    I've watched most of the Captor X videos to learn the cable connections, and NONE of them show how to connect! They all start their videos with cables already connected... very frunstrating! PLUS this is the only video that shows the routing and recording with Wall of Sound within the DAW!! BEST Captor video youtube! Thank you!!

    Thanks for dumbing this down for dummies like me. I was stumped on how to power this thing and was scared I was going to fry it on accident! Today I learned power can go through an XLR cable.

      Thank you for this great video. This will be very helpfu! I just bought a Two Notes Torpedo because I could never get a real tube amp tone with my Helix Native plugin, but I have a question; I would like to run the amp into my Logic Pro DAW and through Helix so that I can use the great many Helix effects, but not its amps. Can you tell me how you are doing this? Do you just create a patch with no amp of cabs? Not sure how to approach this.

    Potentially one of the best tutorials on TH-cam, but VERY out of sync. I was wondering for a bit what I was missing until I realized what was happening.

    Do you ever use the ATT out to a cab while recording?

  • @shreeshsk
    @shreeshsk 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thanks for the tutorial. I will be getting my captor today. Was just wondering how you monitor the sound? Also do you have any latency when you do so as you would be using software monitoring with the WoS plugin. Thanks again.

    • @rasmuslaurberghansen8484
      @rasmuslaurberghansen8484  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I just use my computer monitors or headphones from my audiointerface. Maybe throw on a bit of reverb if you use it to practice. I also use the -20 db output to a cabinet when I am just practicing, but not recording. Just running some IR loader, like Two Notes Wall of sound or any other one, does not give me any latency issues. If I have a ton of other plugins running, they may introduce latency. I found that especially multiband compressors introduce latency, so track without and apply afterwards if you need that in your mix. Thanks for watching

      @@rasmuslaurberghansen8484 Thanks for the reply. I have been a Kemper user for a while. Just got my first tube amp really. Will be getting the captor today. Wanted to use the wall of sound plugin with logic. Just for practice and playback. Not really planning on tracking at the moment. Very helpful video.

    thanks for this demo0 bro,, can i plugin 2 4x12 cabs same time through or silent?

    • @rasmuslaurberghansen8484
      @rasmuslaurberghansen8484  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is only one output on the captor, so you would have to connect the cabinets in serial, so one cable from captor to cab 1, then cable from cab 1 to cab 2, but not all cabinets are wired to alle for this.

    HI-Z n or MIC or LINE IN in audio devices ??

    • @rasmuslaurberghansen8484
      @rasmuslaurberghansen8484  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you use XLR to XLR cable from the Captor to the audio interface it should be fine. Then it will be to mic level. If you go from the line out (so jack to jack cable) then it will be line level which is a little hotter (higher volume). One is not better than the other, it is just more options for you to connect with.

    • @plummetplum
      @plummetplum ปีที่แล้ว

      No just captures amp sound, although technically you could record your amp clean then use that as DI sound.

    This video is confusing because it appears that you have mismatched the synchronicity between the video capture and the narration. Am I the one at fault here and the world is just a confusing place for a chap like me or did you actually miss this mistake? Would love closure on this one and perhaps a redo of this tutorial if I'm right. Like your work though... wouldn't be putting this much effort into this comment otherwise.

    • @rasmuslaurberghansen8484
      @rasmuslaurberghansen8484  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Lars, where exactly do you have the mismatched synchronicity between video and narration? I just rewatched and it seems fine to me? But please point it out to me, and I might redo this tutorial. It is my first recording tutorial, so there is a chance I messed up ;)

    • @Larshhh
      @Larshhh 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi Rasmus,
      Thanks for the reply. To be clear, the beginning of the video where you demonstrate the hardware setup is flawless. I'm purely talking about the software demonstration part and I'll explain.
      The software demo seems to start off fine and it looks to be in sync but the first clue that it's not is at 4:38 when you first play back the audio - you'll notice that the track timeline cursor remains stationary. Evidence mounts up when you get to 4:50 and the timeline cursor finally gets going (independent of any audio output). It appears that your audio is about 12 seconds ahead of your video. The de-sync remains throughout the video until you speak direct to cam at the end.
      I can highlight more giveaways if you want but I'll leave it here as I think this might be enough to convince you to take a closer look.

      @@Larshhh Ah yes, I totally see what you mean, yeah that is pretty horrible, I guess you become blind to it when you have done the video yourself- I will try and do a new video where I don't mess up :D thanks for the tip

    • @Larshhh
      @Larshhh 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ahh you see it, cool, I'm not out of touch. I was gonna post more markers for you if you didn't believe but suffice to say the gap gets wider as the video goes on. My only guess as to the cause would be a sample rate mismatch as something similar happened to me in Reaper once.
      Anyway I'm looking at getting a Captor along with a micro Orange or Joyo and clearly explained vids like yours will really help. Cheers.

      @@Larshhh Yeah it was also the first time I did a screen capture while also getting the sound and that by itself is a whole mess - to start with I got a lot of clicks and pops, but ended with it sounding good, but apparently the video rendered out of time.

  • @veiga7658

    Basic, but still, why did you use the XLR output instead of the Jack one?...

    • @rasmuslaurberghansen8484
      @rasmuslaurberghansen8484  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Because I have a lot of XLR cables lying around. It does not make a difference if you use a jack cable instead. They are just there as options.

      @@rasmuslaurberghansen8484 Isn't it because you used the xlr to power the captor? I have another question: should we always plug the captor in the instrument entry of the audio box? Or the line entry is also an option?
