    I had a 5'8 in the same construction and dimensions and took it out for the first time on a 3-6 foot barreling day at a nice beach break. Board felt like magic with great flow and awesome speed. Sadly I snapped it on a back side barrel that same day ): I found another used 5'8 but a little wider and coming in at 25.5 liters. Still love it but definitely not as much pop and speed as the PEC and not quite as good in barreling surf. Great review thanks!

    Noel, seeing as you consider it more of a daily driver, how similar is it to a pyzel phantom? Cheers for the quality reviews mate!..

      ben clarke Phantom has more foam forward so it paddles a little better. The WN might be a tad more responsive but we’re splitting hairs here. Due to more foam forward the Phantom is more user friendly...

      goodtimesmag.gr Similar to a normal PU/Poly in weight. This PE-C tech has more pop and feels more lively under foot compared to a normal PU/Poly.

    Heya thanks for posting this. I'm thinking about selling my phantom 5'9 and getting one of these, feel like mixing it up. Kinda bored of the phantom and there's a 5'11 of the WN in the shop here with similar dims to my 5'11 CI Pro which is epic (as long as I'm surfing properly on the day 🤪) and I'm using that as a good wave board. I'm 175cm and +-63kg Based in Bali so the waves have a bit more oomph and never really super small. Reckon that could work as an every day stick?
    Also i just saw another review where the PE-C construction was causing issues with the glassing around the stringer as the foam compressed and the stringer and glass came away. How have your WN's held up with more use?
    Tia 😊🙏

    • @surfnshowreviews7777
      @surfnshowreviews7777  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      lohena1 The HG is way looser and faster rail to rail. They fit the same wave range but they surf completely different. My HG was 5’6” and my WN was 5’9”... those 3” in length make all the difference in the world when it comes to how boards feel under foot.

    At your weight and height, all the Fin package suggestions would seem to point you to a Medium sized fin. However, you tend to enjoy Large size fins. You and I are similar height and weight, and unfortunately I don't have the ability to try different fins. Why do you prefer Large and should we ignore the "suggestions" and go for a Large set? I reckon it still comes down to the individual and which size feels the best.

    • @surfnshowreviews7777
      @surfnshowreviews7777  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Paul Stanfield I like a large fin due to it having a wider base. The wider base allows me to push harder off the bottom to generate more speed. The downside sometimes can be that a board feels tight due to much fin depth with a large fin or its creating too much lift in bigger waves and it’s hard for me to keep the rail engaged. In those cases I switch to a medium fin.
      If you are thinking about trying a large fin then I recommend a pivot set or a set like Al Merrick fins that have a smaller center fin to keep the board loose.

    Looks like it will struggle in East Coast wind chop, but on those clean waves that tech looks good.

    • @surfnshowreviews7777
      @surfnshowreviews7777  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Catch the Wave The bouncy around on the bigger wave was due to the white foam on the wave face from the set wave before the one I caught. This board will go good in chop... it’s PU foam not EPS.

    Thanks for the review, a lot of useful informations as always! had to rewatch since I found a good deal on a FF 5’10 White Noiz 28.8L . But I have one question, I am an average+ surfer that doesn’t ride really often but I can still hit the lip and get some turns done, I’m a bit over 5’7 but I have some longer and stronger legs than my height will suggest. I have a 5’8 TT Tomo Evo at 35L ~ (that was basically my first shortboard after only riding small “performance” softop like 5’10 tc softech) but I used it only in mushy to slightly roundy 1-3 feet waves. I had a lot of fun with such a fast board while I was also able to upgrade my turns but I feel like I’d be able to take of and paddle with a lot less volume and I’d like to do some more drawn out maneuvers in a bit cleaner 2-5 feet Portuguese sandbars / points without having the feeling of needing to spread out my legs super far like I would sometimes on the evo on better waves to not have all the float and crazy concaves slowing me down before my front foot. Do you think a 5’10 HS ff White Noiz would be a great option at 28.8L ? And which future fins would you recommend as all around good fins (setup I’ve enjoyed the most are FCS 1 DHD-2 in PC in (M size) for thruster sides with a FCS 1 PCC 3 (S size) in the middle, it’s a weird setup but I really dig the side fins with a thinner tips a pretty upright template and a smaller trailing middle fin). If you could help me I’d really appreciate and if would for sure help me . Thanks a lot and hope you’ll read this

      @@surfnshowreviews7777 and for an intermediate level like me pretty much any volume calculator indicates a volume between 28 and 30 L I just would like to know if the shape (specially the amount of rail line and how tampered they are) would fit me fitness and the fact that I'would really like to make my turns drawn out and my position on the board more balanced where I used to feel a bit too much "chunckiness" between my feet with my legs spread out with the Evo...
