    I really liked the first rider. He got into the arena and jumped, but he knew his horse was uncomfortable, so he left🤗🤩 we need more people like him

      Honey comb, that horse was uncomfortable. These are pro jumpers with pro horses bred for this sport going back decades into their ancestors. The horse missed those two jumps that bad, and it’s rider knew that it was uncomfortable, because that’s HIS pro jumping horse that is bred for this. NOT your lesson horse.

    57:18 so strange.. bitless .. of course it may suit for strong horses.. Bitless as the hackamores may have a really powerful curb effect... so strange how she judges the mechanical hackamore like a "light" tool.. because it can be as harsh and strong as the curb bits or double bits! Marlon yet did a pretty nice choice.. as I bet its better to have it around the horse's head than have to be pulling and hurting Diesel's palate , tongue and gums

      Tequila so I know this is really late but I just remembered that a red tail ribbon means that the horse kicks. It’s most likely for the safety of other riders and horses, but it could just be a choice of ribbon color.

    • @thedeadlysin7984

      It's ribbon, people put a red bow or ribbon to keep other horses away because that horse gets uncomfortable and may kick then which leads to a whole fiasco and probably a broken leg or two. The ribbon is for everyone's safety

      Going up to massive jumps like this, at that speed, you have to collect your horse, and these are all huge strong and hot warmbloods. There is no way of getting around it. Give them too much rein they will crash through jumps and never make turns. Of course, going about it as light as possible, should be a goal, but there is only so light you can go. It also entails having a horse who has an extremely well developed top line, and very much works from the hind end and over his back. The more on its forehand it is, the more trouble in slowing him down, and getting quality bascule over fences (jumping round as opposed to hollow). It takes years to develop a horse properly. Many horses in show jumping, with natural scope and ability, are just thrown into grand pri as quick as possible, and they wear down fast, go lame, get injured etc etc. Same in the dressage world these days. Many quality horses with natural build and movement (Like the PRE, Andulusians, Friesans etc) can get away with being ridden hollow and still look impressive (unless you have a trained eye and cringe seeing how hollow they are and rollkured into frames), but it's not very comfortable for the horse, especially not long term, and often their mind/bodies get completely ruined. Anyways, sorry, that was a bit of a tangent.

    • @madelynbrien5481
      @madelynbrien5481 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@tropicaoptica Yes! I love this!! I completely understand and agree that you cant just throw the reins away and try to do all the tight turns AHAH but for me when i have a bit of space in between jumps no matter the height I do like to give the horses their head a bit to relax and the collect them again to focus. For me I think it of a reward for them! I especially don't jump this height ofc but its just my way of doing things ! And dont worry, I really enjoyed learning even more :)
