I got rid of all social media accounts and stopped watching the news. Since starting meditation Ive stopped incessantly thinking all the time and have more and more moments of just being. I look at the world so differently now and am completely in love with nature but still have a long way to go. Often when i passed my lovely mother's bedroom..she would be sitting up in her bed, with her eyes closed..when asked what she was doing..she would reply.."i am listening to the silence".She knew. 🙏 I miss her,she was one of a kind.💖💖💖

That’s beautiful. She did know instinctively. You must have inherited her gift for seeking presence. I do look at it as a gift since not everyone is as lucky as us to have found Eckhart then to follow his teachings;or to always have innately known there was something deeper to life than what we were experiencing and a way to connect with God, or the Source….I do not mean that in an egoic sense whatsoever. God bless you and your mother. I’m sorry for your loss. It sounds as though she was awakened enough not to have to be reincarnated but to have chosen the portal to be at “one” with the universe and God (if that’s what she believed in.) Like “The Power of Now” discusses. So, now you may already be enlightened or are practicing to be (I know it’s the wrong way of wording things but it’s the only way I know how to say it) so you’ll be at one with her and everything else and feel pure love from it all like we feel from Eckhart, instead of continuing to have a heavy pain body of grief if you do. Sounds like your mother was a truly spiritual being and I’m sure you are , and that makes all the difference in the world. ❤🙏 Best wishes on your journey.

Realizing that I am not my thoughts - that I don't need to listen to them, that I can simply observe them - is one of the greatest gifts I have ever received. My mind used to keep me miserable, worried, angry - every single day. After practicing Eckhart's teachings I now only feel that way sometimes, and even then I have a way out. I now realize that I create my own suffering, and that I can stop doing this any time I choose. I can accept this very moment as it is and stop producing needless suffering. The past has loads of regret, resentment. The future holds so much fear, worry. But Now everything is OK. And Now IS everything.

This hectic world we live in today is evermore designed to frustrate our minds, and when our mind is continuously frustrated it makes us all unhappy and anxious, and the more we live in our minds the more we're distracted from our truest essence of being, which is knowing the kingdom of heaven within. its funny that an easy shift into not thinking eliminates most of the problems. We just don't have to think about anything that pops into our heads. Who knew?!

    • @stephenflood3463
      @stephenflood3463 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +14

@@ianIccyStewart Exactly. We don't have to get carried away all the time with the stream of thoughts passing through our human mind because the omnipresent flow of consciousness is constantly permeating throughout the entire universe regardless of what we think. So we ought to be able to have control over our mind rather than our mind have control over us. Awakened people are highly aware of this and they are able to harness the constant flow of consciousness to bring forth more light unto themselves and in to the world.✨

This is so true. One doesn't necessarily need to subscribe to spiritual beliefs to appreciate the power of presence, , test the practice and find for yourself.... Since my awakening, I've come to realize that moments of true happiness weren't solely about external factors like relationships or activities; they were about tapping into the spaciousness of presence within. Now, I can still cherish those experiences, but I no longer depend on them for my inner peace. It's a liberating realization, and I hope more people discover this innate source of contentment within themselves.

My brother lives near a beautiful beach in Scotland. He was there with his dog, who was playing in the sea, barking with joy, chasing Peebles on the surf. A woman sat nearby, a member of a local spiritual community. She had come to meditate, and for a moment she was lost in the joy of my brother's dog playing, then she remembered that she had come to sit in silence and commune with nature. She got very annoyed with my brother, and the dog, for being a dog. Had l been there l would have pointed out, that watching Angus play was the purest meditation she could have had, but her idea of some ideal got in way of it.

" Learn silence. And at least with your friends, with your lovers, with your family, with your fellow travellors here, sit in silence sometimes. Don´t go on gossiping, don´t go on talking. Stop talking, and not only on the outside - stop the inner talk. Be in an interval. Just sit, doing nothing, just being presences to each other. And soon you will start finding a new way to communicate. And that is the right way.
Start communicating through silence sometimes. Holding the hand of your friend, sit silently. Just looking at the moon, feel the moon, and both feel it silently. And see, a communion happens - not only communication, but a communion. Your hearts start beating in the same rhythm. You start feeling the same space. You start feeling the same joy. You start overlapping each other´s being. That is communion. You have said without saying anything, and there will be no misunderstanding."

Eckhart saved me 2019 when I was physically abused by xbf. I didn't know how I let myself get hypnotized by this evil lying Man. I listened for years until I could function daily. I have a Sibling issue for life. It's getting to me again- Eckhart is a lifesaver. Thank you for speaking on all matters of life's struggles. 🙏

This is quite deep. I remember when I got a huge promotion at work and I thought to myself that I had finally got what I wanted in life. In less than a year I was facing serious conflict with my boss, and all the excitement had turned into misery.

Because your mind is an instrument you use, not who you are. If you think you are your mind then misidentification occurs resulting in much confusion. Once you have the direct experience of yourself (meeting yourself on the inside), then you never need experience pain or suffering ever again. You are not the body and you are not the mind.

    Note for me:
Remember that if I think that getting spiritual will stop me,my life from getting problems that will challenge me.
But how it will really help me is that I will be aware of the challenge, and should acknowledge it with either taking action to deal with it or accept it for the being.
Thoughts, circumstances changes..what remains constant is the inner me. And it feels great to feel that I am alive

People used to go to Church to have this awareness. Now churches have coffee, toilets, and meetings where humans chat with each other, Silence is gone, what is sacred is now treated as a great place to meet (God is not allowed his silence and depth).

I totally agree by living in the present moment and being still and just observing your surroundings. Such a beautiful peaceful experience and everlasting.
Too many of my friends are always dizzy and busy 24/7 and need constant reassurance from others. They are not able to enjoy the moment and the stillness, then you will find inner space.

This mans book 'The Power of NOW' had a profound effect on me about mid way through it. Like i found a peace and appreciation of everything around me that was beyond the ability of description. It should be a mandatory requirement to read the book as a part of every cell/smart phone sale.

It's amazing my soul has always been there but I didn't even notice it until I was 22!! And I wrote a journal saying how can this be that this person always lived in the soul inside of me! Something like that but it's amazing that even tho we attach to superficial things and we think we know who we are but all along this incredible sacred essense is there the whole time 🥰

I try to catch when I am manipulating time . And if I focus on my breath and posture, I try to acknowledge that nothing is happening right here and now. If I can give myself a break a few times a day, by getting to stillness. Dang, Eckhart inspires
