Draco in English: You got yourself a girlfriend.
In German: You’ve rizzed up a girlfriend.
Deutsch ist einfach eine Sprache mit der man richtig viel scheiße bauen kann und es dann immer noch Sinn macht.
I thought it was, "You've ripped open a girlfriend", as in, he's ripped open a present and it turned out to be a girlfriend for him, cos she's presenting herself like his present here. Some typical toxic German line like that lol.
@@marioluigi9599in this case aufgerissen is more like a succesful pick up not literally ripping open a present. Like you go to a bar to pick up women or men you could say aufreißen. It's not specifically adressed to women either. Although I would say it's not something a nice kid at that age would say so still very much Mallfoy
@@calliope3943 LOL in that case, what does ripping open have to do with picking up?
@@marioluigi9599 quick googling says that the saying started in the 50s and meant stealing or quickly getting something before that. You can use the same word for getting a job so it's not always used in sexual context either.

Dutch Malfoy introducing himself as Lucius Malfetus really took me by surprise
They changed the names up in Dutch, though they didn't change it to "Malfetus", but "Malfidus".
Hahahaha me too
It's malfodus. From the latin mala = bad and fidus = trustworthy. So untrustworthy.
Lucius Malfidus. His son was already introduced to the Dutch as Draco Malfidus, so it wasn't a surprise to me. What was a surprise is that all other European languages just kept it "Malfoy" and that Dutch was the only one where the translator (Wiebe Buddingh') changed it.
Dutch plus Polish really fits Dracos real voice in this age , others sounds younger
As a dutch guy I can safely say that the voice they gave him sticks out like a sore thumb, not a bad actor but gosh that voice is everywhere plus the voice sounds so cartoony.
It's because the Polish actor is only one year older than Tom Felton who played Draco, so they were very close in age. It applies for most actors in Polish dubbing. The voice actors were more or less the same age as the characters they played.
@@PrimalKevYTwell, we dub barely anything at all. So for the others reading this. Because we quite literally don't dub 99% of the time except for kids movies and shows we only have a few actual voice actors that basically dub everything. If you ever watch dubbed kids movies and shows you'll notice hearing the same voices a lot of the time and so it really starts to stick out.
@@PrimalKevYTeerlijk de stem vind ik wel bij de leeftijd passen van de Nederlandse

É mesmo.
Why does the Japanese dub makes it feel like an anime series with over 1.000 episodes, 300 manga volumes to read and other 150 OVAs that I immediately needa see????
In fact, there are many Harry Potter fanzines in Japan, so that guess is not wrong.
I also made a recording of an original story with a fellow Harry Potter fan a long time ago. LOL!
@@Grace.B_from-Japanそうですか?

It's so interesting that the German dub keeps the English names (also I think Japanese says "mister Potter")
Most of them keep them. Why would they change them considering the series takes place in England
@mark9294 Most of them, even czech, says "mister" it's just different, like "pan" but still everyone use "Harry"
@@mark9294in Dutch they did change some names because we in our language technically are not able to pronounce some of the names in our language without just sounding like the English version which would just sound off. To be fair, the Dutch barely ever dub movies at all. It's very rare. Usually we only do so to kids TV shows or movies but something like Harry Potter is already a big exception I can't think of there existing any dubs for somewhat similar movies. We just use subtitles for 99% of the time.
So Hermione Granger is called Hermelijn griffel
Draco malfoy is draco malfidus
Ron weasley is Ron wezel
Dumbledore is perkamentus and so on.
@@Blackdeathgaming-yv1kkBrazil has some names changes too
For example, Lilly and James Potter are called "Lilían and Tiago Potter"
German keeps most of them except for Hermione, who was renamed Hermine for some reason (pretty name though), and crucial character Professor Grubbly-Plank, who was renamed Professor Raue-Pritsche

Ok so for those wondering why the Mandarin Chinese one sounds so “weird” to y’all English speakers: “Harry potter da ming ding ding” is roughly translated to “Harry Potter has such a big name (is so famous). The funny “ding ding” part is the same word repeated twice, often used to emphasize its importance. In this case “da ming” means name, usually used to refer to someone who’s famous. And the “ding ding” means top of the top. You see this sort of double wording a lot to emphasize things. Kinda like how English we have “est” for baddest, longest etc
In case y’all were wondering….
"Baddest" is not a word.
As spanish myself I love the spanish voice, really suits him
Wow, Dutch and Italian were really good!

Malfoy: Bet you are overjoyed by all this, aren't you Potter? The famous Harry Potter ends up on the front page even if all he's doing is purchasing books.
Ginny: Go away from here.
Malfoy: Look what you got there, potter. A new girlfriend, huh?
Lucius: Not like this Draco. You ought to be more courteous..... (rest of it is as in English)

Maybe his synchron actor was in voice break this time(?)
he does not sound like girl, he sounds like a boy who did not go through voice change yet... seeing the age they are at it is totally normal to not have their voice changed yet... i mean the characters are suposed to be 11 most boys have their voice change at 13/14. He was dubbed by "Moritz Pertramer" a german voice actor who is the same age as Tom Felton. bubbing the german version of Draco Malfoy was his first big role.
They had to change Harry's voice actor for Prisoner of Azkaban because his voice hadn't matured at this point. It's hard for me to take German Chamber of Secrets seriously knowing that the voices don't quite match

It's hard to describe the joy of hearing the Hungarian version here. Between all those foreign languages. Finally one that I understand and know since my childhood. Also, I've seen others writing down what they say do to some weird reasons, so here's the Hungarian (and the literal translation, it starts at 5:12):
Draco: hízott a májad mi Potter? A híres Harry Potter egy boltba se tud úgy belépni hogy ne kerüljön a címlapra. (You like this, right, Potter? The famous Harry Potter can't even enter a shop without ending up on the front page!)

Mr Malfoy: ejnye Draco, ne légy modortalan! Ah, Mr Potter. Lucius Malfoy. (Come on Draco, don't be ill-mannered! Ah, Mr Potter. Lucius Malfoy.)
