    Today on our 1995 Jeep Wrangler, we will be installing the Rampage complete soft-top kit for Jeeps. These are available in a wide variety of different colors, with and without tinted windows. See etrailer.com for your desire and color. The one we are working with today is black denim, part number RA68115. This is going to fit your Jeep YJ and Jeep Wrangler 1987-1995. Upgrade your Jeep top with this all inclusive soft top kit.
    It comes with soft, upper half doors, clear vinyl windows for the front, side, and rear, removable side panels, a rear trunk cover so you can cover up behind the back seat, and a roll up feature for the rear window. For that cool breeze in your feeling, the top folds down in 1 piece. It even comes with a convenient canvas storage bag, to hold your soft, upper doors and vinyl windows when not in use. With the top up and the windows out, you and your squeeze can feel the breeze without all those harsh UV rays. The heat sealed seams and heavy duty zippers help keep out water. The interior mesh pockets provide storage for the driver and passenger side.
    As an added bonus, Rampage has included a canvas tool patch. Now that we've gone over the features, I'll go ahead and show you how to get it installed on the Jeep. Before we install our windshield channel, you'll notice that our holes are pretty stripped out. We are going to go ahead and fill those in with some high performance lock tight gasket maker, part number LT37467. Then when we do install our new channel, we are going to make new holes. Since our old holes are stripped out, I've gone ahead and drilled new holes in my windshield channel and I'm going to use it as a template to mark out my eighth inch holes that I need to drill in the top of my windshield channel here.
    I'm just going to mark those and get those nice and lined up. All right, then we can take our drill and drill those out with our eighth inch drill bit. Then we can replace our windshield channel, make sure that the holes line up nicely. Grab our included hardware and start screwing it down into place. I'm going to start right here in the middle and work my way out that way I know it sits evenly. Now in some instances, if the included hardware doesn't work you can use your old windshield channel bolts to hold it down.
    As you can see we did here. Our next step is to install our windshield uprights, you will need to make sure and have the correct side. This is the driver's side here. You can see how it's going to fit nicely around the windshield. Make sure and if you need to you can drill out your eighth inch holes, but in this case it's going to line up with our pre-existing holes here. We're just going to take our included hardware and put that in place. Then I'm just going to start right here in the middle and work my way around. Once we get this one in position, run over to the other side and repeat that same step. Now the next step is to install our belt rails, you will need to make sure and grab the correct side. We've got the driver side here. What that's going to do is it's going to sit on the side of the Jeep just like this. We're going to use our pre-existing factory holes, as you see here. Now keep in mind everything we do here we are just going to repeat the same step on the other side. We will grab our hardware, it's going to look like this, and we're going to go in this exact order as you see here. We will grab our lock nut, we're going to go through the hole with the washer, put this so that portion is facing downward as you see there, and we're just going to get that started. Then we will just repeat that for our remaining holes. Now that we've got all these hand tightened, let's go ahead and tighten them down. I'm going to start right here in the middle here and just work my way up. Then our corners, the exact same way. Now onto our tail gate brackets, and they are going to go just like this. If the holes aren't big enough for our included hardware, you'll need to drill them out. The way that the hardware is going to go is we'll grab our Phillips screw, then we'll put the star washer on, followed by our regular washer, and put our tailgate bracket in place. Put our screw through with all the hardware, and then finally our lock nut. Now that we've got that hand tightened, let's go ahead tighten it down. We can go ahead and grab our boa assembly, and we'll want to lay it out to identify the front and rear. The front is going to have the foam padding as you see here. We've got it laid out exactly how it's going to go on the Jeep, that is. We'll grab our connection tubes and we're going to connect the boa assembly together.

    Wish someone would make a TJ style top for YJs with the plastic door surrounds that stay in place. Love my YJ, but after 23 years of tent building every time I put the roof on; I'd love a TJ style top.
    I know you can swap in the TJ cage and modify the TJ uppers.

    I bought this top and installed yesterday. Everything is great except the back window. First my kit didnt include the tauneo cover for the back bar that connects to the taile gate.
    Secondly my zippers appear to be backward from what they should be for the back window. Any advice? Thanks!

    • @etrailer
      @etrailer  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We apologize for not showing how to flip the half top back. You will just need to unsnap the front section from the roof and tuck it on the inside of the vehicle.

    How can I reduce Soft Top Flapping which creates incredible amount of noise, to the extent having a conversation itself is so difficult

    • @etrailer
      @etrailer  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You will want to be sure to tighten all straps to take out the slack in the top. That is really the only way to reduce the flapping in a soft top.

    I still cant get that tailgat bar to fit in those upper brackets of the tailgate brackets. I keep trying to stuff those rubber edges on the tailgate bar in the bracket and it keeps ripping the rubber off. can anyone help ?

    • @etrailer
      @etrailer  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry you're running into issues. Are you having a hard time connecting the bar because the fabric is too tight? Are you working in pretty cold temps? It's recommended to try and install in an area where temperatures are above 70 degrees F. Installing the top in a warmer area definitely keeps the fabric from shrinking and makes the installation easier.

    This top is soooooo bad, I bought it off amazon where it says it will fit 87-95 wranglers. Wrong it only fits if you have the hardware from 91-95. So I had to buy new hardware. Second doesn’t come with door frames, had to buy those. Now after all that I thought I had it all. Next thing you know the upper doors don’t like up and the snaps for the sides on the top won’t stay snapped together. Now I’m sitting in my Jeep, so mad that I bought this. I should’ve went with a bestop replacement.

    • @etrailer
      @etrailer  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds to me like you received a used or incomplete kit. The kit we sell includes all of the hardware you need for the YJ including the upper half door frames.You can see the complete kit on our product page www.etrailer.com/Jeep-Tops/Rampage/RA68115.html
      On the other hand I agree the Bestop has quality tops as well. I'm not exactly sure your Jeep's model year but here's the entire selection we carry www.etrailer.com/dept-pg-Jeep_Tops-sf-Complete_Soft_Top_System-pm-Bestop.aspx
