  • Walk with us through Playacar. Like & Sub to walk more often.
The Playacar area is known for its upmarket residential villas, all-inclusive resorts, and luxury golf club. The clear waters and white sand of its namesake beach draw a mix of locals and visitors for kitesurfing, snorkeling, swimming, and sunbathing. Iguanas scamper over the Xaman-Ha ruins, a cluster of crumbling stone buildings used by the Maya until the 16th century.

I had no idea this video existed. I run Xaman Ha every morning when I travel to Playacar. Thank you for sharing this! It made my gloomy December night to see my home away from home.

I'm really enjoying these walks in PDC. I'm in Cancun in 2 weeks for several months and I will make an effort to do day trips in PDC. Love Playacar and love the vibe in PDC. I'm a big walker and I feel like I'm the one walking when I watch your videos! Thank you!

I've en there and it's cool, hot, peaceful, everyone is so gentle, and yhe hotels are so amazing! I recommend staying at a hotel at playacar, and it's safer because is a big closed residence.

Lots of memories there. We used to make that trek often. Starting about the Iberostar and Riu complex and walking north into Town.
Past the ruins and then thru the ‘Paseo Mall’? which channeled you down onto 5th Ave. In those days PDC was the best. Tons of mom and pop
restaurants and the music was to die for. First place maybe the music would be traditional Mexican, the next, maybe Peruvian, the next, maybe
Chilean and on and on. And if you were desperate there was loud rock and roll. Now it’s all multi-storey buildings selling tee-shirts to jewellery.
Know that when you visit, but DO NOT let that keep you away. Put on your thick skin and smile and visit this amazing place.

Wow, so cool that you have ancient ruins nonchalantly in your neighborhood. 🤩
It's so normal that it's not a big deal. Nothing like that exists in the US.

    • @LetsTakeAWalk

It is pretty cool to have them here. Hopefully they stay around and are protected for many years to come. Thanks for watching all the way from the US😊

Hey there!! Great walk it is amazing those ruins are so accessible!! Might have to check those out!! Looks like a lovely morning!! Is there a certain time of year for kite surfing? I sat for ours on the beach in Cayo Santa Maria and watched them would love to see them from Playacar area?...thanks again!!...Viv

Yeah, there are more ruins inside of Playacar than you've seen. Time to go kite surfing is any day theres a good amount of wind. Which we think is most days out here. We'll try to get some clips of them next time for sure. Thanks for watching you two!
