    I just ordered the Raven today on Sale for $495 USD , under $600 USD shipped to my door and they shipped it out same day - so stoked to see this video up. I got the same 5'8 PU as you , didn't even realize until I watched the video so now I am extra stoked to try it!

    Hey Noel, ive had a few of these as well and i too think its a great carver, and better for a point break style of wave. However, both Ravens i had the tails cracked within about the first dozen surfs. I think i can see yours has too?

    • @surfnshowreviews7777
      @surfnshowreviews7777  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Bummer... sorry to hear that your tail cracked. Yes, my tail cracked too.... however every board that I review that does not have Carbon Tail On the toe side cracks on me. The tail on the toe side cannot handle the pressure on my bottom turns so it cracks open. I told The folks at Haydenshapes that every board needs Carbon on the tail for this very reason..... except for Future Flex. It already has the Carbon on the rails by design.
      Another thing to remember... not every surfer will crack the tail like we did.... most of my friends that are intermediate surfers will never crack the rail from turns.

    Hi Noel, this question may seem a bit broad but for improving my surfing and work on my technique what board would you take ? A more stable more volume than usual so you have time to think on your feet position, where you look etc...
    I wonder if I should up my volume to allow myself to focus better on my technique.

    • @surfnshowreviews7777
      @surfnshowreviews7777  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Really depends on the wave. If you surfing fast waves it might be tough turn quickly or getting down the line fast if your board is hard to move quickly.
      It makes sense to go up a bit in volume if your surfing a slower wave

    how would it compare to the driver 2.0 you looked really good on the board

    • @surfnshowreviews7777
      @surfnshowreviews7777  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Raven will carve more and offer better traction off the bottom. The Driver 2.0 is faster and goes better in 2-4’ surf. However when your surfing 4-6’+ the Raven will our perform the Driver 2.0 in the pocket due to it offering more hold or traction.

  • @shawnweston4741
    @shawnweston4741 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    As a general rule Noel would you say that the more V a board has between the fins the more pivotal and vertical it will become and to get a board that carves more in good condition shoulder high plus waves the V is always taken out and left with concave throughout the entire surfboard?

    • @surfnshowreviews7777
      @surfnshowreviews7777  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question... boards that I’ve ridden like the DHD 3DV that has a good amount of V makes it extremely easy to get the board to roll over on rail and carve or get it vertical. However.... It took me some time to get the hang of surfing the 3DV because it wanted to get on rail when I didn’t want it to. If I was trying to gain speed down the line... it would try to get on rail when I want the board to be in neutral.

    • @shawnweston4741
      @shawnweston4741 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@surfnshowreviews7777 so why do you think the 3dv worked against you in this way Noel.was it the type of rail the board has or because it may have more V in it than most boards.?

      @surfnshowreviews7777  3 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @surfnshowreviews7777

    • @surfnshowreviews7777

      My fin construction is Fiberglass with epoxy resin. According to Futures Ride number my fins would be more speed controlling due to their stiffness. Our Momentum Series fins are my interpretation of Fast and Loose with Maximum Drive.
