I agree with you. He has not treated Marilyn well at all. It is often overlooked that Marilyn found fame some time before he did. I don't believe anything George says about Marilyn anymore. I subscribe to Marilyn's channel and George really has let him down badly. He has his own life, and doesn't need George. In fact, there have been plenty of times where George has taken advantage of Marilyn, not the other way around...

80’s music was my generation and my Mother didn’t like most of the music but, the minute she heard & saw Boy George she loved him and said “I feel he has a beautiful soul”.

I had the biggest crush on Boy George when I was 13. It was because he was real and didn't just follow trends. He was the trend. His voice....is beautiful and no one else has a voice like him. I remember seeing him in concert and I was dressed exactly like him lol. He saw me and gave me a salute. Made up for the stiffs making fun of me from the back row lol.

Boy George and Cindy Lauper are my ideal people. They are different and in my teenage rebellion I chose them out of everyone else. I will always be thankful to them both for letting me know that it doesn't matter what others think about you. Just be what you want to be.

Was living in Darmstadt Germany, where they had lots of music showa. That is where I saw/heard him for the 1st time. I called my parents into the living room so excited and mesmerized by his voice and his way of dressing...dad said is that a girl or a boy? A boy of course, just different. Every timey they woukd come on Tv my dad would scream sweety your boy is on! Followed Culture Club to the end, bought every record. Finally, I was able to see them in concert at Porte de Lavillette with my mom and some friends. When he came out to sing, my mom jumped up ans screamed love you boy george....he cracked up laughing and said love you too....my friends laughing oh gosh, never thought Renee would do that at her age. I so wanted to go under my seat. A wonderful concert. I disagree with him about no one liked the 80's songs. Loved almost all of them...danced the nights away. Have a very large collection of records and cd's....those are my fond memories of the 80's with Boy George.

Sadly, he grew up observing his dad physically and mentally abusing his mum... George and his siblings were also physically abused by their dad. He had forgiven his dad, etc.
many times when a child grows up in an abusive home, they either become an abuser themselves or they mate up with an abuser. Not always but often.

Every few years I do a Boy George binge on TH-cam like today. I’m so grateful for his presence in contemporary culture since the 80s. What he did made me feel blessed to be alive and being attracted to weird, off the beaten track music and cultural currents. When he says, “Everybody knew what I was before I did. Somebody called me poofdah when I was 6.” Omg, I can relate to that!!! But I love his humor and how he always sees the folly in life no matter what adversity he’s faced with. I remember once dancing with him on some dance floor in NYC in the 90s. It was a brush with greatness for sure… 😊😊

In the mid 80’s when I was in 4th grade, my 17 year old cousin who was a huge Boy George fan was killed in a car accident. I inherited all her Culture Club cassette tapes and I’ve been listening ever since. His music made me feel close to her and really touched my soul. Forever a fan.
