Why are the FEI still allowing bit set ups like the one Olivier Philappearts has? It looked completely unnecessary for that horse and it is not a good look for the sport.
@@jennytaylor262 that's a bit harsh Jenny. I have ridden at an elite level in show jumping (represented my country) and I do understand that sometimes these devices are needed. I'm just pointing out what I see a lot of do gooders with no idea bang on about. There are other bits that achieve similar outcomes that do not have this "look". PETA is breathing down our neck. Don't give them ammo. Be smart.
Normally I would agree with you, however the horse seemed quite comfortable in his mouth, and the rider had very steady and quiet hands. I was more put off by Jörne Sprehe, her horse was clearly very uncomfortable with the tongue sticking out and she had the nose band cranked up tight

The horse has a quite mouth, tactfully ridden. Have YOU ridden at that level? Do you understand the split second response and precision required?
