Klaus wrote this song for his wife he said in an interview. One of my favorite songs from the Scorps. I never get tired of listening to it. I usually keep my songs on shuffle on my music library and every time this song comes on my never skip it. They are the kings of ballads.

Something about the beginning of this version always reminds me of Skynyrds Simple Man.
Scorpions were big fans of skynard in the super early days and they heard simple man, made a couple phone calls and changed up a couple chords and notes, so it’s there version of simple man basically, just like 38 special has there own version of simple man called just hang on

If you play guitar as well you really start noticing these similar nuances. Scorpions and a lot of other bands take very heavily from Lynyrd Skynyrd's chords and scales.
I was 15 years old when I first heard Always Somewhere and in particular a scorpions song .. since then I was stuck with this band and it became my favorite

Had the chance to see the Scorps a handful of times but STILL never have! My Hemophilia always flared up to the point where I was bedridden and couldn't go. It's a disappointment of such magnitude that time is running out and I don't think I'll ever be able to rectify it. At least I have these awesome concert clips tho! Kinda makes up for it...kinda...

Ahh Scorpions, Im now 62..... back in 78... I first heard Tokyo Tapes vinyl...... soon after...Lovedrive...was on holiday in Germany ..a school trip aged 18..... (had just left after 6th form...) ..my two mates and I had the "Lovedrive" tour t shirts on...as we wondered around the Rhineland....what a blast. Saw them on the Lovedrive tour, at Liverpool Empire Stadium...Schenker was expected...Jabs turned up..and blew us away................
10 years older than me, but still one of my favorite song.

These things always make you wonder just how much treasure some bands have in their vaults. I say just release all of it, the fans will buy it, even if it's not perfect. I don't mean compessed TH-cam quality like this either.
You know, when I hear this song now, I feel the depth of it even more then I did when I first heard in the band room in 1983, this song...I cry because of the loss, gain the healing, I am going through, I know this may sound odd, it doesn't matter what anyone thinks, anymore, the fact that it helps to bring my heart some healing through release is a good thing. Sometimes, there are other things to deal with at the time of a death, that we dont see/feel the hurt. I love this song, and this band more now then ever. Things that take you back
