    I've had my Inspire 1 for 4 years. Added the P3 and P4P bout 2 years ago. Had no real knowledge about geo mapping, drone deploy or pix4d. Got an opportunity to collaborate on a drone mission which forced me to start looking for definitions of terms like 85 top overlap, 85 side overlap, double-grid RGB ortho. Your video answered all those questions and then some.
    Thanks for taking the time to put this together. And I did subscribe to your channel.

      @@mostafasokkar7846 I actually bought a small Syma X5 drone to train with. If it crashes, very little damage to it because of the prop guards. Train in a very open area at first with very little, in any, wind till you get better at the controls.. I'm a licensed aircraft pilot, so that helped tremendously with my drone flight familiarization and training. Did a lot of homework watching TH-cam vids, talked to my hobby shop pro's, other drone pilots to help me determine the best drone for my operation. Ask questions. One thing about TH-cam post is that a lot of people take the time to post something that could be very helpful, but do not respond to questions. Don't let that discourage you. Email me at hagriff92@gmail.com if you have more questions.....

    As the first time ever looking into this app this has been a very helpful I've been flying a DJI mavic pro for 3 years and wanted to get into this type of software but I've always been a little intimidated but you made it a lot easier to understand and I look forward to watching your videos over and over and more your videos on this particular app so that I can start offering these types of services along with my Ariel real estate photography,

    You should start your flight at the farthest waypoint from your take-off / landing point so your drone flies closer as the battery runs out, not farther away.

    Hey Mark. Need a sincere advice. I have taking some drone flying lesson and feel more comfortable on the post field works. I am looking at options to work on the processing part of the business. Quick ones 1) Can I do that independent of the flying 2) Do I need to take a full course from drone deploy or any one or can I learn on the go if I take small processing assignments from multiple flyers? A piece of suggestion and way forward would be great help

    • @keatonwesterkamp8220
      @keatonwesterkamp8220 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Icen roz, if I understand your questions correctly, it’s a slim market for 3D mapping with drone, so I would learn how to fly too because it makes you that much more valuable and you’re not splitting costs with the drone pilot. Don’t forget though, flying a drone for commercial operations (things that make money) requires a Part 107 certification from the FAA. You don’t need to take a full course if you’re willing to learn and experiment on your own with the software until you feel comfortable with it. Hope this helps!

    • @welzoliver9501
      @welzoliver9501 ปีที่แล้ว

      I suggest that you take your part 107 training course through the pilot institute they will explain it and teach you in detail Greg is an awesome instructor with the pilot institute and he has several other courses that he will give you for free and some courses you have to pay for but it will help you tremendously along with this gentleman that's teaching the drone deploy software and how to use it to increase your revenue but I suggest you start with aerial real estate photography and videography when doing so fly in tripod mode it will slow down the reaction of your sticks so that you don't have jerky video. Or there is apps for that where you can do basically the same thing you can go on your computer and design your mission and then go out to the home or land and start the mission and take photos of the home the barn the land everything preset at altitudes and direction of camera and everything basically like drone deploy but for real estate I'm trying to think of the name of the app.its Litchi it will be a great experience for you and helping you shoot real estate I don't always use it depends on the size of the home or the property if it's a small 1500 square foot home on a small lot I just do it freehand but on a larger piece of land I will go on lychee and design a flight plan but this drone deploy app is phenomenal and the way this gentleman is teaching it is incredible thank you so much for teaching us this software.
      Sincerely, Welz Oliver

    • @redtrollairsoft4701
      @redtrollairsoft4701 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most companies charge by hour but if it is large land I would say a round about price is anywhere between $1000-$2500 but it all depends on the company.

    • @welzoliver9501
      @welzoliver9501 ปีที่แล้ว

      I charge personally by the hour in most things I do like real estate photography with a 1 hour minimum at $175 but as I learned this drone deploy software and start doing produce crops I will more than likely charge by how many acres they have with a one anchor minimum so that way you're not going out there for a hundred bucks you're getting at least 3 to $500 depending on how much you're charging for each acre of land depending on the area you live in I live in Huntsville Alabama and would be doing the outskirts of course like harvest or Madison Alabama or Tony Alabama I would probably charge $300 an acre just saying hope that helps I don't know LOL... But if I lived in Terrell Texas which is outside of Dallas Texas I would probably be charging $800 to $1,000 an acre see what I'm saying what you could do is call your competitors and act like a client and see what they charge and then charge $50 less over $25 less you don't want a lowball it too much cuz you want to keep the price up for all of you guys flying drones and trying to make a living or some extra money never lowball it too much keep the price within $50 to maybe $100 depending on the size of the job cheaper than your competitors that way you all still make good money I would start out just $25 cheaper and see if the client bites

    I am a new drone pilot and I live in a very rural/agricultural area, I can throw a rock from my window and almost hit a canola field. What are the rates you charge for this assessment? I'm sure I could help local farmers where I live but $450/mnth is a bit expensive to just be nice 😁. Is this something that would be requested several times through out the season or is this a once a year kind of assessment? What all do you give to the customer? Does Drone Deploy wrap up a nice little packet to hand out with your report?

    • @welzoliver9501

      I can tell you it’s a very tough market to tap into. It seems as though many farmers are stuck in their old ways or already have a company doing this for them. I would highly recommend trying to find several people who would like to test the service and take it vantage of the 14 day free trial before buying the software.

    • @jmeissen1
      @jmeissen1 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@markalan1386 Also, I am hooked up with a Fertilizer company Owner. We are doing test plots for Wheat Hay stock. The Farmers plant and the large Harvesting companies then own the plant by contract. We are now making paper from it in Starbuck, WA. Columbia Pulp. Used to be the stock had to be burned or cut and was pretty much useless. Taller stock fibers are better for paper. We are developing higher growth stock which now gets an additional $65.00 a ton for what was waste. My drone monitoring measures the Wheat height and plant health also recommending an earlier planting and later harvest.

      This is not a special camera. Many farmers and professionals in this business use NVDI cameras. They are infrared camera's that detect heat as a way to determine plant health. I am using a standard RGB camera that comes on any DJI Mavic Pro Drone. Both cameras have there good and bad point...NVDI cameras are extremely expensive and only detect heat..so they cannot be used for any other purpose than plant health. Hope this helps!!!!

      I'm sorry for needing more clarification, but you can get that plant health stuff WITH a camera that's on a Mavic Pro or Air?!

      Cameron Schmit yes!! It uses an RGB camera that comes on the Mavic Pro.

      Its most likely using the visible atomospheric index OR VARI algorithm in order to test for plant health. I dont think that VARI is nearly as useful for crop health monitoring as many plants health cannot be discerned from their colour alone (visible light spectrum).Drone Deploy should let people know about this before trying to start a business centred around crop monotoring..

    I would like to fly over my dads property to see the shape/contour of the land, it isn’t flat so how does the height you selected work? Does the drone follow terrain? The elevation of the property is about 2400ft. Thanks mate

    • @markalan1386
      @markalan1386  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Rav Jagdev it does not follow terrain. Set a s safe overall height. It will make the elevation difference.

      @@markalan1386 You are so correct! I had the elevation correct at the hillside at the back of our ranch and did not have my DJI Phantom Pro 4 Obsidian Higher and hit my wood fence post, $400.00 damage to the drone & had the DJI insurance luckily. If I had hiked up there it would not have been a problem or raised me max. elevation. I mention mine is a Obsidian because the white drones are harder to see in the sky but my dark gray is hard to see below the hill skyline.

    Hey there, I was wondering how I can make my Mavic 2 Pro compatible with this program. I'm just not sure how to make it work with the plant health portion of things. Thank you!

    • @franciscoasd123
      @franciscoasd123 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Mavic 2 Pro is compatible with this program, but there is an extra camera that has infrared sensibility so in resume you can use it but you cant process a real NDVI Info.
      Also there is a ishue, so I recomend to have only one app open in your phone, if you have two apps of drone flights it recognize only one, so use DJI app to calibrate then close it and then use Drone deploy to connect your programed flights.

    Thanks for the video! Stupid question, but I am a part 107 operator and only own a mavic air right now. I have been doing a little bit of real estate and roof inspections but would like to get into mapping. Do you have to have a drone equipped with a thermal payload to get the crop health images in drone deploy? Thanks again!

    • @welzoliver9501
      @welzoliver9501 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wish they would have answered that question of yours about plant health and having to have a thermal imaging camera on your drone it seemed like to me just from what I got from his video it seem like to me that you don't have to have thermal imaging that the software does it for you but I'm not 100% sure that's just what I got from the video but I've only watched it once try it out and see what happens like if you have a friend that has a corn or soybean peeled or a neighbor fly over it for free see what the app tells you and then compare it with the crop owner see what he thinks so accurate it is that's the only thing I can think of

    Wich could be a better bird for mapping:

    Mavic 2 Pro

      My personal opinion would be the the only thing “better” would be to a thermal camera setup on any dji. Lots of money though.

      It really depends on how sunny or cloudy the day is if it's a cloudy day use the smallest one like a number six or use the middle one for a sunny day and for a real bright day use your darkest filter just kind of play around with it on the same photo or make a straight line video of the front of your house with each filter on a cloudy day and or sunny day or super sunny day just play around with it I always use the 16 filter on a sunny day and I in my settings I put sunny or cloudy or whatever so make sure you go into your settings on your drone and change that as well
