I don't usually have Sotheby's money. Hahaha, I DID just get a very small, very nice Satsuma vase for $20!

The peach charger, as I stated, was a museum piece worth more than the $2 million it received. The Chinese Coral Red dish was expensive because gold was used in its production As a former potter, I know how difficult it is to successfully fire underglaze copper red. The double-gourd vase was special because the color was so difficult to control in a wood-fired kiln. This double-gourd vase was the one successful piece out of a hundred or thousand such pieces that were destroyed in the search for Imperial perfection. When are you going to address the red and green (Tang dynasty?) striped figurine at the beginning of each video? The glaze on it is copper reduction.

In the last 5 months I've had a slew of tests due to another issue. They did check, my Heart rate is around 62, BP 117/70 oxygen 99.+%. EKG totally normal. Thanks for asking just the same. Best Peter.

Completely agree about the economy and world being crazy. I also agree that this is an excellent time for buying. I truly believe that ten years ago I couldn't have possibly amassed the collection I have. Hopefully more rich people become poor so I can reap the benefits. Hahahaha, sorrynotsorry.

Erotic paintings are not considered serious or decent art works in Chinese culture. Unless you can prove that those were painted for the imperial court, they don’t present much value in the market, even though they might appear interesting

But that dragon 🐉 only has 3 claws instead of 5 claws… 🤔

The rule that five-clawed dragons could only used by the imperial court wasn’t formulated or seriously followed until mid-late Ming Dynasty. That blue and white jar was dated to Yongle emperor, which was very early Ming period. I hope this helps answer your question
