- In this episode, Noel Salas explains what a coaching lesson with him involves and sets the stage to invite North Floridian surfer Eric Petersen to join him for a lesson. Eric, being an advanced level surfer, meets up with Noel at Waco Surf. Noel videos Eric’s session and begins to critique his surfing. He dives into areas where Eric can improve his Roundhouse Cutbacks and Frontside Snaps. Noel breaks down what it looks like to get proper extension and compression as well as weight distribution and proper body mechanics. Noel then brings it a step further and shows you practical application on your Slide Surfskate where you can increase power, speed, and flow in your surfing. Follow along in this lesson to progress in your surfing too. Enjoy!

This hit close to home. Noel has me returning to surfing after years of inconsistently surfing due to work and injury. Noel has showed we can surf at a progressive level well into our 40’s and beyond. I am very thankful for Surf N show. Stoked.
Cheers for the kind words and I’m stoked to hear your shredding again
Awesome analysis. Noel, your attention to detail is legendary.
Yewww.. cheers for the kind words!!
Great stuff Noel!! I will get some footage and be in touch. I know I have some habits you could really help me get rid of. I recently purchased a Slide Skate. Loving it. You are spot on… very much like surfing. The trucks and wheels are a perfect mix to work on things out of the water. Stoked!
Cheers for posting… let’s get some Virtual Video Coaching going for you!!!
Excellent as always. Videotape and an outside opinion are invaluable. 🤙🏼
Thanks for the tips bruh
Awesome insight! 👀📝
Excellent, thanks.
Super good ep.
Would be nice also showing an intermediate surfer lesson
Absolutely… coming soon
Even before watching the lesson! Dude you ripped!🤙🏽
this is awesome, thanks!
Great video noel!
Do you usually recommend initiating movements from the back foot rather than the front ?
Absolutely… the sharpest rail turns start with back foot weight first then drive through turns as you shift your weight forward.
Awesome Brother if you can try to get ahold of a YOW surf skate I love them for surf training (:
That piece of grass Noel tored apart is still flying somewhere
What sharpey board was the one you used there on the wave you compared to his, Noel?
The Twin Turbo
How long was eric’s surfboard on the video?
His board at Waco was 5’9”. That’s fine for him in the ocean but in the pool a 5’7” of 5’8” would go better
Trying to surf more on rail is there an fin setup that would help or force me to use the rail more ? (twin, quad, 2+1, and thruster)?
Pure Twin Fin boards like the Rusty Deuce, Ci Twin Pin, basically boards without a center fin or stabilizer
What was Eric’s fin choice in his Dominator 2.0 he was ripping on that thing ?
@@NCsurfer607 Akila Aipa Twins with T1 trailer
Could you review the op3 please?
Who makes that board?
Christenson! Would be epic! Cheers.
