I'm a 22 yrs old, an asian, a college student taking up a Marine Transportation course. Tuition fee is so expensive, My mom has diabetes and its complicating her body now, she can no longer read small letters, its affecting her eyesight and she is the only family member I have left, my father died when I was just 5 yrs old due to alcohol addiction, and I don't have any siblings. We are struggling now financially to be honest, I keep breaking down at night because this is really my dream to become a seafarer or a seaman, drive ships bla bla bla, that's my childhood dream and because of this situation I am now, my chances are slim to reach that dream☹️💔. I keep going back here every night watching thia video to try and keep my morale and keep believing on me and on my dreams. I keep on praying that my mother will get well enough to live and see my succeed in life. She is the only I got. I need prayer guys, I need god right now. I just want to be successful in life and reach my goal of becoming a seafarer.
You can do it brother, you’ll be a great captain one day. Even if you have to start as a green deckhand & work your way up, you’ll make it. & whether your mom is alive at that point or not, she’ll see you, so will your dad. They’ll always be there with you, no matter where you go.

I am still far from the 12 months required sea time ( I am just 2 mnths onboard now) But I am not giving up despite the challenges life has given to me. I needed to hear that I was feeling like quitting and I saw this and it reminded me that god is with me and to keep going no matter how hard it gets because all things are possible through Christ who gives me strength
you are never alone. it's easy to quit, there's a million reasons to quit. find the 1 reason, find the thing that drives you the most, the thought/idea/ purpose to keep going.

But I failed and now I know what I need to do to be successful because Jesus will get me through it and all things are possible with God. These next 3 months is going to be pure hard work,discipline,training harder than ever and I've got the perfect training plan. I got knocked down but I am never out off the fight. I think the Dutch Royal Marine corps is a hard course too. They dont sleep alot, they have to keep going and they have to dig alot. Then there is the FInex where they have to put it all together.

@tigerolson its not about who said the message, its about the message itself. Its not like the message is less true if you were to try out for army sf, or marine raiders, and so on. Its the never quit attitude that drives our elite. That drive is the same.
The only thing my grandfather told me of his service, in the marine corps, was you learn who you are. They are not a talkative type. They do the job and do it well.
If only politicians and countries appreciated their service personnel. Good soldiers who love their country and give everything incl their bodies and lives. If only they were really recognised and appreciated by the public and governments. Soldiers should get more support while they serve and when they leave as they do need help as do families who have lost. True hero's who fight for a country and government who mostly lie to them use them for their own gains as soldiers and families don't gain much. Those tests was probably just the screening process they use for applicants, I'm prior Navy Seabee, and when I was going through basic back in 2006, there was a kid in my division that selected seals as his rate (job), and in boot camp people that select seals as their rate go do a different PT during the morning from regular PT for other rates, and it's not the actual PT/swim that will be taken place during BUD/s, the kid switched rates after the first week of a small fraction of PT for seals screening process, not trying to undermine what you did, but it's not just a swim qual that you have to do, also I heard they do alot of swimming with fins so if your ankles aren't use to using fins/flippers then you won't make it either, also it's all about mental toughness, pain in you body is temporary, pushing through the pain and knowing it only temporary is the true key to surviving BUD/S and any other military training.

It’s so weird, I understand that I’m addicted to sweet stuff and sweet drinks like coke and I understand that it is ruining my life slowly but still everyday I wake up and choose to consume and over consume it. I want to stop, I think about it all the time, all day but I never do. I understand how much better my life will be without this stuff, how much better my life would be if I lost 10kg which isn’t even that much but I just never do it, my urge to eat always wins and it sucks.
A lot of the times it has to do with the people you surround yourself with Whether it be family or friends. Surround yourself with people that have the same goal as you. Replace all those junk meals with real nutritional foods. Instead of a pizza eat a steak dinner. Instead of a soda drink a natural fruit smoothie. Instead of chips eat some carrots, almonds, grapes etc. Discipline over motivation.
Try green tea, sweetened with honey. You sugar craving will go away, but fruit helps too. YOU are the only person that can change, nobody else will do it for you. If you want it bad enough, YOU must make a way! Start walking, one step at a time…

Those tests was probably just the screening process they use for applicants, I'm prior Navy Seabee, and when I was going through basic back in 2006, there was a kid in my division that selected seals as his rate (job), and in boot camp people that select seals as their rate go do a different PT during the morning from regular PT for other rates, and it's not the actual PT/swim that will be taken place during BUD/s, the kid switched rates after the first week of a small fraction of PT for seals screening process, not trying to undermine what you did, but it's not just a swim qual that you have to do, also I heard they do alot of swimming with fins so if your ankles aren't use to using fins/flippers then you won't make it either, also it's all about mental toughness, pain in you body is temporary, pushing through the pain and knowing it only temporary is the true key to surviving BUD/S and any other military training.

It’s so weird, I understand that I’m addicted to sweet stuff and sweet drinks like coke and I understand that it is ruining my life slowly but still everyday I wake up and choose to consume and over consume it. I want to stop, I think about it all the time, all day but I never do. I understand how much better my life will be without this stuff, how much better my life would be if I lost 10kg which isn’t even that much but I just never do it, my urge to eat always wins and it sucks.
A lot of the times it has to do with the people you surround yourself with Whether it be family or friends. Surround yourself with people that have the same goal as you. Replace all those junk meals with real nutritional foods. Instead of a pizza eat a steak dinner. Instead of a soda drink a natural fruit smoothie. Instead of chips eat some carrots, almonds, grapes etc. Discipline over motivation.
Try green tea, sweetened with honey. You sugar craving will go away, but fruit helps too. YOU are the only person that can change, nobody else will do it for you. If you want it bad enough, YOU must make a way! Start walking, one step at a time…
I wanna be a Navy SEAL and to be honest I will never quit and I will never give up and I will get up early and train because i don’t want to leave BUDs I want to graduate from BUDs with my Buddies and become a Navy SEAL and wearing that SEAL trident 🔱 with the rest of my buddies and so I want to be a Navy SEAL so how can I pass BUDs and get that SEAL trident 🔱 and I wanna be a Navy SEAL and I run everyday and I do my push-ups curl ups Pull-ups so being a Navy SEAL is what I want to do
