I've been running a 1968 right hand start 10-10 I rebuilt and I love that saw, so nice to use. You're right about Macs and horses buck'in, no need to get all excited when working with them, let them set the pace. Always a thumbs up. 👍
Buckin, I just found your channel 2 days ago and have barely slept from watching your content around the clock. Completely addictive. I’m 60 and just retired, still in good shape but haven’t run a saw in 20 years. My dad put me on an 18lb Echo as an 11 year old in the 70’s and I was hooked right away. You’re making me want to run out and buy a new Husky, get it ported and piped and just listen to it in the garage. Keep it coming for us old guys reliving some great memories and thinking about making some new ones.
Buckin, I have watched your channel for many years and the motivational words during each video is always uplifting. I can't thank you enough for all that you bring to a fellow firewood cutting enthusiast. I learned to buck rounds at 12 years old with my grandfather and here I am now showing my kids the importance to mind and soul it brings to me. If you are ever in Pennsylvania and want the chance to fell and buck some monster oak, ash and river birch give a shout. God speed and keep on bringing smiles to the big world out there.
When I was a kid, my dads PRO Mac 700 would drive me crazy because it was so loud it would wake me up on Saturday mornings. Now it's my most prized possession. I just tuned it up, and it cuts better than my new Stihl 290.
The 700 was a strong weight for power ratio. The 10-10 or 55 weight the same ?. run the 700.But the vibration would put my hands to sleep could not feel the saw set it down grabed the pro 81 it had rubber motor mounts . ripped threw soft woods.
That's great. My first car was a 73 pinto wagon. It was puke yellow. Slept in the back regularly. Had plenty of whoopie in that car...what a pile, but got the job done!
I broke out the old 024 wood boss the other day still runs great hasn't seen much action since I got the 365. Thanks Buckin for showing us the older saws it's great to see!!!
I like those lime green ones best. The ones made in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. Break out that P51 or P38 once in a while Buckn. Just love the sound that P51 makes when ya got er wide open.
You have to be a wizard with Mccullough saws. We have a saying here in north central Pennsylvania. Not much luck with a Muck-A-Luck. I have to admit your saws run great.
My wifes uncle was cleaning his garage yestarday and dropped off to me a pro mac 10-10. Popped off with a little gas dumped in the carb. I cant wait for the carb kit and fuel line to get here. I have wanted to run one for a long time
Love your videos!!! You were riding the bus at 19….I was driving the bus at 16. Back in the day we could do that . That how I bought a 69 ford truck from my pop.
I have an old Stihl 029 it’s like that Mac. On start up it idles high and chain will spin then after about 2 minutes the idle will settle down and the chain will stop. After the saw is warmed up it won’t do it until a cold start.
There are very likely hundreds of thousands of these old Mac's still running and being used all over the USA. They were dirt cheap decades ago and homeowners all over the USA were buying them. In the fifty or so years I have owned one since it was brand new I have only had to change the pull chord on time. Using a bit longer pull chord makes starting it far easier.
Saws that settle down are saws that leak air when cold and as they warm like the SR 71 blackbird leaks fuel when cold they tighten up and quit leaking!
I’ve always wondered what that 4- stroke sound is at wide open but not in the wood? What is going on with the saw when they make that noise. Some seem to do that and others don’t?
Excellent video Brother! Question: is there a particular grind that works best (long ways) with the fiber? Like in milling. I’d love to hear your take on this. Love ya Billy Ray! Thanks always
That is a full comp chain not full house. They are not the same thing. Full house is almost exclusively a carving chain with cutters on every tie strap
The timber man of the forest speaketh a language few will ever really comprehend. For many years now he has 'got it wrong' according to your metric. But that's not because he actually doesn't know or is wrong. It's just his language.
I why you only run the full wrap because it acts like a kickstand. Other wise there a tiippy sonof a when trying to put the bar on. Got me like 19 10series now every engine size. A couple of titans and a 250 really looking for a big top tank.
I'd rake those leaves back from the fire ring. Not sure where you are (deciduous trees) but I have to believe the ground must have high water content. Can't just toss a fire ring on the ground in the dry Sierras, the ground has too much bone-dry organic debris in it.
Why do you keep posting videos of re-videos. The same as sharpening videos. I like you Billy. But this shyte is getting repetitively boring. Please do something different like climb a tree again and stop forcing god on people. We don’t ask it. So why are you doing it.

Holy crap Billy!!!!!! My first car was a 1980 white Pinto Station wagon and did pool jobs to buy it when I was 18. That is amazing!

That is awesome!
Don’t try that with today’s bumpers on new trucks, your bumper will be sitting there on the ground 😂.
That Mac is clean!

The old saws are great therapy
Great Chainsaw...

Greetings from Germany Peter
I guess a Mac will tell you when it is ready to work.
When the chain stops, that’s Mac’s way of telling you, it’s warm and ready to use.
Awsome. Thank you. Love it.

That seems like a big bar for 54cc. Cuts with power. I have husky 254xp with 20 in bar, also 54cc. Maybe I could go up a bit in bar size.
ya got to get the old gal up to temp and dont rush it
Hey Buckin when did Oregon stop making powersaws ? My Father had a big beast, I remember the oil pump .😊😊
you're special
Hey Buckin... off subject question... what camera are you using? Just an iPhone?? Or something else?
Liked, Let’s freaking do it.

Good Friday friends
Hahahaha
Funny my first car was a Pinto😂
For the average homeowner who does some milling but doesn't burn wood, would the 562xp be a good saw?
Also, how do you tune an old mack? 😂
AHWOOOO GET ONE 👍❤️🌲
I why you only run the full wrap because it acts like a kickstand. Other wise there a tiippy sonof a when trying to put the bar on. Got me like 19 10series now every engine size. A couple of titans and a 250 really looking for a big top tank.

840 views in 30 minutes - Awesome!!!
What gas:oil ratio for that Mac?

Yes the first memories of chainsaws for me was back in the seventies with my dad running a Mac!
