- What are the biggest wheels and tires you can run on a stock Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392?
I have been running 38x15.50r20 and 20x12 -44 offset wheels and tires for over 6 months now. I have beaten this thing offroad and slayed the pavement on the street with no issues. Been wanting a Jeep TJ, then I see this beast… maybe I should save up more 😂
They are well worth it but a nice TJ is hard to beat!
TJ actually could put in work...this one would be a lot more expensive to fix and suffer from part shortages.
Get the TJ.
Aftermarket is much cheaper.
Yards full of parts. Good parts. Cheap parts.
If you want cargo space, either become very frugal with want/need or buy a truck.
@@immabouttobebannedagain1320 yep I'm new to offroading and just bought a new Gladiator dumped over 20k more into a 60k truck. It's cool but it gonna hurts me to abuse it since it cost so much. Really if I had to do it over again I would have bought a 60k C8 or Lotus or some other sports car and then buy a 20k pickup and put $8 to $10k dollar lift and shock package on it that is aimed at prerunning. Drive the doors off that thing, scratch it to shit and have fun without worrying about it. Maybe once the payments are made ill feel different and I'm not shy to scratch but I'm not jumping my brand new truck.

@@OnlyGhostType I used to be the general manager of a moving company and now I write contracts for a large corporation working from home. Mine is not a factory 392, mine is a conversion done in 2014. It cost roughly $125 including the price of the Jeep so mine was done well before Jeep thought about doing it.

Not gonna lie, i had wrangler 4xe and had the death wobble. These cars are meant to be parked on a farm and left there. People buy these things, and then complain about every feature ever. I traded mine for a grand cherokee. I drive 90mph and it feels like you are driving on clouds. So smooth
That's what wheel stabilizers are for. I have one on my jeep with zero wobble.

I need to let you use the Trackhawk for a video. We could meet at the drag strip this spring.
You know i'm all in for that, would be awesome to see how bad the trackhawk would destroy the 392 on the drag strip too! We have to make it happen!
If these tires are Mickey Thompson 38x14.50R20, then they have a max load of 3970 lbs, with maximum air pressure of 65 psi.
3970 pounds / 65psi = 61 pounds (rounded-off)
61 pounds of load capacity for each ONE pound of air pressure in EACH tire.
The RUBICON 4-dr has a BASE CURB WEIGHT of 5,103 pounds - add in four men (220 pounds each) and 200 pounds of cargo / accessories, that totals almost 6,200 pounds.
6,200 pounds / 61 pounds / 4 tires = 25psi per tire as the MINIMUM AIR PRESSURE you wanna run in your tires, crawling along off-road.
At highway speeds, you have to account for lateral forces, such as hard-cornering and sudden maneuvers, so pressure should be maintained close to vehicle mfg's specs as possible - as a general guideline.
They are the 38x15.50r20 I run them at 30psi
And I don’t have any friends to ride with but I use that weight for tools haha

I want to do the same thing you just did yours. I have a Rubicon 2013.
On my 2014 Rubicon I had to run a 3.5in lift and flat fenders to clear this same setup. It did really well though!

My only problem is it doesn't have the heavy duty drive train or transfer case as the older jeepa
The drivetrain and transfer case on this jeep are the best Jeep has put in a Wrangler yet!

Its a wet clutch AWD system on the 392 NOT a true rock-track system as in the none 392, and to top it off the axles are some cheap none heavy duty D44s i mean they could have at least sprung for stock dana 60s which would give you a better ring and pion 🤣

What do those tires actually measure out to? Are they a true 37” tire once the weight of the Jeep is on them? Been debating going 38 or 37s on mine but have been in the size debate when it comes to height and width. 37/13.5 or 38/13.5
On the 20x12 wheels the 38x.15.50s measure out to about 36.5 in tall. The 37x12.50s on my Bronco Raptor measure out to right under 36 in tall
@@GodspeedZRZ man, now you got me pulling the trigger on 38s and 4:88s 😂 i figured they would run kinda small under weight but man 36.5” on a 38” label 😮💨 I want a true 37” tire on my JK once axles are built and all the 37s measure like 35.5”-35.75” with about 32psi and the weight of the Jeep. Hopefully 17x9 and a 3.5” backspace gets me by 🤞
