Another great video. Ireland is shaped like a saucer - the mountainous bits are around the edges for the most part. There are still beautiful sights to see in the midlands but as you say, not from the motorways. Many thanks Scott - keep 'em coming - glad you came to the Emerald Isle.
Citylink is a great service, I use it a few days a week for my work commute. They've some of the best drivers out there and on occasions I've left something on the bus they're right on the ball and have got it back to me with no delay.
T 2 is used for flights to America mostly. Reason being one does U S immigration and customs in Dublin. So you land as a domestic traveler in America . Straight out of airport after collecting baggage.
Yeah it's a godsend. I used to fly to New York and Chicago and the lines of people waiting to go through passport control at those airports was mind blowing - Going through Dublin helps you avoid all that.
Love Eireagle .. drivers are supportive if you turn up early or late and office support is also good. Always imho on time too. My only gripe is that WiFi and on bus charging cannot be relied on.
Went for the same walk with my wife a few years ago the walk along the river and down the other bank is a good way to spend a morning, I spoke to a limerick native a couple of weeks ago and she said that you survived stab city, glad I didn’t know that colloquialism before we went for our walk
I think coach prices are inflated for airports. The National Express service I use to get into London always stops at Heathrow, and it's always cheaper to take the same service all the way into London and take the tube back out than it is to just get off at Heathrow.
Its about 20 years since I was in Limerick, we visited there and Galway on holiday. They were undertaking a huge civil engineering project and the B&B owner asked why we were there as no one visited Limerick who wasn't working on the project. I know it rained a lot and she said Ireland will be a great country once they finish the roof! Also used T2 at Dublin recently for a Transatlantic flight and its wierd entering what is part of US territory when you go through the US customs. US flags and photos of Biden and senior politicians staring at you. Great terminal though and very quiet.
Sorry to be pedantic but the zones after the pre-clearance areas, such as at Dublin, are not part of US territory. Even if you have passed the pre clearance checks, you're still under the jurisdiction of Irish law, until you've departed on your flight. CBP officers at Dublin can't detain a person unless they suspect them of carrying a weapon, obstructed a CBP officer in his duty, or having committed an offence under Irish law. In any such case the detainee must be handed over to the Irish authorities to be dealt with under Irish law.
@@pingu255 Yes, I remember back in the early 2000's when the US and Ireland were stuck in negotiations because the US wanted part of the airport to have the same status as embassy territory, ie to be US-owned territory so that the US Customs clearance could be operated under US law. Ireland held out for two years and wouldn't budge, and the US eventually caved. This is why US Customs in Ireland is a much more friendly process than in the US - no shackling of passengers, less invasive body searches performed under Irish law, etc.... and, as you say, the US Customs personnel cannot arrest anyone - suspect passengers must be handed over to the Irish police.
From my experience, the buses/coaches in Ireland are usually a more expensive option to the trains, however, they usually go to more places because of the somewhat cutback rail network.
@@RobbieB2024 As I said, from my experience: bus from Dublin Busaras to Wexford O’Hanrahan is €20 one way; train from Dublin Connolly to Wexford O’Hanrahan (the most expensive, fully flexible, fare, mind you) is €12.95.

I'm from Limerick, City link is so expensive compared to Dublin Coach (big green bus). €10 from Limerick to Dublin City centre or €12 to the airport via the red cow roundabout.
It costs nothing to subscribe! I'll be catching up with Steve Marsh this Sunday. It's always nice to catch up with someone with the same career choice as me.

I'm very well familiar with Dublin Coach. I would say however for the extremely low price you pay the service is acceptable and they provide services where maybe other providers wouldn't. Where I live for example, Dublin Coach have resulted in a service which is half the price it was and with double or treble the frequency. There have been some breakdowns for sure - they tend to use buses that are second-hand with many kilometres covered but thats how they keep their costs down.
Not really. The bus company just pays an annual fee that's built into the ticket price. The sticker on the bus windscreen is read by the auto-booth and the barrier lifts.
