You realize damien didn't actually make the campaign. He actually took it from a 3.0 campaign D&D already had and reskinned it and added some stuff to make it seem his own it's not. Any hard-core D&D player knows the campaign he's "made"is fake. Also let's talk about how they only do this for clout. Even Damien has said I don't rreeeeeaalllyyy like D&D however it's ok and fans dig it so we play it.

Damien has found his calling, this is like the 10th time I watched these so far. The campaign is fun and alive, the cast is perfect and I could ask for nothing more.

I just adore how when Gunthar was introduced he kept asking Dolores and koda to keep Bug away from him but like Bug instantly won him over in the carriage and they just are best friends now with Bug cuddled up next to him just chatting and I feel like Gunthars energy is just “I just found this, and if anything happened to him I would kill everyone in this room and then myself.”❤
"What does that look like to you?" instead of "How do you want to do this?" is such a breath of fresh air. Critical Role has had such a huge effect on DM style over the years that seeing Damien having his own style which takes good ideas and tunes them to fit him just shows how much of a natural he is.
"What does that look like to you?" is the same as "How do you want to do this?" mechanically speaking. It is a good idea, for sure, but it is literally the same thing, just worded differently. NADDPOD does that too, but says "Finish him!" a la Mortal Kombat.
It’s Dimension 20. Damien watched a lot of Dimension 20. He even did the “bup-up-up-up” thing when he was counting the damage on that first attack. That’s Brennan 101. Not saying that’s a bad thing, though. I LOVE D20 and I think it’s an incredible source to take inspiration from. I just found it really funny that Damien did the same little noise Brennan does when he’s counting dice and I had to say it somewhere.
I didn't expect the halfling grandma to be the horny character that hits on everybody but I'm all for it. Also love Bug's personality of being insecure wanting to prove themselves but not really having to cause everyone is just so supportive. I'd expect her big bad to be one that plays exactly on those fears.
Can we just appreciate the sounds the editors put it? Like the horse running and neighing, the wind, the birds, the doors creaking, the whistling etc. It just brings everything to life

I can tell Damien put a lot of effort into this and he did such a great job with making the setting come to life, it was fun imagining what things looked like!
I think there's a natural transfer of skillsets between improv actors/comedians and D&D. I always describe D&D to new players as "It's like Whose Line Is It Anyway?, but the only game is Scenes From The Dice." And we all know Amanda is nothing if not an improvisational artiste.
I just have to say, I am so very happy that there are closed captions for this video, as someone with auditory processing issues, this makes the difference between understanding and enjoying a video ❤

Fernie is right, you can choose your family. You have mother Delores, little cousin in honors Bug, Cousin Koda who is definitely a drama king, and youngest kid Fernie who everyone has decided to protect.
That sounds amazing! Another option could be a bunch of images set as a slideshow advancing as the story goes on, I assume animation could take some time to complete.
Every DM needs a player like Angela with a wide eyed wonder and appreciation with how the DM and other players contribute to the narrative and the ability to have amazing contributions as well
HUGE shoutout to the editors! It was such an immersive experience with the background noise, the music, the cuts between the players, everything. Also great job to the art department on those character drawings. I hope this never ends, I love it so much.
Angela playing a boisterous goblin and Chanse playing an elegant elf are just so on-point; i remember a funeral, i forget who was the cadaver, where Chanse was described as having biblically-accurate eyes; the ethereal beauty of elves can also be a bit unsettling to other races

Yeahhh I’d love if other cast like Arasha or Tommy pop in for NPCs or something! Damien is doing a really good job with it though! I’d hate for him to be coming up with all these new voices every single time a new character pops up lol. But I guess that’s kinda what the DM is for?

As someone who has never played D&D, and knew nothing of it until this video, I now want to play D&D. Damien is such an enthusiastic story teller, he should volunteer at libraries reading books to kids. And also I WOULD ACTUALLY DIE FOR FERNIE AND CANT WAIT TO SEE HIS CHARACTER PROGRESS.
There are many websites dedicated to finding groups and with online tools now available it is super easy to get into. I hope you do. It is my all time favorite hobby

I love how much Shayne is playing into the wooden warforged character, not just in the speech but also in describing how even things like perception would be different
Good idea to get the proffessional voice actor to be the DM. Also fun to see people who make characters for a living actually like, make one and just stick to it, hopefully this will be fun for everyone.
I think I may be adding Damien to my list of favorite DMs. He did so well! This is so chill and light hearted. I adore it so far. This is also a perfect short first session to show to friends who are interested in playing D&D but dont know what it looks like yet.

Fernie is right, you can choose your family. You have mother Delores, little cousin in honors Bug, Cousin Koda who is definitely a drama king, and youngest kid Fernie who everyone has decided to protect.
I feel like the further we get into this campaign, Fernie and Bug will become really good friends.
I can also see a friendly(??) competition brewing between Bug and Koda! I wonder how far their spats and one-upping would go.
I hope we eventually get an animated version of this. I need to see Fernie chugging a barrel of mead

That sounds amazing! Another option could be a bunch of images set as a slideshow advancing as the story goes on, I assume animation could take some time to complete.
The best part of was Fernie being so clueless they literally couldn’t be charmed.
This is like hearing a book while watching the characters have dialog live. Beautiful idea whoever came up with this.

Shayne's character, immediately, is exactly what I expected from him and it's perfect.
HUGE shoutout to the editors! It was such an immersive experience with the background noise, the music, the cuts between the players, everything. Also great job to the art department on those character drawings. I hope this never ends, I love it so much.

Angela playing a boisterous goblin and Chanse playing an elegant elf are just so on-point; i remember a funeral, i forget who was the cadaver, where Chanse was described as having biblically-accurate eyes; the ethereal beauty of elves can also be a bit unsettling to other races
This was amazing! Someone should animate this if it hasn’t been done yet. They’re all so good at describing the scene and characters, it would be so awesome.

No, his perception is 1, so he simply couldn't pinpoint where Chanse's character was pointing. Also 'girl' doesn't rhyme with 'squirrel'.

Yeahhh I’d love if other cast like Arasha or Tommy pop in for NPCs or something! Damien is doing a really good job with it though! I’d hate for him to be coming up with all these new voices every single time a new character pops up lol. But I guess that’s kinda what the DM is for?

As someone who has never played D&D, and knew nothing of it until this video, I now want to play D&D. Damien is such an enthusiastic story teller, he should volunteer at libraries reading books to kids. And also I WOULD ACTUALLY DIE FOR FERNIE AND CANT WAIT TO SEE HIS CHARACTER PROGRESS.
D&D is so much fun to play! Gotta find a group, but that's getting easier and easier nowadays.

Good idea to get the proffessional voice actor to be the DM. Also fun to see people who make characters for a living actually like, make one and just stick to it, hopefully this will be fun for everyone.

I think I may be adding Damien to my list of favorite DMs. He did so well! This is so chill and light hearted. I adore it so far.
