Friendly Market Vendor in Sumatra, Indonesia 🇮🇩

- I visited a local market in Samosir, the island in the middle of Lake Toba. I was taking a road trip around the island on my rented scooter and stopped at a local market. The vendors there were very friendly, including the lady selling fruit.

@@OtgCruz such negativity thinking....
There is a word called Haggle. In this case, you can haggle to buy 6 for 5000 or ask for a small one extra for the same price. Or ask most Asian women their trick of haggling with peddlers and street vendors.
I would think the woman is not scamming but her way to try increase the sales and perhaps she was also expecting to haggle. Beside small change below 2000 really are hard to get especially for street vendors in Indonesia.
If you are the kind that think everything in the world and all peddlers and vendors are scammer, then you better off buying at big box stores since they usually have the option to use your cards or digital wallet. They can cut you to even a single rupiah where with peddlers they usually rounded up or down. No peddlers going to ask you to pay them those value below 500, they would just rounded up if its close to 500 or eliminate the small change entirely if they feel you are a nice customer. Haggle with laughs and respect, you get more and both parties happy.
Telling other is a scammer for such a small amount is very offending and disrespectful. Before telling others a scammer think first the value you thought they scammed. Is there any scammer you know that will do all that hassle for less than 10cents (USD)? Even if IDR exchange rate can be the same as AUD to USD, i doubt it even worth it to scam people of their cents than dollars.
Mate you really think she doesn't have change? Lol gullible
