Obviously all the top riders in Grand Prix jumping are on this discussion thread so they can critique the slobs and glue factory rejects at this competition, telling them how to do their job - lower the jumps, ride their horses with hackamores, jump with totally loose reins, lean back, lean forward, raise your hands, lower your hands, get rid of 90% of the tack on the horses, need a bigger arena and more sand, all the horses are being abused, call the cops, shut the competition down, arrest the riders, confiscate the poor horses and turn them over to people who really know how to ride horses properly - all the people posting on this thread! Is it just me or did every single Swiss rider pull on their horse's face like crazy? It's like they all ride exactly the same way. Some of them are very difficult to watch..
Gurtrude Hughes No, that's not true. There are other ways to let your horse know where you are going. I used to ride, and my instructor would have wanted to tan my hide if I'd kept my reins that tight. If you can't control your horse without doing that, without putting your horse's mouth through such a painful experience, you shouldn't be riding in my opinion.
Gurtrude Hughes Tight, short reins, yes, but not pulling on the bit so hard. Horses can sense shifts in balance, they are sensitive to your heels when they move against their sides, their range of eyesight is so wide that they can see you turn your head to look at the next jump. You should not have to pull hard on the horse's delicate, sensitive mouth to get him or her to go where you want them to go. Pulling that hard on their bit is painful, unethical, and unnecessary. Did I say YOU PERSONALLY shouldn't ride? No. No need to get snippy at me for telling the truth, deary.

They were sitting up and pulling. Some of these horses can get strong, especially at this level. You don't know until you've ridden this course and these horses.
Megan Proffitt I was a Grand Prix rider for years and had a very hard mouthed, extremely hot horse, there is absolutely no need to haul on your horse like this if you actually know how to ride effectively and school enough on the flat.
Seal the 4 rider was hanging in the bit, that’s why the horse didn’t jump. You shouldn’t have the control in the horse mouth, but yes sometimes you need to but you can’t do it like him
oh my god people. come on.! you are all really good riders with AMAZING horses. stop ripping out their poor mouths ! god it looks so painful on these poor horses
I really wish that every rider would pat their horses regardless of what happened in the arena. I know they may do it after their round but still I just eases my mind to see them being rewarded.
That Citizenguard Taalex really caught my eye live on Sunday in Hong Kong at the Longines, he has a terrific free shoulder and powerful back end and is very nice on the eye. A shot of him plus something like Jazz X Johnson would make a terrific dressage prospect. Bit of this bit of that. So many of the tall inbred Dutch dressage horses have very weak back ends these days, a bit of solid jumping blood is sorely missed.

Wow baaad day for Michael Whitaker :(
How di they survive without gloves
That arena seems really small and they are yanking the bridle too hard! Although, the horses are pretty and cute
I think they all put there effort into it
Well, as i see none noticed these rider’s mistakes. So i’m here to open your eyes☺️
9:29 too early for turn your head, man
11:05 and 11:23 bo comments.. just awful ride
13:00 that rider has waaaay too short a rein. Let go of your horses face so he can see properly and I guarentee hel take the fence.
Just disturbing the death grip some of these people have on their horses face. I know a lot of jumping is riders setting up the jumps, but get out of the horses way and let them do their jobs too
10:52 when they make their horse wear a martingale but ride with their hands at the horses ears 🤔
дорогие люди это где находиться
They are holding the horses back so much
Who let the guy at 12:34 ride? He looks like my awkward ass trying to stop my friend’s insane pony from riding off with me.
I hate saying that the riders good or they won cuz it's really the horse that did it
they were all hanging on the bit no wonder the horses were having trouble
They were sitting up and pulling. Some of these horses can get strong, especially at this level. You don't know until you've ridden this course and these horses.
Megan Proffitt I was a Grand Prix rider for years and had a very hard mouthed, extremely hot horse, there is absolutely no need to haul on your horse like this if you actually know how to ride effectively and school enough on the flat.
Seal the 4 rider was hanging in the bit, that’s why the horse didn’t jump. You shouldn’t have the control in the horse mouth, but yes sometimes you need to but you can’t do it like him
Katherine Ujhazy how come I have never heard of you then?? If you are a Grand Prix rider
Dennis Lynch's horse was beautiful, very careful with its back legs.
it is beautiful
oh my god people. come on.! you are all really good riders with AMAZING horses. stop ripping out their poor mouths ! god it looks so painful on these poor horses
3rd rider needs to stop pulling his horse's head and relax his hand otherwise it's gonna be uncomfortable for the poor horse
good job
I watched the whole thing
I really wish that every rider would pat their horses regardless of what happened in the arena. I know they may do it after their round but still I just eases my mind to see them being rewarded.
that was pretty cool
That Citizenguard Taalex really caught my eye live on Sunday in Hong Kong at the Longines, he has a terrific free shoulder and powerful back end and is very nice on the eye. A shot of him plus something like Jazz X Johnson would make a terrific dressage prospect. Bit of this bit of that. So many of the tall inbred Dutch dressage horses have very weak back ends these days, a bit of solid jumping blood is sorely missed.
Lol that lady just looking at the camera
luca maria hat die Hände viel zu weit oben dann ist es kein wunder wenn das pferd nicht springt! das lernt man mit am Anfang das kann ich mir nicht ansehen und er reitet im spitzen sport😐
+Madeleine Kruse Luca Maria is known for riding very complicated horses. Often horses that are not able to jump anything with other rider, so there is no wonder his style is a bit different...
ging mir genau so ;)
traurig :-/
Wow they don’t put their heels down like me, my teacher always needs to correct me
