Just knowing that all of my characters, not just the ones I'm actively playing, are receiving AP for slotted materia is game changing for me. I wish I would have known this earlier.... Thanks for that tip!
A tip for those who wants to do the analysis challenge for the fight simulator: if ur not sure having already analyzed press the touchpad mid fight, if it doesn’t show you the weakness etc of the enemies it means you can analyze them to get the progress. 🤝
A helpful thing I found to do, fiend Intel's with at boost+access. (Just easier before something dies). And if you have all of the combat simulators for the region you're set. Otherwise go for Intel 1 for each region. Should set up a good 2-8 per regions access count. Making the remaining alot easier. Dungeons in between zones leading up to the next can also be used.
After searching around a bit, I'm seeing a lot of people saying this only works if you've beaten the game already. It doesn't work if it's your first time through. You don't get that much AP for these fights.
A fifth AP Up can be found in the final dungeons shrines of trials, in the west one that is not originally shown but can be accessed. It will oly be useful for postgame / hard mode, but that's where we all are anyway.
For those wondering its chapter 13 when they flashback in temple to proceed. Directly after approach the closed door on the left itll open for cloud there's an AP up there enjoy
Im pretty sure your 21 ap is AFTER you beat the game before you beat the game you only get like 7ap i think. After you beat game you get a 3x ap bonus.
FINNNAALLY someone said it! NO one but is realizes this. There is no 21 al its only 7. Plus he says hard mode and normal is the same. So this vid is either wrong or missing information

THERE IS A FIFTH AP UP MATERIA! It is located in one of the trial rooms in chapter 13. When all the trials are finished just visit each trial room and you'll find it.
You’re totally trolling and hopefully I save somebody some time. There is no AP up in a trial room. I went into all of the trial rooms and it’s not there.

@@johnpettiford6547 I see 3 possibilities. 1. You missed it. 2. You already picked it (and you missed another one). 3. They removed it after an update.
The AP up Materia is in one of the red door rooms. Not the rooms that the party have their trials in but one of the rooms that haven’t been entered yet
Actual farm is the 3 cactuars at Outcast Underpass, Corel Region. Just look west on the map there’s a long, tan-ish brown pipe. Just kill them with Yuffie’s Windstorm AoE, save and reload. 2min at the spot in video got me only 78ap in 2min whereas at the cactuars it gave me 216ap because they give 72ap a run if you have 3x AP (hard mode or pre end game have AP boost on chocobo armband) and I was able to do it just a little faster than 2min
Speaking of farming - I’m not sure if this has been covered, but materials respawn with every load. Pick the items, like sage or ore, save your game, then scroll down to System - Title Screen - Return to Title Screen. Click on Yes, and then hit continue from the title screen and all of the materials will have respawned, including Shinra boxes. Easy items, easy Gil.
Hey man AWESOME guide for the gongaga part but i have a little bit of a faster way to do it… instead of running through to each mob, JUST KILL THE FIRST ONE… walk away a few feet, save and reload.. you cut out all the running (doesn’t seem like much but it’s MUCH faster) that first mob gives you the most ap also. So just kill them, save, load and repeat.. much faster than running to the others.
I discovered an even faster method to dispose of the enemy groups at Gongaga. I use Red while he carries ATB Boost and First Strike materia. Thanks to these, i can use Stardust Ray immediately and it absolutely destroys the enemies. Cloud carries Synergy-Petrify so he follows up with a Quake spell on every Stardust Ray. If you’re planning to farm AP there, try this method 👌
For the Gongaga region, even if you are under leveled you can one hit all mobs almost always by having Aerith use quake. If you have the Chocoking's Cape, equip it along with First Strike materia for 2 ATB at battle start and multi cast Quaga with petrify also linked with magic focus. If you don't have the Chocoking's Cape you can equip ATB stagger and just multi cast quakera - stagger on it is large enough that you will get another guage after the first cast. For efficiency you can have an MP absorb on Petrify or just use HP-MP on Aerith swap and give Provoke to another party member - very rarely the Grandhorns would use a laser and knock you out right away but you can always restart the battle in the off chance.
It's NOT mid-game if you can't do it until AFTER you beat the game! Sure, you can go and farm them as soon as you get to the required chapter, but you get 1/3rd the AP meaning it's a complete waste of time. It's like saying you went back to Chapter 1 to farm mobs after beating the game, but since it's cheaper 1 that makes it an early game strategy...
You don't need to save and reload when you are farming xp in the gagonga region. Doing a loop, and waiting for the next one to load on will actually be quicker than saving and reloading. I was waiting maybe 10 15 seconds between mobs for the next one to load back in, depending on how fast I managed to kill them.
Can you do the hard mode Queltzcoatl farm in Chapter 12 post game so you can level up Cait Sith too or does it have to be Chapter 13 you select? Thanks for the video.
When doing chapter replay your entire party is present so even if selecting chapter 13, he is in the party list just unusable so still there for exp/AP gain, this also applies to earlier chapters.
Hey bud, been enjoying all of your videos. I'm about level 33 going into chapter 9, or rather, having explored the desert area and held off on doing the first main quest of chapter 9. Would you say I'm about on course level wise or is there something i should be doing to buff myself up a few more levels before progressing? I tend to prefer being 3-4 levels above main story quests so it doesn't feel like too terribly much of a slog.
@@Zmonsta86 That's what I'm seeing as well. I wish the people making these vids would let people know that. If you're on your first play through, this doesn't work.
If you AP farm, does all the materia you have equipped that's not linked to the Chocobo armband specifically, do they all gain the 6x amount of AP? Or just the materia linked with the AP Up on the Chocobo Armband?
I was literally just thinking this when he started doing the math on it, because if not then you wouldnt be getting 6x the amount of AP, youd be getting 2x for any linked with AP up materia and then 6x for that one specific slotted materia with the AP up

I have the same problem. I'm only getting like 7AP from those fights. It must be a new game plus thing, because the AP there sux compared to just using VR.
I mean there is little reason to grind before post game you're wasting a lot of time since post game doubles AP gains. I went back on Easy mode to repeat the Queen Bee quest in Nibelheim the boss calls Guard Bees in groups of 4 and each is worth 12 AP post game. I put enfeeble rings on the party so they don't kill the boss and I just farm the Guard Bees as she spawns them. It's actually a lot of AP with very little running and reloading if you can maximize the boss fight before killing the boss. It's also very good exp when I first ran the quest on my first playthrough I knew it would be a decent AP farm quest but I didn't expect the exp to be really good also. I maxed out in minutes. The biggest downside is once you max out all your materia you have to finish the fight to keep the AP because you retain exp but not AP if you restart the fight and ofc you can't check your progress during the fight so you just have to know if you're maxed out or not.
Okay so this doesn't help me at all. The game's only been out for 9 days and I'm still stuck in the grasslands at level 20 getting my 🍑 handed to me repeatedly 😮💨
It's a maraton, not a sprint. This game is very long, if you do all the side quests. But if you don't have time or are not interested in completing everything outside the storyline, just move on. Regardless, the game has been out for less than 2 weeks. It's ok to move slowly. Just enjoy the game.
I have 141 hrs currently and I'm on Chapter 13 of 14 because I've been doing every single Character Quest (36 total), Queen's Blood competitor (30 total) Chadley Intel (too many to count). So yes, if you try to complete everything your 1st time, in order to make additional playthroughs easier then it will take about 150 hrs to do so.
230 hours with chapter 13 and 14 left and like 10 hard mode vr sims left and then still need to fill out play log for enemy asses and character affectio/dates.. I see this being a 300 hour 100% if you do everything even past the platinum reqs

You can do this on easy mode as well to speed things up, doesnt seem to be a drop in AP or EXP ❤

Using the combat simulator to earn sp and ap is a bad idea?
idk if this is a bug but with chocobo band plus ap up im only getin 4 ap from each group..

you need to finish the game first to unlock more rewards after battle more exp and ap
Great video!
thanks for this!
How are you getting 21AP in that fight in the vid comparing hard/normal? I do that exact same fight and I'm only getting 7AP.

Gongaga is mid game bro. Around at 55-60% of the game's progress.
Gongaga. Chapter 9 / 14
Thats chaper 9, Mid game is more Junon and Costa Del Sol

I would suggest avoiding farming as you will eventually max out anyway if you plan to replay the story in hard
Only getting 6 or 7 ap at the Gongaga area.
how to maximum party level. I stay in lvl 9 545/605exp for a long time
doing side mission/highest score on minigames
