This was so insightful. I almost cried at the end. I'm so grateful that he was able to share is gift of insight and observation with us while he was still alive🥺🙏🏾

@Elle... Am glad that you got to appreciate the very end. I've been moved many times when I listen to Marshall talk about the story of his grandmother and that unexpected guest. And I love the line, "Never walk when you can dance."
I'm grateful that this brings benefit for you. Be well. Cheers!

Let go of what has passed.
Let go of what may come.
Let go of what is happening now.
Don’t try to figure anything out.
Don’t try to make anything happen.
    Relax, right now, and rest.

Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing there is a field. I'll meet you there. When the soul lies down in that grass the world is too full to talk about.” Rumi

4:39 change not out of guilt
7:12 think that because I made a mistake or did something I wish I hadn’t, there’s something wrong with me.
8:32 what need of yours was not met by the behavior?
    11:11 being conscious
30:20 “no compliments. They are violent, dehumanizing”

@Louise Wildee - Thank you, Louise, for your acknowledgement. As is true for so many of us who have learned from him, Marshall made a timeless and lasting contribution.
This video is truly a labor of love. And it's a tribute as much to Marshall's grandmother (referenced by the story and the song in the final segment), as it is to Marshall. I only wish that Marshall was still in this life, so I could share it directly with him. R.I.P.

We just started working on your method in our small community. We hold meetings practicing your techniques once a week. It's a great help for us to make our life better.
    Thanks a lot

Hi! I wonder where this quote is taken from - that Marshall defines NVC as “an integration of a spirituality, with concrete tools for manifesting this spirituality in our daily lives, in our relationships, and in our political activities.” I like it, and I would like to make references to it - and I would feel more confident doing it if I knew where this quote is taken from) Could you tell me?

    • @RichardTashma
      @RichardTashma  5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

@Daria Voronina - Hello. This quote is transcribed from the original "Speaking Peace" audio recording at 5m33s. (And the same sentence is in this video at 4m20s.) I hope that is helpful to you.

Our mind is the software that is stored on the hardware (or “wet-ware”) of our brains. Our mind is the information stored on our brain, and the elctrical signals that are fires in our brains, in the same Way that computersoftware is just electrical signals firing on the computers, neurolnetwork (i cant remember/ dont know what its called for computers).
