I'm using my husbands youtube page but I'm from South Carolina and don't know about everyone else but to me deer meat is way better than cow meat or any other hands down. We grew up not having a lot of money so it was pretty much all we ate was deer meat just hope todays generation appreciates it as much as we did growing up. Great recipe.
this is the ONLY WAY we ate deer meat when I was growing up. my extended family is from Uvalde TX and we just went back last summer and they made it for us again! it is a special treat for my family. on Dec 6th, at 43 yrs old, I got my first deer and I can't wait to make this for my family! they are so excited! thanks for making this video!
Hi Robert. I made the deer ham recipe exactly and it was excellent. I did pound them a bit. I made smashed baby potatoes and home grown green beans. My husband loved it too, but he never liked venison when we were young. We came to Tennessee 3 years ago, so maybe the deer here are not as wild. We didn't have deer walk into our properties like here. I've been watching Bluegabe and DMFD videos since we've been here We're coming to FL this year to do some fishing, snorkeling and whatever. I would love to meet your families,(someday). Your whole family is awesome. Be good, be safe, and no cutting hands or hospital visit, or gator bites again or just for awhile Love you all. Barbara
I'm from queens, NYC n I've gotta be honest I never thought i'd enjoy watching your type of content before. I've never hunted a day in my life n have only been to the south twice for family reunions. I guess good stuff is just good stuff.
Ive been going back to your earlier videos, im so glad you are the same person here thst you are now even with all the success. Ive seen many people who change with the money they get after finding success on TH-cam. Much respect and love for Y'all!
this looks amazing, a splash of white wine just before you put that milk in would have been amazing, just a small splash and cook the alcohol off for the mrs. Merry Christmas and have a happy new year, God bless.
Hi you good people. We the De Vos family from South Africa love your tasty Tuesdays......we have a Magnificent Monday Special which consists of beer and steak. The beer and steak Monday is a tradition after a long blue Monday. After a great weekend we need to keep the mood high with an ice cold beer and a good boere steak. Thanks for all the clips and recipes, keep it up!
That's how my family does it in North Dakota. It is hard to be friends with people who grind up there back straps and tenderloins. They may as well eat chicken.
We are in NZ and stumble across your videos. Interesting, if you ever planning a trip this way let us know would love to host you guys. Great deer too.
Been watching your videos for a while now and LOVE them. God has put together a great loving couple. Every time I see you cook with Everglades my mouth waters and since it's that time of year, I ordered a jar of it along with Christmas presents and saved on the freight. Just arrived today so in the next few days I'll FINALLY know what all of the fuss is about. So far it smells amazing! Thanks for all you do.
That was so nice to see that you are trying to reach out to people just like you... It shows just what great people you two are! Keep up the great videos, and I'll Keep up the watchin!! :)
I'm in Wisconsin. Been eating pan fried venison all my life, in one form or another, but none quite like this. I will be trying this one sometime real soon!
The first time I ever had venison was when I was dating my husband and his mother invited me over for dinner. She also pan fries her deer. It was so tender I could cut it with my fork. I have yet to reproduce that meal at home. We are In South West Colorado, by Four Corners. Have so much fun and so many great memory's of hunting and fishing in this area. This next year we are taking our 7 year old son out hunting for the first time. I cant wait!
haha that brings me back. i am from NY though and we used to cut the backstrap then butterfly the cut pieces and put the flour on that and pan fry them. i miss that stuff.
Looks awesome. Sesame ginger venison stir fry is great too. I like to experiment so I cut my deer up into steaks, stir fry, cubes, and ground meat. I also leave the tenderloins whole to cook as I see new recipes.
going to try this. I don't have deer meat...yet but tis the season, I will use a great cut of meat. Found everglades in a supermarket within 1 mile of us, awesome. Love your web page, keep the videos com'in. Merry Christmas.
You guys have the best channel couldn't be anyone close, its great seeing your family come together, very happy for you. God Bless you three Merry Christmas!
For the asparagus, I usually fry them and just before they're ready I'll pour water in the pan and allow it to steam. This way the asparagus stays crunchy and not sloppily soft.
Rob, This is my almost exactly like my recipe for beef stroganoff. I cut the beef in smaller pieces than yours, and there is a secret ingredient... a tiablespoon or less of ketchup in the gravy wil make it even better. Try a tiny bit in your leftovers tomorrow and see for yourself what a big difference it makes... Love you guys, Merry Christmas and Happy New Years to you and all the DMFD Fans !

You know what that look like a pretty good recipe and I pretty much make it the same way and I live in Michigan but I brown the venison in a pan then I put it in another pan with the gravy and the onions in the mushrooms I actually use a can of mushroom soup with a little bit of water then I put tin foil over a over the pan and then I put it in the oven on 325 degrees for about an hour you pull it out and it is delicious and it is really tender and will melt in your mouth try it that way and maybe the venison might be a little more tender
A cast iron skillet "handle holder" is definitely something you'll want! I learned the hard way from touching it while it was hot out of habit.Looks like an awesome meal..Merry Christmas and God Bless!
Your a great cook. I grew up in Texas eating deer meat steaks and many other cuts, all pan fried, since I was old enough to chew it. We only ate beef when we ran out of deer meat. I thought beef tasted a bit strange when I first ate it.
Rob & Sarah, I have to admit I have never eaten deer or alligator meat. I watch your videos, they look very tasty. I had a friend go to Disney World and had them pick me up some Everglades original seasoning. I use it on a lot of things I cook. I am hooked! Going to have to order more soon. It makes me happy to see the success you two are having. Sarah, you look AWESOME! If ever you are in the Sacramento, CA area, you have a place to rest your heads. Idk about the south but in Maine we fry tons deer in pens...its the best..onion red yellow pepper salt and pepper some seasoning last and your good to go

That dinner looks soo good. You'll do great video's and we love watching them. Most of all I like how you say Grace and keep the Lord #1 I your life. Good bless youll
I always butcher my own venison, and opening morning after I've tagged my deer and get it back too the house, I then skin the animal by cutting the hide from the top of the neck to the tail on the under belly side and around all four hoofs and up the inside of each leg to the cut down the belly. The next step I roll down the hide from around the head to the bottom of its neck then I take a soft ball and roll the ball up in this rolled down hide and tie a strong rope around the ball and tie the other end to the bumper of my truck and slowly back up ( deer is hanging up in a tree ) and the hide will peel off the body like a banana peel, nice and clean. Anyway where I was going with this is I cut out the backstraps and fry them up in a cast iron skillet along with eggs, hashbrown potatoes and toast, its so tender and just an awesome breakfast. The rest of the venison I cut up like you would a beef into all the same cuts and it all gets double wraped and place into the freezer. And that's the Minnesota way!! Enjoyed the video....
awsome recipe guys thank you very much, i been looking for a proper reciepe to cook venison meat since i never ate or cooked it before, forsure i will be trying this one out.
Holy cow that looks great ! You read my mind , I was thinking about that gravy over some white rice ! I fried my deer meat exactly like that, I love doing it for breakfast with a batch of homemade biscuits!
Hey Rob! great video... Man I was just telling my wife the other day how I would love to do something like you and Sara. Thought it was funny you were looking to find another couple! I wish I was more of a computer guy maybe I would give it a try! But my wife is the non outdoors type that knows computers and books! And I am the one that kills the deer and cooks the dinner but don't know squat about computers! No luck this season yet! I live in jersey and I have 2 more weeks to get one down with my black powder! Then a month of winter bow... I just wanted to tell you guys I love what you guys do! I don't know how I stumbled on to my first dmfd video but i'm so glad I did!!! keep up the good work! I hope you Sara and soon to be baby Aria have a great Christmas and a safe new year! You have a big fan up here in the north east I tell everyone about you guys! best of luck to you guys for 2016!
Rob, Our family watches your show and loves everyone. I currently live in Oklahoma, but was born and raised in Palatka, Florida. Every deer I've killed up here tastes so gamey I can't stand it. FYI they've all been bucks. I've hung it for days, I've soaked in for a week and this year I soaked it in beer for 2 full days. I can't seem to get it right. could it be what they are eating (where I hunt)? I even sought out a friend that says his meat isnt gamey, tasted it and it was also gamey. I'm a preacher and am praying to come back to Florida one day. I've ordered all the Everglades seasonings and will be trying them. Thank you for worshipping the Creator over the creation.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO THE SOON TO BE 3 OF YOU......LOVE YOUR VIDEOS YOUR LIFE STYLE AND LOVE YOU GUYS.....SO HAVE A BEAUTIFUL CHRISTMAS AND A WONDERFUL NEW YEAR.

I love how you said " this is just something we do in the south" so many people say FL is not a southern state... Yes it is!!!
Technically it's a southeastern state and has very many difference between traditional southern culture
+picklestirfry sorry disagree.
wait florida isnt a southeasten state? well today i learned florida is somewhere else contrary to all maps
+picklestirfry so is Al , Ga MS, SC, what's your point? A southeastern state? It's the south dude...let it go....
+picklestirfry if you understood true floridians, not transplants, you'd understand how southern we are. I say that in all due respect.
You're right on the money in seasoning the oil, Robert. I've always felt it makes a difference. And, as always, great video and recipe!

I always butcher my own venison, and opening morning after I've tagged my deer and get it back too the house, I then skin the animal by cutting the hide from the top of the neck to the tail on the under belly side and around all four hoofs and up the inside of each leg to the cut down the belly. another great recipe guys.
I was originally from Iowa live in Louisiana now, but just wanted to say we all fried deer steak and backstrap. The best part of the deer!
I think its the best way to cook it like that to!cant beat it!
Just made this exact meal tonight. So tasty! Thanks rob!
Rob,
Our family watches your show and loves everyone.
