The movie, of course, has a lot of symbolism. If you asked my interpretation, I'd say it wants to touch the subject of house vs home. In the first story we see the father giving up their home and precious possessions to move into a free house, but it wasn't a home for them. On the second one, we have the rat obsessing over seeking financial retribution from the house in a time of crisis instead of making it a home for himself, but he wasn't happy. He literally spent his life savings on that house, but never took the opportunity to make it a home, until the ending came, of course. The third one is finally giving in to the idea that a home is where your family is, and when Rosa realizes this, she can join the others and be together. Of course, there are other interpretations one could make: accepting one true self instead of trying to be something you are not, rejecting materialism etc. Either way, I just think this is a great movie to deeply analyse. Personally, I absolutely adored this movie
One of my favorite things about this film is actually the so many different reactions and theories about it which is really what speaks the most about powerful pieces of art. I think the real interesting thing about this movie is, whichever shorts affect you the most, or you find the least effective, it says a lot about your personality... your tastes, your own relatable struggles, and your history with the genre of animation and visual symbolism in film/ literature. There are no right or wrong answers and so many different wild theories about all three of these stories and how they are unified, either in themes or in cannon.

I watched this movie the day it was released on Netflix.. I saw the trailer earlier and I was so excited to watch this flim and I was not disappointed at all.. I Loved it.. stop motion animation was perfect.. pretty spooky and each story was different.. cool reaction though 👌
Just finished it. Whacked out film. I really loved it. Creative, visually its super cool, and I suspect the stories are full of layers.
There's one thing that keeps bothering me about the 2nd story : at 13:39 in this video, you can see the main character dropped the bug powder on the floor and it flew everywhere , but why was he the only one who got affected and had to go to the hospital?
he had been exposed to the insecticide for multiple days where he used it without any kind of protection. Insecticide doesn't affect you really bad immediately, but it does fuck you up if you are exposed to it various times during a period of time.
Also, the other rats are like double of size than him.
Not sure if this is true or not, but I also saw theories that the two rats are just his hallucination. It was shown after in the movie that they act like insects, not to mention their buils resemble the insects too.

I Watched This Movie On Netflix And I Think Its Really Interesting To Watch And I Love Stop Motion Movies, But I Did Find It A Bit Weird.

The people that moved in were the bugs but they grew up and that’s why at the end they were crawling all over the place
I watched a review about it, and it said that the bugs invading the house were possibly meant to symbolise the mouse’s mental health fading away (the house represented his mind). The mouse clearly had no friends or relationships with anyone which is why he always talked to his dentist (he had no one else to turn to). He was able to control the bugs inside the house at first but as the story kept going it just kept getting worse, and once the bugs destroyed everything inside of the house, he had ultimately gone crazy and reverted back to his “original form”. I’m sorry if I hadn’t explained it properly but I tried my best!

Definitely, I watched it again with a family member and it was really cool to see all of the obvious signs
I really liked this movie. I didn't love it because I didn't like the third story as much as the two first, which I think are brilliant, but it's really good and the main song Is amazing. :D
