I don't have very much lined up in terms of restorations for this game. what are you guys' favorite songs from here?
Armageddun_’s videos are seriously incredible for the fact that he got them out so soon after the Gigaleaks happened; the first video was just after 9 days! however due to working so quickly, his videos have a number of inaccuracies. I hope to be more accurate in my releases :)
to answer a question someone had in the first video, Armaggedun_ used samples that were leaked directly from Nintendo. they're better without compression, but they're still only 32000Hz, which is the same sample rate the SNES used for audio. what I'm doing (in all my restorations) is taking the full samples the original composers found from various sample CDs and synthesizers of the day. for example, this song uses the Digidesign SampleCell II and ILIO Synclavier World & Orchestral sample CDs, as well as the Korg 01R/W and Roland SC-88 synthesizers (though I actually went further back to the Roland L-CD1)
as for this song itself, it’s cool to see the differences between the two composers on this game, Koji Kondo and Hajime Wakai. Kondo used more instruments in just the intro movie than Wakai used in this entire song-you can see in the video that I ran out of instruments to show off before the first loop ended lol. Wakai also used a drum roll sample that’s from the same pack as the existing snare drum, but wasn’t used in ocarina of time! that’s the coolest thing to me

Nice! Titania / Macbeth is the best theme from this game in my opinion. I enjoy the training stage theme too 😅. Those are ny favorites.
