His marketing genius is what made The Beatles the band they became.

Wow! The members of The Cyrkle wrote the iconic 1980's "plop plop fizz fizz, oh what a relief it is" jingle? That IS news for us on the West side of the pond! 😁 Great show, gentlemen. I actually became a bit acquainted with Nat Weis in the early 1990's. An extremely pleasant and accommodating man.

I remember when Brian's secretary Joanne Petersen’s book There's a Beatle in My Closet was anticipated to be published 9 March 2004 by Angus & Robertson. It had even been assigned an ISBN number when it disappeared, presumably in accordance with the wishes of the same person who arranged for the 2023 non-publication of Gregory Martin's recently planned biography of the intimate Beatles entanglement of his father George Martin.
I expect that Joanne now abides by terms of a McCartney initiated Non Disclosure Agreement, she can't be expected to speak about this.
But even mentions of the suppressed book have been censored in comments by pro-censorship Australia media corporation ABC broadcasting.
We the people are grateful to independent media

I am Jewish and Jewish children learn business very young... and he grew up around a very wealthy Jewish father.. who instilled that in him as he was growing up

One of the chances Epstein missed was in not forming his own song publishing company around the Beatles and his other artists. Then that unity could enter a deal with the likes of Dick James, further empowering the Beatles. On their part, the Beatles should have had the foresight to cut a four-man song publishing deal with this new Epstein company, not a Len-Mac centered enterprise. I'm surprised Epstein didn't recognize the revenues in sheet music, big back then.

Selling records would offer specific insights into what drives demand for the pressed plastic. So Mr. Epstein would have been tuned to the enthusiasm percolating around the Liverpool band and how it could be escalated into a world wide mania.

Great podcast, one slight correction red rubber ball was co written by Bruce Woodley of the seekers and Paul Simon, I only know that because Bruce on stage at the last ever seekers show in London that I attended talked about this on stage. He met with Paul Simon while playing on the folk scene in the UK when Paul Simon was largely unknown

Indeed he did. I asked Bruce about writing with Simon years ago when I met him in his office - and he said he'd co-written a few songs with him but was pissed off when one appeared on a S&G album without accreditation. Cloudy was another co-write but I can't remember which song was not credited in Bruce's telling.

Brian Epstein and his management of the Beatles, seems to straddle tremendously grand vision and personal demons. Brian seems like an emotional man, filled with love and intelligence but also tremendous fear. Like many fascinating celebrities, a difficult life to sum up in a few words.

The stuttering in your commentary is quite revealing. A clear lack of conviction.

No one was running to sign the Beatles to a recording contract, Brian worked very hard to get them the Deca audition and could have possibly greased George Martins palm to cut Love Me Do. For all his talents Mr Martin was not paid well by EMI at the time. Also just one more person John Lennon got close to who was ripped away suddenly by the Grim Reaper ☠️
