Respect man. See I feel the opposite but I still carry my Hellcat every day. It’s just so comfortable and I’ve trained with it so much that it’s second nature to me. Thanks for the view and comment!
@@biscaynesupercars The Hellcat is smaller, lighter, easier to conceal, and easier yo carry. It's just as reliable as the Shield, and it's well made. The Hellcat also had factory 11, 13, and 15 round magazines, so you could carry at the maximum 15+1 rounds in a small package. The Hellcat's slide stop isn't stiff and will function as a slide release. On the Shield Plus, you can typically only get 12 rounds into the 13 round magazine for a long while initially. I own four 13 round mags and it's almost impossible to get all 13 rounds into it. I had the original Shield too. I see no real reason to upgrade. The only reason I did was because of the rebate. I like them both, but keep in mind that the Shield isn't a micro 9mm. As far as the trigger goes, they both have 6lbish duty grade triggers. They both have APEX triggers available if you choose to upgrade.

2 great pistols but I think you did a good job showing overall the Shield plus is a better gun. Surprisingly (made in USA) Shield Plus quite a bit cheaper to buy as well. How you can say the S&W is considerably bigger and bulkier is beyond me. As you say tho - To each his own. Test both and pick the one that feels best to you
@@spnfirearms with you on that. a lot of people think springfield is a US made gun...for instance their 1911s have serials that start with one of two prefixes, one prefix over the other is said to mean more than 50% manufactured in the US, the other more than 50% manufactured in Brazil. The guns are both manufactured and assembled in the US, even if on that run they only manufactured a couple of parts for the pistols, they will assemble then entire gun here too. I got tp review a springfield mil-spec 1911A1 and I tell ya that thing fit my arms and hands like it was an extension of my own body ❤
I actually prefer shooting my hellcat more than my beloved M&P shield 2.0 now. That wasn't the case last yr. I shoot the hellcat better because of the trigger. so, normally rotate both guns in the summer. But with everything that's going on out here, I need capacity. So I ride with my hellcat in the summer.
I enjoy shooting my Hellcat...but forever I used to carry the XD40, and that was snappy....the 9mm does not bother me in the least, and it is accurate AF. Another gun is gonna have to show me a lot to make me want to switch it out.
I’d like to see a hellcat pro vs shield plus. I know the shield is probably the best and least recoil. In California these are about the same price even tho the hellcat is bigger. I’m tall and thin so I don’t think size would be an issue even if I could carry here. How do they compare? Does the extra barrel help accuracy? Does the shields trigger make up the difference? Is the reliability difference enough to choose the shield anyway? Thanks
I'm thinking i need to start with the Shield Plus and really learn about the micro nine world but when i get CCW'd, move to a P365 (night sights and, yes, safety are appealing) or Hellcat (better rep) with trigger guard snap on cover.
Hellcat is very snappy but shield plus fells better and less snappy in my opinion tho I love Springfield echelon and xdm- elite 10mm I gotta go with shield plus
I own both, these are NOT range guns, The Hellcat NEVER gets left behind. The Shield is good believe me, BUT BUT for their intended purpose the Hellcat is better, even in the micro.
good job continuing to prActice and train with the hellcat. we just filmed a battle of the sub compacts with these two this past saturday and doing my seo this morn came across your video. good to see yoi again i just commented on one of your others last night lol!
Trigger is Not that good on the Shield given it’s ergonomics that first feel amazing, but the higher bore axis puts my finger above the trigger safety and I have had straight BLOCK out on trigger depression. That would equal death in a life or death situation. I have since squeezed past it and broke it in some so it’s better
I picked up the shield plus and the casings keep getting flung back at me so much that I switched over to the mod 2 instead when I go shooting at the range and shield plus for conceal carry, is anyone else having this issue?
Good review BUT do NOT “slip that into a pocket”. You will eventually shoot yourself. Get a holster or get a LCP with a long trigger pull if you want it in your pocket.
@@TheTopGun920 you have a good point, however, guns like the OLDER LCP and the s&w 340 PD have triggers with a heavy pull incorporated into the design specifically for that purpose. They are true carry pistols OPPOSED to a similar sized “micro” 9 that is NOT a pocket pistol. No different than why they made the DA/SA actions on guns like the M9 or USP. The first pull in DA is more of a safety feature.
I literally don’t want to buy the Springfield because of the name hellcat like come on really they couldn’t name that something other than that what is this new age Mopar drivers
The name originates in fighter planes in WWII.. The Grumman F6F Hellcat replaced the F4F Wildcat, the company liked cat names. It also replaced the USA’s chosen fighter the F4U Corsair. It would be replaced by British planes after the war and succeeded by the Bearcat within the company. It’s also the first official flight demonstration aircraft of the Blue Angels. Anyway, I quite like my Springfield.
How can you summarize that the Shield Plus is "much bigger and bulkier"? That is not what your review showed. In my opinion, your review sold me on the Shield Plus because of superior trigger and more comfortable to hold and shoot. If it is a tad bigger, that certainly does not offset the positive things about the Shield Plus. It would be nice if your review was more objective, like weighing the guns and trigger pull weight. Sorry, not impressed with your review at all.
Notice how he said the Hellcat is better in terms of *concealment* and how the M&P is better in terms of shooting, feel, etc. Not sure why you’re getting upset.
Not really upset as much as was disappointed it was not more objective. Did not mean to come across upset. I ended up ordering a Shield Plus with Crimson trace red dot yesterday. Thanks for the feedback.@@texanerection492
Like he said for comfortable concealment get the hellcat im sure you can overcome the snapiness with practice at the range
