Yeah. Great to see you in rank 2 american. I totally agree with you about this p38e. I win much more money with. i feel overhaul confident and usefull to the team. Airspawn, central weapons, firepower survivability.
Almost every game begins with at least one bomber down. And i can fly with one engine down.

I wasn’t really interested in American fighters other than the Corsair which I rushed to get when I came back to the game and it being an energy fighter I love it. I typically fly German 109s and I ran a few games recently where I had to dogfight a P38, and wow they spanked my behind so badly. So yesterday I finished researching and got my first p38 and it is so much fun and absolutely hits like a bus. VERY quick kills and has such great power to climb back up and even out turn most planes. I love it. Thanks for the review of the plane and all your work!

Love the P-38E, such an effective beauty of a heavy fighter. With a bit of side climbing, you can do so well in it for very little invested effort as long as you don't get clipped somewhere important.
absolutely, she's great, dont need too much sideclimbing, only on bigger maps.
I love the more aerodynamic looking cooling scoops on the engine nacelles. Such a damn good looking airplane.

I'm glad you've been recording and teaching how to fly on these older models, sometimes the patches and updates changes alot on how you have to operate certain machines, hope you post more of these to people like me who can't afford to buy one helpful thingy or another but still grind hard to go up in the tech tree without paying a dime

after playing the german fighters at first, the p-38s and spitfires felt like cheating to me.
the climbrate was insane. and i never felt that with any 109, except maybe the F 🤗

Out of all the American fighters, I'd have to say my all time favorite to fly out in the game would have to be the Lightnings. While I may call the XP-55 Ascender my baby, It doesn't quite compete with a Lightning in my mind

i reviewed all the me 110's in the past, and i dont like the me 410 after the first one. The br's are to high to my taste.
The P38 and the p40 are my favorite planes in rank II USA. I have not flown the G model p38 yet so idk if its better than the E model. Great Video! o7

I love this plane ever sence this rewies I been using it and I been having blast in arcade bot so much arcade is verry hard with it
its still a big target, and as ppl can spray more in ab, thats a dissadvantage. But she's great non the less.

hey jengar I really like the p38 honestly, but i know you have made many videos on ki 44 a few years ago but I wnat to see how much you like it now since you havnt made a video on it in a while.

I’m back! P-38E feels so blatantly opaf. With interceptor spawn it is almost guaranteed to be above everyone else. I played it on a reroll account and it’s so opaf that sometimes I forget about the speed limit and rip my wings when diving on the highest enemy. Absolutely opaf plane, highly recommend. Same goes for P-38G-1.

I just cant seem to make the P38 work, If I dont get a clean shot on my first target, ill just have a 109 turn in on me and tear me down in the time it takes me to circumnavigate the earth as I turn towards the airfield
i like to play agresive in this plane, the armament is fantastic.

I have no idea how this plane can come so easily to you, I’ve had nothing but trouble trying to use it. I guess it’s because I’m fairly new to the game, so maybe the p38 is just not noob friendly at all.
i think that might be it. It rips in long dives like a yak, it cant turn, and she's a big target. She's unforgiving. But she's an interceptor, airstart, decent climbrate, 4 50 cals and a 20mm, centralised firepower, great energyfighter. Use what she has to offer and win.

i got it yesterday ..... good spawn camper airplane, haha ... its funny how these nimble fighters try to out turn you at 7 km of height ...also had 2 team members mocking me in the beginning ... beeing pissed about this plane and me climbing right from the get go
nice vids! do you think that the p 38s should have their own line? bc the p 39s and later models just dont feel like they fit in but prob bc amaricans dont have a lot of cannons so theyr jut put in one line

Does this aircraft match the P-39N-0 as historically the P38-E could carry bombs and rockets but it csnt in the game and the P39 beats it in every catagory except maybe armour. Is the P38 better than the P39 in any way
9:56 i think the plane can break even with the repair cost too since i get around 5k-4k for a battel with 2 kills and a few ground units
also i have no boosters or any multiplyers
but also i'd recomned getting the a 36 too it has a lower repair cost and comes with a similar ish burst mass with gunpods
A-36 is interesting as well, i would prefer the P-38 though, but will revisit the A-36 soonish.
Can you do all air to air missiles ranking, which of them are identical (aim 9j and P for example, or shafrir and aim9b) which are more consistent or easily distracted so it is easier for new pilots like me, because there are alot of variants of missiles, but some of them have identical stats and stuff, thank you

READ THIS COMMENT IT HAS A GOOD TIP!!!!
If you are in a plane that does not have a very powerful gun, going into the merge head on with another plane (like the p38 for example) with better guns than you is not a good idea to stay head on in the merge to hopefully shoot the other plane out before you even start the merge. instead, use maneuvers to make sure that the other plane does not hit you in the merge. Most of the time, when doing maneuvers, the plane will not hit you and you will be able to get in the merge. Usually, the way war thunder works is that planes either trade gun power for turn time or turn time for gun power. This means that when entering the merge, your turn time will be greater than the opponents plane and you can get the kill. If you are going into a merge with a plane that has the same gun power as you, the choice is yours to either maneuver or go head on. If you are in a plane that trades turn time for gun power, (like the p38) it is best to stay directly head on with other planes as the P 38 Canon can destroy planes quickly. Although, like I said earlier, this means your turn time is not as good as the opponents, this means that you have to make sure you destroy the opponents plane before having the merge. This is usually pretty easy to do unless the player knows how to maneuver, but not many people know how to so yeah. considering the immense fire power of the P 38, it's pretty likely you will get the kill before the merge begins.
