For someone also playing single player, these kind of advice are gold! I also love your down to earth kind of approach where you admit it just takes a hell lot of farming and that there is nothing free in the Diablo world :-). As for the HR farming I personally prefer LK chest runs on p6 (I read somewhere that p6 > p8, not really sure though) and I have found Lo, Vex and a Sur rune in perhaps 300 runs. I find it very lucky as I have seen people struggling with only finding like a Pul in 600 runs. Anyhow, you've earned yourself a sub. :) Well played Sir, well played.
Player setting has a radius. Monsters near you will be affected by whatever setting you have active. Once affected they stay they stay with that setting.
/players works outside town too, but like you said, it doesn't affect already spawned monsters. You can try walking into Blood Moor, turning on P8 and walking 30 seconds away. Monsters will suddenly get harder.
IMO should of mentioned LK/superchest in general with high runes since the drop calcs don't have that information. 32bit system=56,553 different variations (ID's for those chest), without all the ID's being known a drop calc can't show this information so isn't included. with known LK patters players 7/8 these are the number of variations for ber-pul x/65,553.(Ber 4,Sur 11,Lo 2,Ohm 5,Vex 6,Gul 12,Ist 8,Mal 15,Um 11,Pul 18, TOTAL: 92.) TL:DR: countess el-pul, LK um-zod(ber being highest droppable)
Finding stuff in single player is not my problem. Storing it is. Cant understand in all those patches noone at blizz got to the amazing idea to include stash tabs for single player at least. Now my nearly 20yr old disks dont work, battlenet installs 1.14d, a downloaded 1.13 doesnt run, downpatching doesnt work, and the stash mods dont work on 1.14 :S

Listed are the best ones to farm: 1 pits in act 1 tamoe highland 2 chaos sanctuary 3 nihaltek 4 diablo 5 world stone keep 6 Baal 7 gambling at a high level. Shenk pindel and travs are good to just kill quick. Basically Andy and meph just take too long for 1 drop. All of the above listed areas have same or better drop chance. Rune finding: 1 countess 2 travs( a council member drops 1 often) 3 lower and upper kurast in act 3
Suggestion: Record audio separately and then add it afterward. You might want to write your copy down and then just read it. When you do stuff off the cuff, it's very hard to keep it interesting.
does single player have higher drop chance? cause I have played d2 lod on bnet for years (had bot too and everything) And i think I have found like 2-3 highrunes counting the bots drops. So your gear is really impressive for single player imo
You know I think they increased the rune drop rate for 1.13. I used to play bnet a lot and i never found any high runes either, so i was pretty shocked at all the HRs i was able to find on single player but I think they did increase the hr drop rate significantly.
I'm thinking it's not just the drop chance. It's a lot faster and safer to run in single player with saved maps than flying blind trying to find stuff on bnet. Also, no lag, no realm down if you decide to not die to dolls and/or souls and exceed the 20 runs/hour.
yeah word good point. I'm definitely way more successful at finding rare uniques than I was on bnet too, even though those rates havent changed (so far as i know)
if an idiot lacks knowledge I'd say you take the cake my friend. within 6 weeks of HC SP I've found 455/502 set+unique items, too many hrs to count-infinity/fort on merc, multiple hotos, multiple cta's with hrs still in my stash. "git gud" is the simplest thing I can think of to say. if u wanna git gud just lmk, you can learn quickly how vast that lack of knowledge really is.
dropped a ber rune from a chest in durance lv3 that is next to mephisto. Not the chest behind the meph, but the one that is like little above the armor stand. What were the chances :o
Use d2se to launch in direct 3d, ddraw or glide or any other renderer.. graphic renderer changes the colour scheme kind of and the quality you see here.

Players 8 is by far better than players 1 lol. My lvl 97 light soso hardcore single player thrashes anything so quick. i make baalruns 4mins maxx on players 8 U use players 1 because u have a slow killing character. ( hammerdin ) not very versatile , slow casting rate , only direct damage available , very slow boss killing. But yeah players 8 all the way in any case
huh yeah you're probably right. Do you have infinity on merc? I always thought light sorc would be better with good gear, but since i play vanilla single player w/o plugy or runeword mod, I cant make ladder-only runewords (and that's kinda how i like it since i think they are overpowered). How do you deal with light immunes?
Yes i have infinity , but i also dont use plugy. its just a mpq file replacement. I farmed players 8 with a 6 super chests lower kurast map for around 2 weeks solid. With this managed to get COH , Infinity , CTA , eth fortitude , hoto. And use full life/res charms. ( no torch/anni as i dont use programs) only item i dont have yet is griffon the rest i have * maras,bks,arach,shako..) so now i only run baal p8 for highest chance griffon drop :) Btw i also ran level 2 sewers superchests(act3)

With very limited stash....cubing the runes is a very crazy job. Especially you dont want to cheat with using LAN.

lol pretty low. I actually found a ber from a corpse once, in the same game that I found sur rune. That was a good 10 minutes or so.

No, but you can use plugy or adding a certain text file into your diablo 2 folder to make runewords work in singleplayer.
