Your last video was a gift for Christmas, now it's a gift for the New Year ! Thank you so much Kirb for illuminating most of my sundays by posting your videos. I hope 2024 will be full of good surprises for you, and that you will still post great content like you always did 😅
You’d have to adjust the mana base to include much more red. Plus looting itself doesn’t count as a creature for the win con, and even though acorn harvest isn’t a creature it makes creature tokens in a pinch to flashback dread return It’s important the deck plays mostly creature cards so that the giant hits for as much damage as possible Though thinking about it, maybe you could replace 1 gnaw to the bone with 1 faithless looting. But I wouldn’t replace any of the creatures or other cards with faithless looting
@@bigfootfighter4132 Maybe -1 gnaw to the bone, -1 acorn harvest, +2 faithless looting, -2 haunted mire, +1 geothermal bog, +1 wooded ridgeline. That also makes milling the red lands less of a problem.
I’m trying to run less giants and some writhing Necromass. Necromass makes it so that gy hate hurts less, but the deathtouch on it is completely garbage lol life link instead would be great. Thanks for the video, always like to watch them! Happy new year!
Yeah, I've never been a fan of creatures that big getting Deathtouch. It's almost never necessary. I mean I guess if you combo it with Menace or First Strike it's cool and has some applications. But most 5/5s don't need Deathtouch to finish off their blocker lol.
What do you think of "Circle of the Land Druid" instead of "Mire Triton"? It mills 4 instead of 2, and can grab a land from the graveyard to hand. How important is the death touch compared to the better milling?
Unsure. The 2 life from Triton isn't nothing either. The deathtouch is mainly only relevant against terror.. The fact you only get a land once it dies is a little rough, but the larger mill could be better.
Thanks! I don't know what you would cut for it. All the other cards are either required for the combo side of the deck or fill more cards into the GY than Street Wraith would.
Crawl from the Cellar is a bit better than Morgue Theft and it also synergises with Lotleth Giant and Mire Triton. I don't know if it's good enough for this deck though.
I'm not sure whether this would have worked in terms of ordering, but round 1 game 1 when the opponent was at 6 life, if you'd discarded the Dread Return in your hand to the Scrapwork Mutt, then sacrificed the Lotleth Giant and the 2 squirrel tokens as part of the flashback casting cost, could you have targeted the Lotleth Giant you'd just sacrificed to return it to the board for lethal?
No, you have to have a target in your graveyard before you pay costs. There was a couple of times this came up during this league, so it would have been so much easier for me to find winning lines if it did work the way you hoped. Deck definitely makes you think.
I tried another league with Circle of the Land Druid and it felt even worse. Still went 4-1. Unsure what to put in this slot. Maybe exhume is the play? I don't know, don't really want to lower the creature count.
Pauper manabases make 3 colour decks hard to make work. I assume affinity isn't what you are looking for? It is pretty much a control deck that just has free 4/4's you can bring back. Otherwise you would be better off with UR or UB Terror.
The deck is very streamlined in this combo form currently. The deck is entirely creatures, lands and flashback spells so when you self mill you are guaranteed value. The only exception is when you hit all lands, which the deck need to cast its spells so we can't do much about that. The most expendable cards IMO are Gnaw To the Bone and Mire Triton, so if you want to try out exhume I would probably cut 1 Gnaw 2 Triton and see how that goes. It's just going to be sad when they get milled.
We have Rust in paper which is better because it only costs one. Just need it to get printed on mtgo. I don't think we need to worry about Relic that much that we need to SB for it though.
Also, more non-blue, non-artifact decks make a healthier format!!😊

Thanks! Always appreciate your comments, since they are always so nice. Should hopefully keep up the weekly output next year 👍
Been dreaming of a deck like this being viable for ever. Awesome to see it beat the meta decks! Even if it's not top tier
I'm just happy that Stinkweed Imp is good in a deck again. Downshifts can make all sorts of decks viable which is cool.
What a fun deck. Thanks for covering it and happy New year!
I'm so glad this deck is getting the coverage it deserves!
Thanks for the Sunday vids really great thing to watch while I am waking up in the morning. Congrats on the first 5-0 on video.
Thanks for giving this deck a try! Love any list that gets to run 12 of the same card and satyr wayfinder is a good model imo
Awesome stuff, always enjoy watching your vids
cool video bodes well for the new year !
Nice play! I really like this deck.
This deck is so coool
Very nice deck! I'm just a bit surprised the list doesn't have faithless looting in it. Might be worth considering.

please brng more, this deck is so swsome

@@Kirblinxy Good points! Though since Dread Return sacrifices maybe it's not so bad.
first off: thank you for building this. second: do we really want no street wraith?
Thanks! I don't know what you would cut for it. All the other cards are either required for the combo side of the deck or fill more cards into the GY than Street Wraith would.

This deck seems very legit, but the Mire Triton does not seem to help imo

Interesting deck
If you could build a grixis deck what would be a good strategy?

How about running exhume maindeck?

I don’t care if it is optimal or not I can’t see a shell like this and not need tortex in the 75
I tried to put tortex in it and the more I needed to change the deck for it to work, the more of a classics tortex the deck was becoming xd
