he helped them without ruining the gameplay. Some DMs can get too intense. Dave Walters just gained a new fan in me.
